To start with, I pre-ordered being a dual core user. It was a gamble I thought the game deserved. Had no problems purchasing it, downloading it or installing it. Waited till the exact launch time and pressed PLAY. Sadly I was stuck in the black screen before the main menu. Although no confirmation that the problem was related to the dual core processor came, I thought would be better to refund the game asap. Based on my experiences I have some suggestions.
1) I know my processor was at fault, but at this moment I cannot afford to buy a new PC. And that is not BioWare's problem. But then I saw people with quad cores complaining about the same issue as I, and Maker knows it was more than one person! Also I had games being able to run on my machine even if I didn't reach the minimum requirements. Now, I searched exaustively for a DAI DEMO but didn't find any. I refuse to download pirated software to use as trial. Unless I'm being really thick there was no DEMO! I think it would help greatly those that need to upgrade their machines in time for the official launch or check if their PC can handle it. Yes, some will tell me to read the specs, but I'm sure as hell I was not the only one that gambled. And I got the deluxe edition, more money for them.
2) I was skeptical about the Great Game Guarantee...but after two days I saw the full value restored to my credit card once I asked a refund. That was superb and quite a surprise coming from a company affiliated with EA...For that I'm very grateful. I will definately purchase this game again in the future, along with a better gaming PC when I can afford one. I suggest that the refund should be 7 days and not 24 hrs. That would allow some patches and fixes to come in time and solve or not problems I had. Now I'll never know if the problem was my PC, or the game, etc. Sadly I only knew you could just wait 6 days for patch as long you didn't open the game after I already pressed play.
3) How the hell is Leliana NOT romanceable! Are you guys crazy! She is more sexy than ever, in appearance and personality. That was low! Ahh well, I wish all my fellow Inquisitors to have fun in the game and hopefully in a year or two I can join you all! And despite the negative feedback I read, the Youtube videos I been watching to feed me some DA had superb moments. Well done, BioWare.
Finally, can anyone explain to me how games made on a PC that gets exported to Console and then we get the Console Port malfunctioning back to PC? Shouldn't we the master race have priority? I mean peasants...That is an argument I will not make here LOL
