Bioware has abandoned PS3 and XBOX360 with announcement of dropping both patch and DLC support: http://www.dragonage...s/save-importerhttp://forum.bioware...-going-forward/ There is no more fixes to come so this thread will remain to show what problems DAI has and will always have on PS3 and XBOX360.

Multiplayer on old gen will get weekly challenges, but not patches and DLC's so no new stuff.

Thread about problems and issue DAI has on PS3 and XBOX360. Information has been gathered from players in Bioware forums and Answer EA.

Please note that not everyone is having same problems and there is lot of inconsistency: some have severe problems and some just some bugs. So if you aren't having certain problem it doesn't mean that others aren't having it.

These issues and problems that I have compiled here are supposed to give information on devs what problems the game has and what they could investigate/fix (however they haven't done much fixes during half year since release so it's unlike that this will happen at least anymore). Their other use is to show other old gen players what issues there is and maybe find together ways to counter them if it's possible. If that doesn't help either you can at least get peer support from the thread and others with problems so you don't have to suffer alone with your broken DAI ^^;

ISSUES, CLITCHES AND BUGS

Performance issues:

  • Black screens, crashing and freezing game
  • Frame-rate drops & major lag issues, for example Forbidden Oasis area is unplayable for some because of lag and frame-rate drop.
  • Multiplayer gliches a lot and is unplayable for some (for example no key drop, no-end download and stuck on the ground, crashing etc.).
  • Loading times are huge at times (over 20 min for some just to save the game)
  • Save files problems: corrupted, can't load some or any saves.
  • Disk unreadable- error on 360 & No digital download or installing game on HDD for 360, these problems might be related. Buying new disc doesn't help (people have tested this).
  • Controller input lag.
  • Saving game freezes/crashes the game, especially auto-save results into crashes a lot and crashes tend to corrupt saves so maybe option to remove auto-saving might help some players?

Gameplay issues, clitches and bugs:

  • Dialogue wheel problems, sometimes dialogue has to be skipped in order of game to continue. (better for some after patch 2 but still remain for many)
  • Can't complete guests cause some parts of them won't load.
  • Enemies don't load or they don't attack player

Graphic issues:

  • Textures don't load properly or at all, texture pop-in's.
  • Screen tearing.
  • Low resolution at times.
  • Clipping issues: arms go through weapons or torso, chin goes through armor etc.
  • Lighting issues: in some places too dark to see (dungeons), in some places too much light.
  • Hair and bears have shiny bug.

Texture's don't load issue that's very usual and lows graphic quality and visuals of the game a lot:

Kuvakaappaus1312_zpspuncez0v.jpg

Compare how different he looks when his face has loaded textures:

Kuvakaappaus1313_zpsptddl6yp.jpg

Pictures are from my game, picture quality isn't best cause I can't take screenshots in my PS3 so I take them from screen with phone's camera.

Sound problems:

  • There is no sound; background music and sound, dialogue, any sound.
  • There is no party banter (notorious cross-gen party banter bug).
  •  Dialogue problems: dialogue sound is lacking behind, dialogue has errors or doesn't come out right times, dialogue is spoken 2x speech (chipmunks?), dialogue overlaps.
  • Random sounds clitches like oddly repeating environment sounds or sudden and noisy screeches and sounds that aren't supposed to even be on the game.
  • Sound problem happens in background music, dialogue and sounds.

TEXT PROBLEMS:

  • Was that hard of read? Reading DAI texts isn't any easier. Especially people who are deaf or have dyslexia have hard time playing with this problem, but others as well since reading is important in RPG's where all texts aren't narrated.
  • Text is too blurry, too small and in capslock which makes it hard to read.
  • This problem isn't related to SCART-cable nor SDTV, people with huge HDTV's with HDM1-cables have reported about same problem.
  • Bioware could fix this by making text size abjustable for players or simply making it bigger and easier to read.
  • EDIT: ADJUSTABLE SIZE FOR SUBTITLES IS AVAILABLE, BUT IT'S SUBSTITLES ONLY NOT ALL TEXTS. You can change your subtitle size from options -> audio -> subtitle size -> default/medium/large.

Things that aren't bug but make experience worse:

  • Black screens during tactical camera (confirmed as not bug).
  • There is no scars in CC (confirmed as intentionally removed)

PATCH INFO

Patch 2 came 9th December. http://blog.bioware....-patch-2-notes/

Patch 3+4: Patch notes are same as for PC so you have to ignore mouse and other PC specifics: http://blog.bioware....-patch-3-notes/

Patch 5: Adjustable subtitle size is one of fixes. Here are patch notes: http://blog.bioware....-patch-5-notes/ Patch is now downloadable when you open your game. You can adjust subtitle size from options -> audio- > subtitle size.

Patch 6: Some random quest stuff, not really anything on old gen problems. http://blog.bioware....-patch-6-notes/

Patch 7: Some random quest stuff, not really anything on old gen problems. http://blog.bioware....-patch-7-notes/ However seems to have caused some freezes on XBOX360.

Patch 8: Multiplayer and save importer stuff: http://blog.bioware....-patch-8-notes/

BIOWARE DROPPED DLC & PATCH SUPPORT ON PS3 AND XBOX360 so no more patches is coming after patch 8.

Hey Everyone,

This thread is going a little off the rails here so I wanted to pop in and get it back on track. We are following issues reported to us from users on all platforms, and this includes last gen. Patch 2 was focused on stability on all platforms (full patch notes), and are also looking at a number of fixes and improvements for future patches.

If you are experiencing problems, please report them on Answers HQ or tweet them to @dragonage. Unlike the BSN, these channels are geared towards providing troubleshooting and cataloguing issues from users. If you feel there might be an issue with the disc or product itself, you can also file a report here and our customer support personnel will do their best to help you.

If you notice that another user has already filed a similar complaint, don’t be discouraged from adding to their thread. This helps us keep better track of how many players are experiencing an issue and can better help our support staff troubleshoot the root cause.

Please note that the BSN does not offer troubleshooting services (apart from the help other people here kindly offer). Our devs come here on a volunteer basis to interact with fans and share stories with them, rather than to provide official support.

We appreciate your concerns and are working hard to address issues as they arise, but please remember that this forum is not the best place for you to make our staff aware of any problems you may be having.

How hard is it to one of the devs come here, read the OP post and then make a post: "I read about the problems you have, we'll now look into what we can fix from these." or "We actually are aware of these problems already and we'll try to fix them on the following patches."

It's not that hard is it?

It'd be nice to even know that BW cares about the problems and they are actually trying to fix these problems instead of just making DLC's for multiplayer, fixing PC controls etc. But at the moment I doubt they are even aware of most of problems.

We have been following this thread since the start and have been looking into the issues that players are reporting. I unfortunately do not have any updates for you at this time, but trust that we have been paying attention and looking into stuff.

We appreciate you all taking the time to let us know about what you have been experiencing and are working to identify issues and address them as best we can.

I'll give you more information once I have it, but can't really say anything more at this point.

*snip*

EA/Bioware are a major company with tech support- EA Help, but no complaints dept. No number you can call, no manager you can complain to, etc. What kind of a way is that to run a business? I've never worked for a large firm that doesn't have a way for you to complain about their products or service. They want feedback from this forum, but absolutely no accountability. And that is diabolical even if they fix the game.

You can contact support directly through here with specific issues and speak to customer service about your experience.

With regards to Octarin and others worrying that there's never going to be a patch for consoles, that's not accurate at all. Granted there's a certain reading between the lines with "PC patch 3 notes" but you are reading into it the wrong way.

I'm not at liberty to clarify further, but I'm sure some of your fellow forumites can (and have) clear that up for you.

I know he isn't at liberty discuss further.  Just saying that I, and maybe more of us, have already tried to get help on the issues on the EA board to no avail.  Gonna wait and see.

Do you mind pointing me to some of your threads?

After much deliberation, I have chosen this weeks winner of Dev-Chat Roulette!

And the winner is....

Conal Pierse!

Message him this week with "Inquisition still crashing on ps360 generation, where's the patch that fixes it?" on the forums (PM), Facebook, Twitter, or any other social media outlet I am forgetting. If you would like to change your sig to reflect this weeks winner, feel free to do so, but odds are I will lose mine soon as well.

Perhaps we will get a less disappointing reaction this week.

Here's a pint to hoping!  ;)

I'd rather prefer that you take the opportunity to remove an offending part of your signature, rather than have a mod discover and remove it. I appreciate what you are trying to do and understand that you are frustrated, but we do not allow our posters to target individuals for harassment (even if you are asking others to be polite).

And no, I didn't discover this because I was inundated with messages or search the forums for my name. I regularly check this thread and let our team know about the concerns of our community (both here and elsewhere) and issues they are facing. I understand that our inability to give you much in the way of information to date is frustrating, and for that I apologize.

I encourage you to continue to provide feedback, but please do so in a way that doesn't violate the rules of this board. Feedback from the community is an invaluable tool for our developers, however, we kindly ask that it is given in a constructive manner.

I don't think messaging about problems is harasshment unless there is personal attacks or something similar going on though.

I think people are trying to get attention to problems this way cause they have been ignored otherways. I have messaged to Allan about making old gen community thread, but without answer. Why are PC players hold on higher pedastal with their own threads, I don't know. Because Devs are refusing to take care and keep old gen community updated I have to do that and take my own time to do what devs do to PC community. Aren't I practically doing devs job with this thread? We don't get info unlike PC folks get with messages about new patches and what it will fix for them, acknowledgement by devs and other stuff. I have to search and ask around for them everytime and then update opening post.

And I think one problem is that although devs say they are listening it doesn't really show in Patches. Patches 2-4 were practically PC patches with tons of unique fixes. Patch 5 finally has mention -one sentence long, maybe cause it's not important to PC folks- about adjustable size of subtitles which is one of major issues console folks have been reporting since release. It's probaply being fixed cause it's problem for XBONE and PS4 as well, not only old gen.

At this point it doesn't seem like we will get old gen specific fixes at all. Although you have been in this thread which is at least something, well I don't think it has translated to fixes and patches for us so overall it doesn't feel like we have been heard.

You can absolutely reach out to people with problems you are experiencing. The issue is when someone picks X individual to target with messages. That, whether good intentioned or not, can lead to the harassment of that individual, which is why we don't allow it. If someone makes a post or puts something in their signature saying "hey everyone, send a bunch of messages to X" that crosses the line.

With regards to the size of subtitles, that is something we heard quite often from our last gen community, and something I know you have been looking for since the start. At present, we're not able to give you any information on future patches for other platforms apart from the PC beta. That being said, I think if you look at the track record for how patch information has come out so far, you can probably extrapolate and draw your own conclusions (which I can neither confirm nor deny).

It's true that we have been more active in the PC thread to date, but I'm working on ways we can get more information out to the gen3 players. I understand that this has been frustrating to date, and that your patience may have worn thin.

With regards to Octarin, I can't really comment on what you purport David to have said, other than to say that we do value feedback overall. In the more creative aspects, such as writing, there is obviously a balance between creative freedom and what some segments of the community may want (such as being able to romance Varric, for instance). However, when it comes to creating a great overall player experience, whether through gameplay, storytelling, character design or what have you, trust that we absolutely take into account what we are hearing from our players.

We then evaluate the feedback and decide on what to do next. Not everything can be acted on, whether for technical, creative, or any other number of reasons, but we do work hard to try and create something our players will enjoy. This post from Patrick Weekes on writing Krem is a pretty good example of how we worked with the community to try and bring greater representation to our games.

Community feedback is a great tool for us as developers, and something we have always valued highly. There is a balance between creative freedom and community desires, but that in no way invalidates its worth.
