I think they will still fix things, I heard that Skyrim's had patches that even came after year of the release, but probaply not many things for old gen. I think the Black Emporium is still coming.

I do wonder if patching things specifically for old gen might impact the game on new gen considering that previous patches has reportedly fixed things for new gen but made issues on old gen worse. And when you consider that for some people on old gem, the game plays fine with minor issues while for others the game is so bugged it's completely unplayable... the whole situation is a mess.

Yea, I don't really know what causes some have lot of issues and some almost none, because everyone in old gen has quite similar hard- and software unlike in PC where everyone has different.

Perhaps the problem is in the factory that created the discs themselves. It'll be interesting to see if the guys that bought a physical copy have more bugs that the guys that have bought a digital one.

Well, I purchased a physical copy (Xbox 360) of DAI (Deluxe Edition) from Gamestop and have only had 1 freeze so far in over 220 hours.  I have had no other major issues, such as broken quests.  I have the normal last-gen graphical issues (such as pop-in) and noticed that there is less party banter and less loot seems to be dropping (both happened after Patch 5).  Hopefully, Patch 6 will resolve some of the banter and loot issues...

As for the 6 hour playable Demo of DAI (on Xbox One), it appears to be the same as EA early access meaning it is actually the full game.  I suppose the idea is for people to play the Demo and then purchase the full game at a discount ($36.00).  I guess it is a win-win for both Microsoft and EA, since the Demo requires Xbox Live Gold.  And if someone decides they like the game, they have the option to purchase.  Personally, I wish EA / Bioware would focus more on fixing issues (especially on last-gen) that people who already purchased the game are dealing with but am not at all surprised they are trying to generate more revenue.  I'm gonna go out on a limb here (and admittedly have no proof) but I will not be surprised if EA / Bioware makes some sort of official DLC announcement either on 03/16/2015 or 03/17/2015.  My only basis for that is that we know they are working on DLC (The Black Emporium among others) and we also know the Demo officially ends on 03/16/2015...

Can you install the play disc on the 360 yet? I haven't been paying attention to the patches since patch 1. I don't think I'm ever going to do another playthrough if you can't install the disc.

Up to patch 5 huh, sad to see nothing for old gen, from what Ive read on here.

Haven't put my disc in the console since the 5th Patch. It was not on the list, so I don't believe it work.

Have try it just now : No, you can't install the second disc. Still have the freezes on my side...

Anyone saying that the old machines are the problem may be forgetting that gta v plays perfectly on ps3. There is a lot going on in that game, so what's the real reason I've had to completely cut off the power source to my ps3 in order to turn my system off when getting a hard freeze? Two times now, plus multiple times I've gotten a freeze that I was able to reset my system by pressing the power button.

Textures take forever to pop in and draw distance for objects on the ground is awful. In gta v this is not a problem . I know gta v is the gold standard, but it's proof its not the system.

Fun game, loving it when it runs, but its a hot mess in terms of playability.

I basically agree.  However (and not to defend Bioware), GTAV was originally only available on PS3 and Xbox 360.  Therefore, it was coded specifically with those systems in mind.  It is also a plus that EA does not own Rockstar.  I played GTAV on Xbox 360 and had no issues.  DAI was (more or less) optimized for PS4 / Xbox One and PC - If you have a controller.  We "Old Gen" players kinda got the short end of the stick.  I am not really surprised.  Disappointed:  Yes.  Surprised:  Sadly No...

I thought the fact it was coded for new gen was going to cause issues for us old gen players, but not this massive. I definitely wasn't surprised since I have gone through similar situations with other games in the past 4 or 5 years (Skyrim, FO:NV, ACIII to name a few non BW titles, you think I would learn my lesson..) but was extremely disappointed at the extent the game was stripped down on old gen.

Definitely the short end of the stick, bounding on the edge. This is by far the WORST game release catastrophe I have gone through. We are 5 months and 5 patches deep, and what do we have to show for it?

Nug droppings.

225 signatures and counting.

Though apparently the abomination that has become EAware has made a business practice out of ignoring their customers, as long as they get their profits.

Perhaps BW should look at what happened to Pandemic Studios, hm? They were both bought by EA from the same holding corp., and Pandemic had some decent games (MERCS, DAH!, Star Wars: BF), up until MERCS2: WIF (IMO) which was the first game developed under EA. I recall it being riddled with bugs and glitches on PS2 and PC. Then came LOTR: Conquest, another choppy glitch filled mess with an undeveloped storyline and awful textures, and the somewhat better, but poorly put together Saboteur (also very glitchy and bugged).

What came next?

Three canceled games and their eventual demise.

But this is the GOTY! :) I think they think they have got away with this... that they made a product that works for most people and is just shoddy for the few. I think factoring in all the people for whom this wasn't game breaking but it was still a bit crap then that few is nearer to say 5% than 1% of their fanbase. I think 5% of their fanbase could still spend some time telling people how much it sucks. Personally I am suffering a little from fatigue. They don't even bother to answer my twitters/facebook messages any more. Has everyone else stopped bugging them? If I'm one of a few lone voices then they'll just totally ignore us, instead of pretty much ignoring us...

So after 2 weeks, I finally got my game back from my friend. I loaded up my ps3 yesterday and it downloaded the latest 1.05 patch. I had heard about the option to change text size being added, so I went to audio options, and there it was. Little did I know, that option only works for SUBTITLES. -.- Really? Are you ****** kidding me, Bioware? When people asked for bigger text, I'm pretty sure they meant all text. I don't care about damn subtitles. I understand English, my ears are fine, I can hear the audio just perfect, I don't need bigger subtitles. What I needed was bigger text to read codex entries, war table missions, dialogue options, menus, etc. The bigger subtitles are like a ****** joke to me, seriously. They don't even look right; they don't look the same as the bigger subtitles on other systems. I don't understand why this is so hard to get right. The text was perfect size in the last 2 games, why you couldn't get them right in DAI? It's just text. Bigger text shouldn't steal more money from the development budget. Like, omg, 分かっていません, 誰か説明してくれよ...

Also some weird sound bug I'm getting with Dorian, Iron Bull, and Josephine. Their speaking volumes are lower than before, lower than everyone else's voices. I cut the game off and back on but still it persists. They speak in a whisper now. I first noticed it when I was looking at the war table and Josephine said something. If it weren't for the subtitles at the top of the screen, I would not even have known she was speaking, then Leliana replied to her, at a normal, audible volume. Then went to go talk to her at her table, and her voice is still low. I proceeded to walk around talking to other npcs to see if the problem persists and it happened with Dorian and Iron Bull as well. Also, way more pop-ins since latest patch.

Also, a problem that persists on every system. Why is there no "compare" option when you pick up loot? I go to pick up loot, text box pops up, 92 dps, exit text box, bring up menu, click inventory, click weapons, scroll down to see what I have equipped, I have 100 dps weapon, exit weapons, exit inventory, exit menu, proceed game. That gets really annoying. The UI/interface or whatever the hell this thing is called, is really bad and annoying, way too much needless clicking around.

You know, after 4 months, I don't think there is anything left you can do to "fix" the game that won't just break it further. I forgive you. You failed, but first you have to admit and accept it before you can move on, or else a year will pass and still no story dlc. So you know what, just forget the patches, release story dlc, and let's move past this. Hopefully, Maker willing, you will take into account all this wonderful feedback, and do better with the next game.

Also, bring back the Warden.

@PB - You know that they have been ignoring us from day one. I have come to the conclusion that, seeing that now they are under EA tenure, they don't give a flying f*** about people on the old gen having problems and have no intention to rectify the situation.

Quite frankly is a very short sighted attitude. There are very few new gen console out there compared to the old gen ones, and given the present financial situation I don't expect there will be a huge growth in the sales of the new gen in the immediate future. Also people like us, whom have been long term fans of BW games, have financial commitment in real life and cannot really buy a new console in a whim 'cause they fancy a game. If that was possible I would have already bought an XBOXone. All that they have done with their attitude to is alienate us, which is maybe what they wanted so they could start afresh with a less demanding, casual, fanbase.

I was able to play the game, not because it was working and looked perfect but because I am a very stubborn person and wanted to know how it ended since I spent £54 for the (preordered) deluxe edition. I even booked a few days off work when it came out so that I could have 'proper' gaming sessions. I run into a graphic and sound glitch in the opening scene and it was downhill from there. At times the graphics were so bad that made me want to puke. Even the graphics of original xbox games (eg. Halo2, Max Payne, etc) looked better on the 360 that DA:I. I also discovered that the game had reset itself to the default difficulty after one of the countless freezes that I experienced. As I was quite far into the story, and had taken the habit to delete all saves but for the most recent one as it was suggested as a solution to avoid having too many technical problems, I had to kiss goodbye to my Nightmare PT. To date that is the one achievement that I'm missing 'cause I cannot face another PT.

PB, there are many threads in the forums with reviews of the game and list of everything that people did not like about the game. I don't want to spoil anything for you but I suggests you read them and then forget that this rubbish was ever put on the market. Hell, maybe even forget about the current incarnation of BW and just remember the good old times. I'm replaying Origins at the moment, which wasn't one my favorites at the time because of the combat and only did a couple of PT with a mage warden, but now, after having played DA:I, I am having so much fun with my dalish warrior, and that says a lot 'cause I'm always playing as a mage and never cared about the origin stories before  :)

wanted to reiterate that changing the size of subtitles did not solve the issue of small TEXT in the game. I can't see the war table missions. how can I assign advisors to these tasks if i can't even read it? Can't read codex entries. game was crashing a lot more after last update.

liked the tinter and storage in the Undercroft. other things still need attention though. it's shelved until i see progress on that because my eye straining to read the text, game crashing even MORE, and the lack of a space bar on PS3 for whatever reason when renaming crafted items isn't cool.

Yep, it changed quite small part of texts and I hoped more. You can't really not read War Table information and you would need to read journal for quests once a while as well and those aren't fixed nor the dialogue wheel itself.

Yeah, no space. Its annoying. I have a lot of complaints about this game, but I won't say too much more before I finish it. I'm disappointed and a little worried for mass effect 4.

So, I found a "fix" for the small text. As mentioned in my previous post, I let my friend borrow the game. Now, while I was at his house playing dai with him, the game had normal size text, the same found on next gen consoles and pc, and I started freaking out like "how the fuuu...!? is that a real ps3?" he mentioned to me that he has hdmi connecting his ps3 and tv, so that may be the reason why the text looks different on his tv. Now, just minutes ago, I tried it with my tv, and it worked... I've had multiple hdmi cables sitting around in my house for the past, what, maybe 10 years? And I only just now found a use for them... Crazy, right? My screen is in 1080i now, when since I first got my ps3 it's been only 480. It looks so beautiful.  :o The graphics look bad still, but the tv screen itself and ps3 home menu look noticeably different, I can't explain. So yeah, just wanted to share this revelation. I'm actually tempted to start a new playthrough just to be able to read all the codexes I was unable to read before.

Still, why must an hdmi cable be required just to be able to read the text in a game? Bioware needs to shape up.

Actually the text-size is not as much related to if you have HDM1 or SCART, I have had HDM1 years on PS3 after all. Also in the opening post: "This problem isn't related to SCART-cable nor SDTV, people with huge HDTV's with HDM1-cables have reported about same problem." Adding HDM1 cable and having HDTV helps, but they aren't really solution.. the text is still small for me, only subtitles are now okay, cause they can be adjusted (patch 5 gave us this option).

Not sure.  I play on Xbox 360 and fortunately do not have the disc unreadable error.  I just get the pop-up, some sound issues, camera no longer auto-centering on character you switch to (REALLY annoying during combat), less loot after Patch 5, etc.  IIRC, my Xbox 360 was manufactured sometime in late 2012 and in November 2014 I upgraded to a 500 GB HDD.  The only thing I can suggest is to delete the game data from the 360 HDD, but not your save game data obviously, and let the game data re-install.  There could be bad sectors on the 360 HDD, where your DAI data is currently located.  If that solves the problem for DAI, great.  If not, then I honestly don't know what to tell you.

Incidentally, have you contacted Bioware to...oh, wait, nevermind...For a second I forgot they pretend we don't exist...
