Yes, it came with patch 5. It changed only subtitle sizes either, not other texts like quests texts, wartable texts, dialogue wheel texts, codex texts etc. so it's just small fix.
Oh. Damn

Giving it one more try because..well, I paid full price for the damn thing at launch and after five months it might have improved a bit. You can start laughing now.
The person during the "they need your guilt" part of the intro the camera zooms in on still has no textures for their armor, and the Inquisition's big reveal is ruined because the logo on the banner still looks like someone blew up an 8-bit rendition of the Inquisition symbol like a thousand times in Photoshop.
..yup.
I think the character's faces actually load in the menu now, so hey, some progress, right?

Let me just say this... having seen the difference between what we get with old gens and what they intended graphically, there's absolutely no way whatsoever the graphics can get any better. I'm just saying this: even a brand new xbone is having trouble dealing with the coastal part of the Storm Coast. Sadly, there is no way to turn down graphics like you can with PCs, so I'm having to reload a stuck console every ten minutes approximately. There's so much rendering in the waves that it blows (the mind and the console). If you can put up with those graphics, go ahead and play, if not, well... it's not going to get better.
I have to say that new patches didn't help with hard freezes like I earlier stated. I got two today with my new character, one in Hinderlands and one in Storm Coast. In my earlier character I didn't get them in the ending half of game so maybe my system just gets freezes in first half for some reason.
And it's not like I can't pretend these either, game wasn't auto-saving, I wasn't in the battle or button smashing, I was just running around both times, so no way for me to predict and prevent these things.
So what I said earlier about patches fixing freezes, just ignore that ^^
I feel ya. MP don't freeze I'm playing that till they "hopefully" fix the game.
MP is fun kind of reminds of D2 in its hay day.

The problem is, there are a lot of games that look better than this. The other Frostbite ports don't have these kind of issues.
Hell, I made the mistake of playing Witcher 2 (Thanks, MS and CDPR!) in January while waiting for Bioware to get off it and fix DAI, and the 360 port of that game is better than Bioware's port of DAI by leaps and bounds.
My issue with things like this aren't that the graphics are bad - some of the scenery is wonderful - but that it fails on such basic levels. The two scenes mentioned are cutscenes, which usually look worse than it does in actual gameplay. I don't even get how you screw up basic texture loading like that when it happens every time. The reveal of the Inquisition is supposed to be this big thing, and it's completely botched because someone can't load a basic texture properly. The game is a mess, and it's the effort, not the hardware. It shipped with game-stopping bugs during pivotal plot scenes that weren't fixed until almost two months in - the dialogue for the big quest involving the Wardens had to be skipped every time because of the speed up/cutscene freeze bug, and it wasn't the only one.
I'm not expecting 4K resolution and modern graphics on a 360. What I am expecting is something that doesn't look straight out of a PS2 half the damn time because someone failed at basic coding. I'm not even sure the old version was playtested before launch.
I actually think environments in DAI look quite nice on PS3, but the biggest problem is characters. Their faces are low resolutions, there is texture pop-in's all the time during cutscenes, clipping is problem and then some clothing textures on characters is very bad, it's just big blocks on something you can't even identify. Characters to me at least are quite important, especially in Bioware's games so it's sad to see them looking like that. I'm sure that PS3 is capable to show characters faces properly without them being 240p resolution-wise ^^;
The freezing is just unfortunate. I'm lucky enough for not having it all the time, but it's frustrating when you have to restart your console, recover it and then get into game. I mean it takes 15 minutes at least to get back into game.

Far be it for me to disagree mate... I am having glitches and freezes because of graphical issues on the xbox one as well. It's ridiculous... as for Witcher 2, I hear you loud and clear.
Btw, I am typing right now while waiting for the motherfu... Flooded Cave in Crestwood to load its contents and unfreeze my character so I can possibly finish that mission, gods know if I manage. I've spent all day yesterday juggling with Storm Coast, where everything freezes once you hit the waterline. As you said, the game is VERY SLOPPY.

issues with new gen too?
Yup, people on new gens have been complaining left, right and center lately. Another reason why I won't buy it again when I upgrade.
Any more patches due??
They don't really care about us.
Any more patches due??
I don't know when there is coming new patches, but there should be in some point since Black Emporium is still not added in the game.
Any more patches due??
Patch 7 is being tested and will likely be released around the same time that The Black Emporium (all platforms) and Jaws of Hakkon (for Xbox 360 / PS3 and PS4). All we know currently is that TBE is being released sometime in May, 2015. There is some speculation that Patch 7 will be included with TBE. Bioware initially was at least hoping to include TBE with an earlier Patch (Patch 5), but technical issues prevented that from happening...
Posting on here to share my frustration. Hell, is it wrong to want to complain a bit?
So I haven't played in about a month, because last time I did I got about 20 minutes into the quest I was doing in the Storm coast before my game went kaput. But I decided to try again today, since the frustration had long left me. And what do you know? I get further than I've ever gotten before, and I come to the brilliant conclusion that I should probably save. But first, I'll do that Astrarium over there! Or, you know, stare at a black screen for 15 minutes before finally coming to the sad, sad conclusion that it's never coming back. I think I'm just going to leave the Storm Coast forever. It's cursed. At least for my PS3, it is.
*sigh* Their master plan has worked. You're all caving in upgrading and buying another copy of the game *sigh*
Hey guys... I currently play DAI on my ps3, I'm about 20-25 hours in, and haven't experienced any crashes or freezes or corrupted save files or anything similar. And also, I use to play for long period of times... like even 4-5 hours sometimes
Maybe I am just lucky... I have a phat model (40gb Hdd - upgraded to 500gb ) which i own for about 5-6 years now...and I bought my console second hand, not new..
I never had any freezes or crashes with any graphical intense games out there... like The Last of Us, Uncharted series, etc... never
What I did about 2 years ago to my console, and I think that it helps , are the following:
- Opened my console and cleanded the dust out from it
- I changed the thermal paste
- I bought the 19 blade fan and replaced the original 17 blade fan from my ps3 ( http://www.ebay.com/...s3-19-blade-fan )
- I also bought the "Evercool Defender Turbo Cooling Fan" which from what i understand sucks the heat out from the ps3, and you can really fell the difference.. no more heat coming out from the console top side (http://www.amazon.co...V46XXE309GYAK3T)
So, as you can see, I kind of did anything that can be done to avoid overheating problems for my ps3, and it paid out for me... now, I can't be sure that the above steps will help anyone who experience crashes or freezes with this game, but I think it helped me a lot... Again, maybe the problems with Dragon Age that i read about in this thread are not related to console overheating, I am no expert in this stuff.. but who knows...hopefully you will find my post somewhat usefull
Thanks Art86, I think Panda may find your suggestions useful. Unfortunately freezing is just one of the many problems people on old gens have been experiencing. Have a look at the OP, where many of them are listed, and let us know if there is any problem that you may have experienced as well.
