I don't mean to sound rude or anything, but you are playing a new game on hardware that is around 7 or 8 years outdated. DA:I is not a very stable game, I have a new custom PC built December 2014 with the latest hardware and I do get stability issues and hit a few bugs and even had the game crash before (not often, maybe once or twice) but this is a $2500 PC. I can only imagine that it would run abysmally on console. I'm really not sure what Bioware were thinking with DA:I, they keep saying it's a PC optimised game, yet the controls and camera really aren't PC friendly.

TL;DR this game was optimised for hardware that some consoles cannot handle and it's simply because the hardware is too outdated for the game's mechanics and engine.

Frostbite is a turd, not the old consoles. Gta 5 runs beautifully on my ps3 and that game is far more complex than inquisition. Same with Skyrim. Inquisition looks slightly better than a ps2 game. But Bioware and the rest of the EA developers supposedly unanimously agreed to develop games using only frostbite 3. No prompting from EA whatsoever! I find that hard to believe.

I am glad that Bioware upgraded to Frostbite.  DAI exploration is beautiful on PC, and is fortunately not confined to narrow pathways like DA2.

That said, I believe that last-gen DAI customers deserve an upgrade discount so as not to pay full price for a game twice.

Well guys, I have just reached my breaking point with EA and Bioware, bought this game on christmas for my fatty PS3, it broke my PS3 and had to buy a new one (was saving for a PS4 and a new PC). Game runs horribly, like I was playing it on my computer (which is bad), crashes, weird screeching noises coming out from the TV, not bad graphics but early PS2 era graphics, bugs, glitches.....and now the recent news about EA asking last gen owners to buy the game again for the newer systems (and the consoles if they don't have it), so nope, I'm not jumping on this wagon.

From now on I will completely stop supporting any EA/Bioware products, just sold everything with a EA label on it, and bought Jak and Daxter trilogy and Geometry Wars 3, and I'm having a blast. I hope people who will still be playing DA:I on last gen will see the game finally without any problems whatsoever, it was a bumpy ride.

I've basically done the same. I refuse to buy another BioWare/EA product.
Unless it's used, but no more DLCs, no more "new" purchases. This company doesn't respect me as a customer? I won't fork over a cent.

Sucks your PS3 died because of a shoddy game. I'm starting to think companies in general need to be held accountable for spontaneous console deaths.

(I suppose that's impossible to track though)

You plunk a few hundred for a console only to have it die because of a game? Geez.

My copy (which is a PS3) of DA:I runs beautifully compared to some of the crap others have gone through. The only thing I've suffered from is textures not loading in, audia blips and lack of banter.

Also Jak & Daxter FTW!

GTA V was originally made for last-gen, so that point is invalid.

I can't agree more. Now with last-gen support being dropped I feel like it's as good a time as any to take a break from this series as well as others from EA and move onto other games. I thought it was just me getting those weird screeching noises from my TV (only happens with DA:I) but I guess it's a last-gen thing.

and from this day forward buy any game that says "EA" on the box used as to not give them money.  Treat them as a company as bad as they treat you as a fan/paying customer.

Totally agreed. They're not apologizing for their mistake by having no foresight whatsoever, they're demanding customers spend MORE money in order to get the product they were promised--twice as much, in fact. Wow! Sure makes getting a console or a computer that can run the game easier when you have to tack on the extra price of a full game!

But the EA CEO contends he "Puts Players First".  LOL

Community feedback is a great tool for us as developers, and something we have always valued highly. There is a balance between creative freedom and community desires, but that in no way invalidates its worth.

How can this be true if we've been complaining about the state of the game on old gen, and have yet to see any improvemnt on performance in our respective platforms?, I can understand Bioware employees wanting to avoid harrassment, and totally agree with them on that, BUT let's face it, how mcuh time has passed since this game came out? and it still runs badly on old gen, and there has been no official word from you guys on the subject aside from telling us we're not getting more DLC, which i don't care for,as long as you fix the vanilla game, remember we already paid for that at the very least.

Well, Dragon Age Inquisition was also originally made for last-gen. It was ALSO released on the new consoles. The fact that they prioritized the newer machines doesn't change the fact that they launch the game in the older platforms too.

If only the cutscenes ran correctly, and the audio didn't clip, or cut or fall behind, i'd be content with that.

My game freezes sound and when you try loading again completely after use of the black emporium. WTF? It didn't do that before. And the key search on the exalted plains don't work so no entering the closed cave with a mosaik tile. The bugs are piling up these last 2 weeks. Is this on purpase? To force you buying a next gen? Because if it is I'd probebly start boycotting the whole thing.

So what? If they couldn't make the game of acceptable quality for last gen, it should have not been released on last gen. My point was and is that da i is not too complex of a game for the old machines and blaming the old systems is just an excuse.

It's somewhat ironic that last dev post that was half year ago did promise that: "I'm working on ways we can get more information out to the gen3 players." And well no more information has really come after that.

I have that problem as well. When I enter the emporium, the sound goes mute when I want to buy something and the animals stay in one spot not moving at all.  Once I fast travel to another location the sound is completely mute an when I exit the game it locks up causing me to shut off the console and then turn it back on. This started after I downloaded the newest patch.

Thanks for the link.

At least Bioware is aware of the problem. I guess its a matter of how long it takes to get fixed

I'm trying to get as many people as possible to me too that thread, few people here care to help us though, Bioware seems to be aware of the issue, although i'm not sure they care enough to solve it...

As I have purchased a ps4 earlier in the month after a gamestop deal, I was pushing off getting Inquisition after the fiasco they are currently pulling, and have done with the last gen.  But then I walked into a shop on South Street in Philly that was selling it for $20.  Figuring that was a decent enough of a price, I went for it.  I'll just give it a play through after I finish the Witcher 3.  Will not give up the fight for the last gen'ers though.

Updated OP with information of drop of DLC and patch support for old gen. The issue list is somewhat useless now since Bioware won't be fixing anything on it anymore, well and even sadder they didn't really fix anything on it in the first place. I guess it might stay as warning for new players who might think of buying DAI still on old gen and are searching information how it works on old gen and as reminder of how Bioware operates.

I'm somewhat.. sad about this whole thing though. I did this thread with worry, but also with good faith, expecting Bioware devs to read about the problems and come up with fixes. During many months after release I have felt like bad guy for complaining and talking to the wall that is Bioware and the feeling that was left is that I was nuisance to Bioware, something irritating that keeps complaining over something they didn't even think of fixing first place. Eh sorry, that this post became like this. I just guess I feel defeated, sad and betrayed by Bioware and large part of it's fanbase as well. Though I will stick around forums since there is lot of nice people even if I don't have much love towards Bioware anymore, it's funny how one gamerelease can destroy all of it :P

I play on an old xbox 360 pro (the white one with the chrome disk tray) and i have no lag issues or anything with DAI in solo play or multiplayer. i even have all the dlcs that are available for the 360 and am deeply disappointing in bioware and EA sports for not proving support for those counsel...  its like their taking a **** on their players... We paid for the full game and have the rights to all of the dlcs... thats like cod decided that they didnt want to support the map packs on 360 or PS4 any more and screw everyone playing on those counsels. I love DA i have played since the start and actually own all the DLC on all the old games too. which makes them doing this all the more disappointing. Take care of your customers or you can lose them like WOW is right now lost 1.5 mil subscribers
