They have said that they will patch last gen and are looking on issues. But that answer was very vague. They haven't said at all what problems will be patched and what time line. But they said they will start with performance issues so that game is playable for people so I doubt they will do at least graphic uprages just yet.

As long as I can play the damn thing I'll be happy! Just wish they'd give us a rough time-line on when we can expect to play a game we paid for and expected to be able to play out of the box.

Seems like the game becomes more playable the further into the game you get.

I've been getting pretty much the exact opposite impression from people's posts.

Yeah it's the opposite for me. My first thirty hours were completely free of game shattering glitches (if you don't count bad sound, textures/pop-in)until I got to Skyhold.

The information of DAI in PS3 and XBOX 360 is currently shattered in many different threads which might make it hard for BW to address and get view how severe the problems really are so I decided to do this thread.

Not everyone is having same problems and there is lot of inconsistency: some have severe problems and some just some bugs.

There is some issues I have gathered people having:

  • Black screens, crashing and freezing game
  • Sound problems: there is no sound, sound is lacking behind, dialogue has errors or doesn't come out right times, random sounds clitches. Happens in all background music, dialogue and sounds.
  • Save files problems: corrupted, can't load some or any saves.
  • Textures don't load properly or at all, texture pop-in's.
  • Frame-rate drops.
  • Major lag issues.
  • Dialogue wheel problems, sometimes dialogue has to be skipped in order of game to continue.
  • Can't complete guests cause some parts of them won't load.
  • Enemies don't load or they don't attack player
  • Overall graphics are low.
  • Multiplayer gliches a lot and is unplayable for some.
  • Loading times are huge (over 20 min for some just to save the game)
  • Problems of reading the texts; it's too small and/or blurry.
  • Clipping issues: arms go through weapons or torso, chin goes through armor etc.
  • Lighting issues: in some places too dark to see (dungeons), in some places too much light.
  • There is no scars in CC  (not sure if bug or intentionally removed)
  • No digital download or installing game on HDD for 360.
  • Saves won't load, saving game freezes/crashes the game.
  • Some area's are having massive lags and freezes that makes them impossible to play.
  • Black screens during tactical camera.
  • Disk unreadable- error on 360.

Highlighted one's are problems that lot of player are having (and I don't think anyone on old gen even has scars in CC).

Playing on PS3, I think it's one of the first models that was released. Highlighted my current issues. I knew it would be a downgrade from next-gen but holy moly I didn't except it to be this bad! I'm loving the game, but the Mass Effect 1 style clipping and low quality texturing issues are really really bad! Not to mention very distracting.

Edit: I'll point out that I'm also playing the disk version on a HDTV with a HDMI1 adapter. And sometimes it takes ages for some areas and characters to fully materialize. For example, textures after textures will load slowly and I can't move my character until it's fully loaded. Also, the characters are extremely low-res most of the time, especially during big mission quests like the final Haven mission. All in all, it does make the game feel very cartoony at times.

I've been playing DA:I on the 360 for a few hours now, and frankly I'm tempted just to throw it in the trash. It's buggy, the textures don't load properly, and the text is blurry and barely readable, even on a huge TV.

Bioware, why did you even bother to release it on last gen consoles? Instead of tempting me to get a next gen console and enjoy a great experience, I'm sitting here full of anger and rage, feeling ripped off. By the sheer volume of posts here, you must be able to tell there are a number of players who are struggling through.

I feel cheated.

I'm making it my mission to inform all those i know with older consoles not ot purchase DA:I.

Notice I said throw it in the trash, not sell it second hand...  I'd rather not inflict this mess on another person.

I have been a huge fan of your previous titles, but that ends today.

Do other players feel the same? Feel free to speak up.

I admit I do feel a bit cheated, mainly because of the total mess that is the cartoony graphics on last-gen consoles. Certainly not what I expected from Bioware. I actually did have half a mind to sell my copy and buy a PS4 along with a PS4 copy of the game, but sadly I won't be doing that. Still, I'm enjoying it far more that Dragon Age 2 and Mass Effect 3, which is great! But of course, these are glaring issues that need to be fixed!

I now apologise for my previous comment's, i thought people were just having abit of a cry over nothing after watching some PS3 gameplay videos from String910 on youtube

But the most i had seen was the snow area, and the hinterland's, which when i compared side by side with the ps4 version, the hinterlands looked stunning on the ps3, very well textured, ran very smoothly. and everything looked nice

Then i saw another video, i cant remember who or were this was, it was a greeny area but not hinterlands, and everything in the distance was lacking AA, popping textures, and it looked almost downgraded

So it seem's some zones look very similiar to the ps4 counterpart, and then some lack, and then corrupted saves and issues like freezing. yeah now i get why you guys are upset

and tbh then i look at a game like far cry 4 which takes full advantage of the ps3 and some area's look absolutely stunning and most of the game look's excellent

I definatly think DA:I Need's a patch, but i also still think that all these problem's can be fixed with a patch, lets just hope bioware notices

I get the feeling that Bioware merely allows this thread to exist so people can vent but not that they care about it. -_-

Once again I'm glad I trusted my instincts and decided to wait a few days to see how the last gen versions turned out before buying it. Best dang decision I ever made. Take this as a lesson, when a game company is going out of their way to avoid showing a specific version of an upcoming game... It usually means that version is complete sh!t and they know it, and they're intentionally not showing anything of it so that they get people to buy it before they realize it's awful. When I saw Bioware doing that with the last gen versions, I get suspicious. And the longer they went without showing those versions, the more suspicious I got. That's why I chose to wait and see before committing to buying it. In the end, my instincts were right.

Not saying I think you asked for it by trusting a beloved game company to not screw you over. I'm also not saying you should have known better. It wasn't your fault. But remember this lesson well, be wary when a game company is being secretive with a specific version of their game because that usually spells trouble.

And you're probably right. They knew it was crap before they even released it, their absolute silence on the last gen versions before release proves that. They don't care, they got your money before you knew what you was getting and now your usefulness has ended. It's like a used care salesman who knows they're selling a car that will break in the first 5 miles of driving it, they got your money and that's all they care about. Only way they'll start caring is if enough people jump on them to actually hurt their reputation, but since the last gen buyers are the minority of DAI players... That is unlikely.

Don't know if anyone has said this yet, and am too lazy to read 18 pages after food coma, so..

I just beat the main story the other day, and my biggest issue was dialogue freezing on characters. I had to skip scenes, and didn't even get subtitles for most of it, so I missed some big scenes like my romance scene with Cassandra, I had to mash the skip button half-way through and sometimes it just froze. Took three tries to even get through it, and I missed half the dialogue.

Also, when I completed the main story and got to the cut scene after the big bad boss battle, a lot of weird things happened, it didn't freeze but I got to see some weird camera shots, like for a few moments the camera panned between my Inquisitor smirking and then some stairs, and a wall. After wards, when my inquisitor walked inside the throne room, he started talking to somebody without and sound at all, and this somebody didn't appear, nor did I get subtitles for what he was saying. The only reason I figured this out is my Inquisitor eventually had subtitles appears that gave clues to the fact he was talking to somebody else.

And I did try both re-installing the game to my hard drive, and multiple save files. I could get over the other bugs, but the dialogue and especially that end-game cut scene seeming almost unfinished with how buggy it was really irked me. And, I haven't seen anything about a patch for any other platform then PC with my goggle searches.

Loved the game till I hit these cut scene problems, and I'm dreading starting my second play through right now.

Now that I know how old gen versions is, I wonder if they were shamed to even show anything about it. We kept asking, next gen people kept defending BW saying of cource they can't release old gen stuff and it will be good, and now that we finally know how bad the situation is next gen people say it's our fault for trusting BW. Like thanks a lot guys for screwing us over ^^; (Not every user but I have seen quite many here commenting stuff like that).

Honestly, I don't blame that the old gen stuff is going to be buggy. I except it, the game is so friggin' resource heavy and the old gen hardware is 10+ years old now. But, seriously, cut scenes so bad it looks like they didn't even finish it? That seems more like just 'we gotta ship it, hopefully they won't notice' type deal. I just hope 360 won't be left to rot like with the Awakening armor bug.

The thing that bothers me as well is that BW has been asking PC people to provide information on the problems so they can fix those in various threads. But they haven't been asking that from old gen players as well. They seem to be oblivious of the problems (Mika Laidlaw at 22th didn't know anything about text issue, just thought it was because of SDTV) and still they don't want our info about those at all unlike with PC people. How they can fix things they don't know about?

i know ull all probably shoot me for saying this

But have you all considered starting a twitter/facebook, a change.org petition, like i mean, you have to put pressure on the company if you really want them to notice

Like i mean, if everybody in this thread had a twitter account and messaged the developers with there issues, they would be flooded with messages and we know they would have to see that, they check there twitters, bioware developers have personal twitter accounts and answer questions there

Maybe there just not actively watching the forums

But i have to say, what shocks me still is how. you can be in one part of hinterlands and it looks just like the PS4 version, almost identicle bar some lighting and sun shafts

And then u go further down the hill of hinterlands and it becomes like a PS2 game

i just dont see how the hell thats even possible to make that sort of mistake in developement, why not re-use the high res textures that look good for the entirety of the area? like i mean, what?

in that video, if you watch at 19:25 around there, i think it look's absolutely amazing and high definition in the textures, especially on the rocks and the blur/smooth framerate is really nice

I havn't purposly looked for a video to show the downgraded quality area's, but thats an example of what i mean by some of the game is extremely beautiful to look at

Yea, that pisses me off alot. I bought the collector's edition for nearly $200 and I'm regretting the $70 game that was the meat of it more then the $100 chest with some silly fake quill and lock picking kit. I mean, what the friggin' hell Bioware. I know PC gamers tend to be the most vocal, doing everything they can, but sheesh, if your pc version has some bugs, you'd think the versions on ten year old hardware would be worrisome too.

The fact that laidlaw didn't know about the text issue, or the fact that TV size doesn't seem to have much to do with it tells me two things:

1) It was never really tested on last gen

2) They are not concerned with last gen players

You could say the game can't really run on last gen, and there's a debate to be had there.  What is not debatable IMO is that treating someone who paid full price for your game like second class is unacceptable.  It certainly doesn't entice me to upgrade to a better system and version.  I'm not the kind to say "I got mine, screw everyone else".

I don't think it has been mentioned on this thread before, my sincerest apollogies if it has, but does anybody else playing as an male elf have a weird glitch on their characters left ear? It looks like a face from the scalp/head model sticks out instead of properly aligning with the rest of the head, making it look like my elf has a weird flap of flesh hanging in his ear...

I should probably also mention that this happens on all male elfs in CC. (For me at least)

The flap of skin is on humans and dwarves. Only the right ear.

I think they got the extension because it was a big release date. A bunch of major games got released that week. Ive also told people to wait until after xmas before buying

I expect a patch next week

Why is this game more system demanding than skyrim on the 360?

Skyrim graphics are better?
Not seeing a lot more enemies on screen?
Da always had 4 companions
Still get loading screens although less in smaller buildings but those are mostly static with 99% of npcs stuck in place
Cutscenes are separate and mostly the same as da1 and 2

Couldnt the bethesda engine give us the same game (360)

I would love to know what percentage of market us older consoles are? Is it over 30%
