Actually the question was about old gen though so I think it's fair to say they said they will be patching old gen too. I guess i should include question too..

I guess I might have more faith if it weren't revealed that they haven't been paying any attention to what we're asking for.

Doh! Why didn't you say so? Phew, now I feel a boat load better... yes, please include question.

Thanks so much for this, that really has put my mind at ease- was about to start writing old school real world letters to people and setting up a petition- now I'll hang fire on that. Hopefully we'll hear something concrete shortly.

Sorry it took so long, I have been little busy ^^;
Okay, so after 30 hours of playing on the Xbox 360, I have some things I want to rant about.
Sorry, this is pretty long.

"...in terms of the aesthetic of the game they should be the same across platforms."
This is what really disappoints me. They claim that they've worked hard to get the graphics quality similar on previous-gen consoles seamlessly (and I believe them), but the fact of the matter is that, despite their supposed efforts, the game looks half-assed. The least they could have done was tell us up-front the exact quality of the previous-gen games instead of only saying it looks "worse." I would have been much less disappointed if Bioware decided to go next-gen only and given me enough time to save up for a new console. Instead, I preordered a game that was promised to be just as good.
I knew the 360 version wasn't going to look as good as the Xbox One/PS4 versions, but playing a game where every character with black hair looks like they're wearing a helmet, Iron Bull has the skin texture of a ME1 Krogan, Dorian's mustache grows from the inside of his nose, textures not loading, and many more issues are present (that I can't remember because it's late when I'm writing this). I'm not even going to mention the clipping, freezing, failing to load, and all the other techincal issues.
I realizie that graphics don't take precedence over plot, don't judge a book by its cover, looks aren't everything, etc., but it certainly takes a significant role in terms of overall game quality. When you first start up a game, the story isn't what grabs your attention. In fact, you don't know what's going on until after the first couple minutes after the CC. I'm no game designer, but I'd think the first thing you want your players to feel is "I wonder what's going on. Is my character in the Fade or something?", not "why the hell does my inquisitor have metal hair." I wouldn't even mind if it was average, ME3 graphics, but outdated, DA2-era graphics only work to take away from the quality of a great game. What's especially bad is seeing the game after all the high-quality content Bioware's shown us so far. Now, all I can think of when I see the new areas is "Wow, I wonder how good this could have looked."
Then there's this:

We're not missing anything on previous-gen? I only just got to Skyhold, but here's what I've noticed so far:
-No scars in CC
-No freckles in CC
-Less NPC's (from what I've learned from this thread)
And possibly more that I haven't noticed yet. But thank God we have 10 different eyelash options
Despite the length of this post, I'm not usually one for posting rants (I've made only 3 replies since I signed up). I have been frustrated, angry, and sad at games before, but I have never felt disappointment, especially for one of my favorite game series. And, hell, I was one of the guys satisfied with ME3’s ending. Don’t get me wrong, the story is amazing. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have played 30 hours. However, this inferior quality of previous-gen versions keep me from enjoying it to the fullest. I realize I'm probably preaching to the choir here, and most people probably skipped this over after seeing how long it is, but, I felt that I really needed to say this. And, on the off-chance that someone from Bioware reads this, please please please give us something. This one of the best games I have ever had the privilege of playing, and I thank you for all of your hard work. (sorry if I got anything wrong. like I said, I'm typing this late at night.)
Sorry it took so long, I have been little busy ^^;
No worries- it's not your job to keep us informed- that'd be Bioware's... ![]()
-No freckles in CC
Are you sure that there is no freckles? They should be on complexion. I haven't heard about no freckles on old gen before.. I just hope it aint so cause i have planned one character with freckles that I want to play : /

There is no freckless in CC, trust me..... There is a complexion with and without fleckless in PC/next gen console.
While in the old gen selecting it remains the same.

Oh noes. My idea of qunari with nice beard, freckles and ram horns is pretty much ruined by old gen versions then : / Beards look like **** and I can't even have freckles ![]()
How has this beeen revealed?
According to info from Panda, Laidlaw was utterly unaware of anyone having any issues reading the text. He coughed up the usual (and useless) "get a better TV". When pushed on the fact that people with perfectly good TV's were still having issues, he noodled into "oh..we'll look into it".
Conclusion: They aren't listening.

That guy (Laidlaw) sounds like a total and utter douche bag....

There are freckles on the human- it depends on what complexion/ tone of skin whether you can see them or not as they are very subtle especially if you're making the character highest paleness or darkest skintone setting- easier to see when set in middle, but they are v. subtle.
My character has freckles on the xbox 360... it's just a pity I can't see them- because the game crashes every TEN minutes!
i like what you say, i just dont know if they actually gonna do something for us, so far they have ignored us completely, wouldnt you agree? at least in here.
I definitely agree with you. ![]()
If they do patch last gen the issues and bugs mentioned would likely have been taken in to account as well as next gen issues.
I suppose the graphical aspect could be improved like making hair less shiny and more defined by blending or something and beards not look like they are just glued in place. Just speculation of course. ![]()
I will play the game anyway, I will wait for a patch first. As long as I can get to the end of the game ill be happy even if textures are low.
Just for clarification, are hair textures this bad for other people or is it a problem with my Xbox? (or a bit of both)
Well, they're this bad on the PS3 at least.

Spoiler
Well, they're this bad on the PS3 at least. When you move and the lighting changes does he look like he's wearing a helmet with hair painted on it?
Game magazines have realised problem on old gen with DAI as well: http://www.gamereact...es on Xbox 360/
Problems listed in the article:
Could BW make a statement for issues already? I don't think few tweets are really enough for these various problems.

- Performance: Game crashes frequently, objects disappear/appear, long loading times.
- Graphics: textures especially underwhelming.
I wonder how long patches usually take? It has been soon two weeks from release. It'd be nice to have some timing of the first patch and also info if it will include old gen patch too and even info about what issues will be fixed would be nice. But maybe they are going to do big patch first to fix many problems so that's why it's taken time.

It can take long sadly. Expecially since they're working on five platforms.
