Haha, I feel you man I'm a P3 player and I remember how long it took Bethesda to get Skyrim patched and working and that's not counting all the time it took for them to get the expansion packs to work on the P3( almost a year :-) )

Been a fan of Bioware since Jade Empire on the original xbox- it's nice to find a company that makes something on a console that has characters that are as fun and well written as superior fluff like Game of Thrones. Never had them deliver a product that just didn't work before... I've been looking forward to this since DA2- which I actually enjoyed despite it's shortcomings, so I'm somewhat gutted at the moment.

Interested to see how quickly they announce a release date for patches. Obviously they don't want a lot of us complaining about this vocally in the run-up to Xmas- so there will be vague placatory corporate info. bursts. On the other hand they won't announce dates for  patches until they know it will be a short turn around before they can release them. If they came out now and said it will take 3 months before the patch, in the period leading up to Xmas, that doesn't help sales either. That's why I think we hit a brick wall in terms of engagement... no, move along, nothing to see, the game works for most people... I hope they realise after ME3 that the community can get very loud. Especially as this isn't a question of personal tatse but whether something is fit for purpose. I believe they will address these issues, I hope I'm not wrong. I've always enjoyed being a gamer, never wanted to be a beta tester and certainly not an angry customer, especially when there are more socially important things to campaign about than poor coding.

According to the twitch video Panda posted, one of the devs said that their first patch for all platforms is in the final stage for testing. Patches usually comes out every Tuesday right? So my guess is next week.

The fact that Bioware games are pretty much the standard for character writing in games makes it all the worse when they screw up like this...

I experience most of these problems on the 360. The first 5 mins in the game was a disappointment for me. The graphics were awful for a 360 game. I also notice later in the game the audio coming in and out while in combat or when you spoke to someone their speech might jam up together. Cutscenes would freeze than I would have to force skip causing to miss some dialogue. The companions were falling from the sky and weird glitches such as teleporting npcs. (Spoiler) But the thing that really left a sour taste was the ending after beating the ok boss. The cutscene had my character talking to an invisible person. I have no clue who it was or what was said. All I know he shook the air hand. The dialogue wheel appear to make a choice of word. After that I really don't want this game anymore. I really like Bioware but this game is a mess. I did enjoy it, I just don't understand why this game has so many issues.

Well, I am finally buying a PS4 with an Inquisition copy. Hopefully by doing this my Inquisition gameplay experience will be improved tenfold.

Bioware must be happy, considering I forked money for PS3 digital version and now I am forking money for PS4 retail version :P

I am on an Xbox 360 Slim with the big hard drive USA. I am using a disk from the deluxe edition.

I consistently experience a game freeze at the Redcliff gates just after closing the rift. I've done this about four times now and the game freezes there each time. Everyone's hair is really shiny.

Things just pop in, people drop out of the sky, bushes show up out of nowhere, that sort of thing.

Long Loading times, particularly when moving from region to region or in and out of Redcliff or other big areas.

Experiencing freezes when accessing the quest map, particularly later in the game.

Experiencing random freezes...randomly.

Scrambled dialogue in cut scenes.

Adamant cut scene dialogue can completely freeze (it's happened twice now). I cannot "X" through it, and I have to reload.

Pushing "A" doesn't always get dialogue when it should.

Looting is very touchy, I end up doing a lot of extra "A" pushing to get it right.

Quest marker on one of the caches in the apostates cache quest is misplaced, making it appear as though the cache is on top of the ridge instead of just outside the gates of the fortress. That cost me about two hours of search time.

(I wish loot would sparkle)

Just got a reply to my last message that I sent to Conal Pierse who had asked for a comprehensive list of the errors I was experiencing with Inquisition- (and as I'd mentioned I'd keep you guys informed I'm sure he won't mind me posting it here.)

This was his reply:

"Thanks for update. Also, have you posted your issue on answers HQ?

They may be able to help you troubleshoot and can also identify where your issue might be. If you have posted there already, please let me know and send me a link to the thread.

Also, you mentioned that you've seen other people experiencing this same issue? Are you able to link me to any threads on this (in our forums or elsewhere) where you have participated?

Sorry for all the questions, I just want to make sure I have as much information as possible on this."

Now from this reply I guess they haven't collated all of the issues we're having yet, so if we do get a patch by next week I doubt It'll address all of them. Here's my reply:

"

Haven't posted on Answers HQ because I saw other people posting there and answers given were what I'd already tried ie dleting cache, reinstalling etc- so I presumed I would just have to wait for patch to get a fix.

With the Bioware forums, the main one has been:

http://answers.ea.co...60/td-p/4024589

The above has a comprehensive list at the start of the thread about issues on both xbox360 and ps3

Then there is this for PS3:

http://forum.bioware...s-and-thoughts/

And this for Xbox 360:

http://forum.bioware...common-problem/

Then going back to Answers HQ:

This is typical of people not getting answers at Answers HQ:

http://answers.ea.co...60/td-p/4024589

And this - which has some trivial issues- (bug bears with intended stuff that should simply be expected given this is old gen) in amongst the stuff that actually counts.

http://answers.ea.co...4002191#U400219

You can see by the last comment, the kind of bad PR these issues are generating.

Hope that all that helps, glad to be of assistance if it leads to a resolution- damn I'm begining to sound like I work in customer services, but I am being sincere."

Which I am. But I really need to work on my tone in messages- it's terrible. Anyway will keep you posted if he gets back again.

When a developer tells you to find him a thread with people posting about issues, it just reinforces the idea that they aren't even trying.

I have to say that, that's pretty weird for me too. Like why are we even doing these threads if none in BW reads them? And they keep saying to post in Answers thread which is technical support subforum for DAI here (that takes you there) but if they don't even read things there why they keep asking us to post issues there? Cause all these issues listed in this thread can be also found in 25+ pages long patch for PS3 and XBOX360 thread.

Im looking at some character creation threads and wow did old gen get the middle finger. I have one beard preset that looks like one of those fake beards you buy at a cheap halloween store. Its clear they didnt even look at beards and hair. Not even close in new gen. Check out the cc thread

And this is the reasson of why I get upset when developers don't even try or care enough to see the issues , specially if we have been pointing them out in their own forums

I'm guessing one guy in one dept is looking at one set of threads, another guy in another dept, and so on, maybe? They then each think the problem is small potatoes- only affects a small percentage of people-when the truth is that even all of these threads collated is just the tip of the iceberg. Go outside this forum and search on google with some great deal of patience and you start to see people complaining here and there on xbox forums or in passing on facebook etc... You have to collate evidence together before people take notice, that's why I'm glad you put up this thread and I could pass it on. but you're right, they should be redaing through all this stuff anyway. They asked for our opinions and feedback on tech. issues and this is a popular thread. It has more than 25 and a half thousand views!

The reviews of old gen version of the game aren't high and everyone is warning about bugs and clitches that old gen versions have. I think it should be time for BW really address these issues. Many poor players bought the game blind since none of "official" reviews were about old gen and BW didn't show us anything either, but finally there is reviews by people themselves and they aren't happy what the game is on old gen so that other customers can be warned. I can just hope that on next tuesday there would be patch.

you know, just saying but old gen isnt exactly quite "old" considering how frostbite engine has worked on xbox/ps3 consoles it just need good optimization and it should be good! but no, they didnt even show us any footage at all, they didnt tested this version of the game either so thats why now we are the ones testing it for them, which to me is not a good practice.

Regardless of Bioware's faults on the last gen versions (Which I agree), the 360 and the ps3 are old, both in years and specifics.

yes they are old, but even so this engine that they used for the game has been used before in those consoles, so i dont see why the issue now? example skyrim is big game as well and it uses frostbite, it had bugs and glitches too but at least they fixed it and im not sure if they were worst than what we have.

Skyrim doesn't use the Frostbite engine. Before DAI the Frostbite Wasn't used on rpg, only in shooters.
Skyrim was full of bugs and glitches on release, both minor and gamebreaking. And their first patches didn't fix the whole problems at all. They even introduced new bugs. It took months to fix all the problems.

Skyrim does not use frostbite. It's also a bad example, and here's why.

In order to develop and and optimize Skyrim to run reasonably well on Xbox, it was hobbled on the PC. The limitations imposed in order to maximize it on the vastly underpowered older hardware are such that even on a very powerful PC, one that should be able to handle a beautiful, heavily modded game, the performance is pretty atrocious. It requires a bunch of fiddling to fix the memory allocation, and eventually (because it's a 32bit program and cannot benefit from more than 4gb RAM), you hit the memory limit. The game hangs, you crash, or it's rendered virtually unplayable due to low frame rate. Those beautiful screenshots that people post - if you play the game like that, it would be a slide show. On my PC, Inquisition, a beautiful game from 2014, runs exponentially better than Skyrim, a (potentially) beautiful game from 2011.

Bioware obviously optimized for new gen systems and PC at the expense of the old gen - and it's for the best. And let's face it - eventually you're gonna have a game that you want to play, but can't. Eventually, you've just gotta upgrade.

EA should not have released the games on old gen systems though. That was a mistake.

Hopefully BW is going to fix DAI up as well as Skyrim was fixed since at least in my PS3 Skyrim has never had any problems apart of some random clitches like my dead horse magically returning to stable (not a bad clitch that one ^^). No performance and no graphical issues. I hope same for DAI.

right on the skyrim engine is not the same as frostbite, sorry for that mistake i have my brain cells in various stuff xD , although you could say the engines arent that much different in terms of sandbox feeling and the graphics are nice as well but different engines, and yeah the frostbite has been used for need for speed, battlefield 3 and other shooter games but cmon if they implemented the game for old gens it means its duable and possible to optimize it properly while lowering but not degrading much the graphics either, you may call this old gen of consoles old but they really squeezed up the engines that they worked on very well so far.
