How big is this patch? Is it better in Physical or Digital form? Planning on getting this after Christmas.

Well the patch don't seem to be working properly.. especially for PC people. Some on old gen have said that game runs smoother than it did, but some seem to have more crashes and freezes than before. I guess the patch needs patch. So umm If I was you I wouldn't trust too much this patch 2 to fix issues. It was mostly PC patch and seemed to do more dmg than good.

wow, so PC seems to be having patch issues huh. So far the patch has been working fine for my ps3. Much smoother. Scanning for items is also a lot better, they appear on the little radar in the corner now :3

The patch could still be better, but for now I'm alright with it

So, I played after the patch yesterday and I daresay I had just as many, if not more issues. :(

Rumbling still not working. Crashed twice. Had more numerous audio glitches where it sounds like they are backwards talking. And now my bards in taverns don't sing. :s

Are you still encountering problems?( serious question, not sarcasm). I ask because after installing the patch I have noticed huge improvements( at least for me ). All the auto save crashes have stopped completely, and the game runs so much better now. This reminds me of Skyrim some people were lucky and encountered very little in the way of bugs and well, some people really got screwed.

I installed the patch on my PS3 version of the game.  Maybe I'm imagining it, but I think the graphics look a little more...detailed?  The armors in particular look more colorful and crisp.  And when I went running around the Exalted Plains, I could see the background stuff in the distance more clearly than before, it's like they have more "pop" or something.  The game also feels faster, more smooth.  I haven't experienced any freezes since the patch, but I didn't have many to begin with.  Completed my first playthrough and into a second one.  Glad to hear the custom Hawke bug was fixed, I needed to be able to customize Hawke for my second worldstate.

Yeah, I totally agree. I lucked out and encountered few problems if any. Everything seems to run way better after installing the patch.

284mb on 360. I'm running rather smoothly from disc on my 360, haven't seen anyone talking about the digital version on this console. Ps3 seems to be working best with the digital though

190Mb Patch on PS3 now installed.

Texture pop in still happens during cutscenes but it is minimal and it is really fast, may notice a second or so and then it is fine. Cutscenes themselves are running a lot smoother.

Movement doesn't feel as sluggish and panning around with the camera is a lot smoother.

There is also a lot less stuttering in general now when exploring and during battles

Feels and plays much better than it did yesterday in all fairness

Update. New game is working much better, rumble back, less glitchy than before. Old saved game seems unaffected by patch. Weird

The problem is that tactic ends up fostering resentment among both parties.  The goal shouldn't be to force them to get the patches out right this instant, or you'll continually demean something they put 3 years of their lives into; trying to push their buttons until they crack and give in to your demands.

The game has glitches, yes.  Some of these glitches are a big problem, sure.  Even if they aren't acknowledging them in these forums, doesn't mean they aren't looking in to the issues however.  Continually bashing their product and attempting to demoralize them like some have been doing, isn't the answer.  Regardless of how effective or ineffective it may be, it's only going to create more of a schism between the devs and the consumers in the end.

There still are, what, 2 more patches we're aware of on the way right?  And from the looks of the topic on the subject, there seems like there's going to be multiple waves to it.  Should these have been fixed prior to release?  In a number of cases, yes.  I'm not entirely sure though they would've caught all of these even if they had had more time.  You can rant all you want about the volume of people having gamebreaking issues on this forum.  However, that seems to be only on here.  A vast majority of players outside of the forums have been able to play the game without much incident.  Not even all of us who are using last gen systems are experiencing gamebreaking bugs.  (I've come across 1 and that ended up sorting itself out)   I'd wager that even if they had bugtested by themselves for another couple months they still wouldn't have come across all of the bugs that people are reporting on here.  Simply put, they didn't have access to the type of numbers that they do now.  It's unfortunate that people are experiencing issues.  But it's no reason to strain relations between the audience and the devs even further.

The best thing anyone can do is to present their problems in a calm and collected manner; and just continue to remind them of the problems you're having, and how your game is being impacted.

I have every right to demean their work when it's broken and they treat this particular group of customers as if they don't exist.

Yes.

Jesus- I got my money back from Amazon, and was going to get a new copy when they sorted the bugs out- heard the patch was coming quicker than I expected, but that's the error I've got so i guessed there is no point in me getting a new copy yet. Guess I'm gonna go back to twittering again...

To be fair, many of us are running this 2014 game on 2014 hardware. We're justified.

I still encourage people who bought the game on old gen systems to get mad. Just don't be surprised.

So people on newer systems who paid full price are more legitimate in their complaints than people who paid full price on older systems?

Just messaged Conal Pierse with this- "Ok- full disclosure- I got my money back from amazon as I thought it was gonna take you guys a while to sort out a patch. Now I hear that the disc unreadable error for the 360 is still not fixed- will that be addressed as it's pointless me buying a new copy until it is? Is there no way you can make it possible to install the 2nd disc?"

Damn this is frustrating, been waiting all year for this!

In the meantime it's back to Far Cry 4- a very, very, big open world game that was made for all platforms and I've had no trouble playing so far, no issues- played about 30-40 hours...

I currently have this: Inconsistent fix, many report smoother performance (less crashes and freezes), shorter loading times and dialogue fixes (not as much skipping). Search tool has been improved. Some players seem to even have worse performance than before patch. as outcome of the patch. I have seen quite conflicting thing about patch but majority at the moment seem to say that bug has made game run better though many issues remain (since they didn't really fix much for old gen this time).

Suggest we try and encourage as many people as possible to take back their copy if it's not working and demand money back/ also point it out on amazon etc that this game is broken- I've just left a review to that effect on there- we waited for the patch and it clearly is ignoring a whole slew of problems. The company needs to understand you can sell something that perhaps isn't the same across all platforms but you can't sell something that is broken. This isn't a cosmetic problem- they sold a kit-car with no wheels. The least they can do is tell me when my wheels are arriving. In this case I took my 'car' back- make a public announcement- ie sorry it was broken, it will be fixed by such and such a date- then I'll buy a new one.

I can start a new game on PS3. Everytime I after I go through the race/gender/class/world state import screen it crashes. I downloaded the patch and and it still crashed. I can't fix it.

Yet it works fine on my Xbox 360.

Also I have had the problem with some dialoge being sped up and sounding like gibberish on both platforms it's a random glitch while not as big as, not being able to start a new game on my PS3, it is very annoying.

Unsure if anyone else has noticed this with their 360 version but after the patch the only problem I noticed is when I'm trying to exit the wheel menu, it pauses for a good eight seconds before it brings me back to my game.

Load times between fast travel has gotten faster for me however.

Sorry if this has been asked but can you install the play disc yet(on the 360)? I know the patch notes didn't mention it, I haven't touched my copy in awhile.

During my gameplay of beta testing which we clearly are even with this new patch, I've found a lot of issues with the ps3 controller other than getting no vibration at all, whenever I press a skill or button attack I randomly get prompyed to the map or potions and other options window its so annoying!!!

This is my experience after the patch, playing in a new playtrough on a 2 years old slim ps3: shorter loading times, less lag
In the menus and inventory, no freezes for now but I'm just 5 hours in the game.
