Wrote to Conal Pierse.

"Ok- full disclosure- I got my money back from amazon as I thought it was gonna take you guys a while to sort out a patch. Now I hear that the disc unreadable error for the 360 is still not fixed- will that be addressed as it's pointless me buying a new copy until it is? Is there no way you can make it possible to install the 2nd disc?"

Here's his reply - which lists all the things they have patched for 360- ie not a lot.

His reply-

"For X360 specifically (so apart from the general stability or other changes) these were the changes in patch 2:

  • [360] Fixed case where movies sometimes decoded incorrectly
  • [360] Fixed Crash when selecting storage device when select storage device warning is present
  • [360] Fixed the online connection error being displayed twice when attempting to login to Origin with no Xbox live connection.

(full list here)

I can't comment specifically on your case, but from some of what you've reported it sounds like it is possible there was a problem with your physical disc. If you know someone who has a copy on 360, it might be worth checking if you can borrow it to test and see if their copy works for you.

Sorry again for all of this. I know it's frustrating when a game isn't working."

My reply to this-

"Thanks for the prompt reply- but it's not the disc- I tried three mint copies of the game after returning it twice. Until there is a fix for this issue it is pointless me buying another copy. Unfortunately  the only people I know who play Inquisition are PC or PS4 owners. Is there any way ensuring we're informed when this will be fixed? Again I think it may require an installable disc 2 to fix this."

Hope that appears to be polite and straight to the point. I know there are others still suffering from the disc unreadable error who are probably sick of hearing 'have you tried another disc' advice as well as me...

Exchange the disc?! Why didn't I think of that...oh wait.  I did.  Three times now.

This is insanely frustrating.  It's one of the few things that makes Inquisition literally unplayable yet they barely acknowledge it happens.  I can't even use the 'test voice' feature in character creation without the disc error popping up half the time.

Day #20: DAI still largely unplayable on last gen consoles. Nobody is surprised. Everybody is disappointed.

Seems similar than case with too small and blurry texts. They don't know about issue, they assume it's something unrelated to game itself and they suggest some hardware change meaning game disc or HDTV/HDM1 cable instead of realising that there the problem comes from actual game and many player are having same problem. Sigh, if only they read forums..

Heres what they REALLY mean when they say "change the disk"

1. Sell the game
2. Sell your last gen console
3. Buy a ps4 or xbone
4. Rebuy the game
5. GIVE US MONEY!

With this patch is the digital version still better than disc in terms of graphics quality

Still not sure why hair and beards is shiny on low quality. Certain beards still look like the dwarf etc cant actially grow a full moustache

Still feels like da2 in some cases had better graphics.

If only- but you see Conal Pierse asked for a list of stuff- and I gave him a long list including this thread and everything i could find on this forum!!! Christ, just read the stuff that's all we're asking isn't it- we're consistently the 2nd thread on the feedback list... it's not rocket science. Like I said we need to start sending our copies back- everyone who does - if they have bought it from Amazon, please write a one star review there, politely testify to it not working on old gen.

If they don't fix it i will buy it on a new gen console- but by the time I buy a new gen console I'll be buying Inquisition 2nd hand and they won't see a penny of my cash.

For complexions is there really no noticeable differences between most sliders? I can make grey hair but they look 20-30. Dao and da2 had extreme complexions

This old salty dog needs some time to lie down. What with his blood boiling over. Anyhew, i added this ps to my missive to Mr Pierse. Hope it's not too brusque...

"p.s. And if you need more evidence to prove this? There are people on the thread link, the one I sent you before, who are still in the same boat as me. the longer this takes to fix, the more likely it is that when they get round to rebuying they'll be picking up 2nd hand copies. We want to support Bioware, as we tend to think you're the only company making unique rpgs like this, but if we can't actually play the game this is becoming difficult...

Patch was under 200MB.

I am also with the digital version on a slim PS3, I had fairly few major issues, nothing gamebreaking (didn't have the Hawke voice issue, and only once had a problem with cutscene hanging on dialogue). I acknowledge that compared to a lot I seem to be very fortunate, but wanted to give my changes.

-- Overall it is smoother, a lot of the hiccups are gone and some load times are quicker.

-- Texture pop, minimal but still present, definitely improved. The prologue in particular, Cass disappearing for .5 sec, texture pop, that's still there, but I've played through it so many times I don't care by this point hahah.

-- A LOT more banter, where I had almost no banter before. Feels more natural.

-- Things like characters loading when I switch between them on menus (equip potions, level up, gear, etc.) are MUCH faster now.

My greatest opponent? The Forbidden Oasis. That zone straight-up crashed my framerate to nothing (although it wasn't technically a freeze). Works perfectly fine now! No issues there whatsoever.

I haven't played extensively enough, so I dunno if the game still crashes. I was able to reduce my crashes to almost 0 (but still happened once every ~6 hours of consistent gameplay?) if I turned all my online options off.

so im guessing im the only one having the problem with the ps3 controller at leats in this thread? whenever i press on the sonar locator thing for finding items in random moments it auto opens the map/potion window/ and use skill attack at the same time which is disturbing already, also when i use attack or an skill it also prompts to the potion window thing /map and it happens randomly it breaks the combat moment for me cause i gotta quit the map window and go back to fighting it got really annoying to the point of me turning off the game lol, also not having vibration feeling with the controller like somehow it just went away and never got the rumble back :/

i can deal with the texture poping from time to time but gameplay wise to have problems with the controller now is not something i will accept just because, its making the game annoying and unplayable for me -_-

I was so looking forward to this game and I got the deluxe version for the 360. Like many people, I have not felt the need to buy a very expensive new gen system since I thought that if a company bothers to make a game available for the older gen systems, the system would actually be able to play it. I have the 360 version that came out about a year before the xboxone, so its not like it was an old version.

This game, quite simply, looks absolutely unplayably terrible. HDMI at 1080 basically looks like a Nintendo game cube game that can't keep up with itself. I tried going back to basic video input hoping the fuzziness would gloss over the glaring texture and animation problems, but then I couldn't read any of the text. There are times where the charectures have polygon edges and zero texture making it look like a game from the 90s! The dialogue is off by just enough to be extremely distracting and annoying and multiple times during cut scenes there are large rips through the scenery behind the charectures followed by the background loosing all resolution and turning into an abstract watercolor. When you're moving the game cannot generate the scenery fast enough much less the textures leaving you to travel through a texture less path of tree and rock shaped polygons. Beyond all of that the loading times are insane. Just to have the game switch between charectures in the equipment screen takes a good 20-30 seconds to load the new character, and the loading times when you go to a new area make those elevator rides in Mass Effect 1 look speedy.

If the old gen systems could not realistically handle this game, it shouldn't have been released on them. Consumers would understand, gaming is advancing and if they want to play new titles, they are going to have to get new systems, we all expect that. What we don't expect is to pay 1/4 of what it costs for a new system for a game that doesn't work on the one they have now.

What really upsets me though is that you KNEW how crappy this was going to run on older systems and you still released it just so you could make money off people who wisely haven't shelled out $400 dollars for a system that has no real exclusive or worthwhile games yet.

I have the latest patch installed, I honestly saw no change in the graphics or audio. We expect glitches abs patches at the release of any new game, but what Bioware has sold to PS3 & 360 owners is half the game for the full price. I truly hope that you will show that you still care about your customers on the old gen systems by releasing a patch the fix these serious issues.

We shouldn't be treated like second class citizens when we paid full price just like everyone else. Just because we can technically play a game doesn't make it worth it if it looks this bad.

honestly speaking im already feeling like we are worthless in this community and for Ea/ware as well they havent cared enough to come here and post not even once in this thread or anything that has a relation with ps3/360 i've tweeted them sent private messages in here as well, and i get zero response from them and you know what? im really pissed off now, i see how others get responses or even a hi in twitter while i send messages and i get completly ignored , and the worst of it is that im not even being rude in the tweets i send i try to be as polite i can with them, but no i simply get the freaking middle finger rubbed on my face with dirt... this game has brought frustration and stress to me now, specially today when i updated the game with the so called "patch" and it only made the ps3 controller idiotic with always doing things i havent even pressed on ! sigh... *deep breaths*.

I play on a PS 3 it works just fine. I'm sorry you are encountering so many buggs, I truly am but, this stuff happens and I have to disagree with the it's not rocket science as the process of creating games like DA:I is very complex. There are probably 400.000 plus people playing Inquisition compared to a team of probably 50 testers I haven't experienced any of the problems you have and there are plenty of other players that can play Inquisition and have positive feedback( only minor buggs ) so, a great deal of this very well could of been missed or never encountered by the testers. Do I know this for a fact of course not( I'm not psychic...yet lol) I know it sucks when you can't play a game you purchased( believe me, I do Skyrim wouldn't run correctly on my P3 for ages). But, your experience is not my experience just as my experience is not the same as that of you or other players. All in all it seems like you are getting really worked up about this so, I have too ask is it worth the stress or frustration?

I play Inquisition on a PS 3. Pre patch I only encountered minor Bugs, with the release of the patch I have no more issues at all. Please don't speak speak on behalf of other people. It's sucks that you encounter so many problems just trying to play the game I hope it gets sorted out and you can enjoy the game.

Thank you so, so much for this thread, Panda.

As it currently is (with the horrible limited saves, ontop of everything else reported), I will not purchase this game yet. It is truly saddening how they choose to ignore these issues, but I'll keep my fingers crossed as I follow this thread. I feel at a loss for words really, I mean, of course they should have tech support for PS3 and 360, since they've sold copies of it. (what kind of company doesn't?)

Again, thank you all for your inputs. Keep up your good work! :)

(and I'll be posting if it gets slowed down ;-)

I have a PS3 and an Xbox 360...Slim, I think it's called, 250 GB, and saves are way too limited for me = not much for replay then, and I want to replay and Save so many different characters and so many different outcomes :'-(

I think that the patch increased saves though? From patch notes: [PS3] Increased number of save slots to 30. However they increased PS4 save slots to 50 so I guess the old gen versions is inferior in that aspect as well. It doesn't seem they increased save slots for XBOX360 though.

No you're not the only one who has had this problem, I have had it as well.

Oh, and I thoughtt I'd share some information for australian customers. If you bought your old-gen copy from EB games, and explain to them that it is causing problems with your console, the.nthey will give you full price-credit to use in store. The time frame for Refunds is over, but getting back full credit, is still pretty good of them.

I think I maybe didn't express myself well enough.. I waasn't saying making the game, or testing it isn't rocket science. I'm saying that Bioware not reading a thread on a forum they set up for feedback is not rocket science. You ask also, is it worth the frustration? Well it's frustration they are causing and I'm here posting in sympathy with other people who are experiencing that. Actually I'm quite calm about this. You can be righteously indignant without bursting an ulcer, it's one of the advantages of the strange beatific calm it is possible to achieve in middle age. I know it's easy for testers to miss stuff- but not when it's been pointed out to them in several tweets, etc and this very thread. This also isn't a question of a game not running correctly- it's a game that doesn't run at all on my system and on many others. Bioware are not listening to us. I don't think it's time to shout or swear or lose one's temper- and I don't believe I suggested it was. It's time to be concerted in our efforts to point out to people who may buy this game that they shouldn't until it's fixed. I work in the shadowy hell of customer services- and believe me, the bottom line is the only thing that really grabs managerial attention.

Still can not start a new game on PS3. After race/gender/class select taken back to the dashboard. Deleted the cash and the patch now reinstalling them. I hope I get all the extra DLC back.

So what I have gathered is that patch 2 was mostly successful in PS3 and XBOX360 on things that it fixed. However it didn't fix much so many major problems including text size issue, disk unreadable on 360 error, texture pop-in's and graphical clitches still remain.
