I'm glad I found this thread, it seems like the last-gen problems aren't talked about enough. (I'm here to complain)

What the f*** is with these texture issues? Ears popping through hoods, faces, my god the faces, why is it every time the camera zooms out the faces lose texture???? And is this every going to be fixed? After seeing it happen to Roderick in the opening I thought it would be a funny odd occurrence but no it happens like clock-work! I've had to learn to ignore it at this point... It seriously ruined some scenes, like when Cole/Dorian come to Skyhold during 'In your heart shall burn', and even the party at the end had it bad...

Rant over  :(

No you're not the only one who has had this problem, I have had it as well.
Oh, and I thoughtt I'd share some information for australian customers. If you bought your old-gen copy from EB games, and explain to them that it is causing problems with your console, the.nthey will give you full price-credit to use in store. The time frame for Refunds is over, but getting back full credit, is still pretty good of them.

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one then, not that I'm happy your also having issues with it but at least I'm not alone.

What's your experience so far ? And yeah it sucks now for me at least before it was just the sound and some random freezes , now every time I load my data I get caught in the middle of a fight and we'll the whole control bananas happen for me :\ BTW the loading times seems to be still bad .

The animation where Cassandra leads you out of your cell is truly awful especially when she vanishs. It should be 1000 better tgan actual gameplay not worse

Then you meet the war table and cullens face goes good/bad/good. Wow

Im sorry but there is no excuse for this. It reminds me of the rankin/bass 1964 rudolph animated tv special. Seriously watched it last night and rudolph is better

The disc unreadable error on 360 seems to be a problem on the disc drives on those consoles that by some reason are not spinning the dvd on proper speed. If so, it's not something that will get fixed by neither Bioware nor EA, these people should contact Microsoft instead

Well the problems seems to come from that you can't install game on HDD for 360 (from what I have gathered from people). Also they don't seem to have same problem with other games, just with DAI.

Things like faces losing texture upon zooming out is likely just a consequence of the low processing power on the last gen consoles.  DAI was designed with the limitations of next-gen consoles in mind, not last gen.  They managed to make the game "work" on last gen consoles, but they had to scale back graphics quality in order to make it fit, leaving it looking and running worse in some ways than games designed with the limitations of last gen consoles.  It's like trying to run the game on a PC that's below the minimum requirements.  It will "run", but it won't run well.

So unfortunately the solution to the graphics and performance issues is going to come down to "buy a next gen console/gaming PC". I personally think BioWare/EA should have just skipped the last gen consoles if it was going to be a sub par experience.

Yep, I said it because there are lots of diferent models on xbox 360 drives, this could be specific model problem. Just my opinion though

The texture popping/skipping animation has nothing to do with old gen. They lower the settings on graphics but good cullen/bad cullen is sloppy.

The texture pop in is probably caused by the underpowered CPU, GPU, and lack of memory in the old gen systems.

You're correct, I'm guessing that is probably the issue. But as it only affects this one game then this is Bioware's problem not Microsoft's- and there is a solution- make disc 2 installable, like nearly all games are on the 360.

I've just tweeted Bioware, dragon age, mike laidlaw, cameron lee  and conal pierse, with this "disc unreadable error on xbox 360 still not corrected- game still unplayable- will next patch make disc 2 installable?" suggest everyone, who can be bothered on here, does likewise. thanks if you do!

Well it's my second playthrough and just have the normal cutscene glitches everyones has, froze twice in 140 hours so far.

I couldn't read the text at first either but went and got a hdmi cable and perfect now.

Plays like a game on the xbox 360,but it does look way better on hd tvs, jusy mt two cents.

Oh, yes. Didn't think of that, I did only think of a more dramatic fix which would be a new dashboard/firmware for those drives. But they could release a patch that would ask us inside game to install the contents of disc 2, download the content on xbox live or release a new batch that would allow us to install the second disc via dashboard. By the way, in which point does this error occurs? Do you get to see EA/Bioware logo during launch or does it crash even before that?

If its true why would the digital version look better?

Is this game more graphically taxing than skyrim? Anyone else notice that shields on backs dont always fully load. Noticed it on cass that it looks like the back of a kite

On ps3 you would get a faster Read Speed reading from the hard drive than you would get by reading from a bluray disc. On 360 you're reading from both hard drive and dvd, this would provide a better performance in theory. This game is pushing the hardware to the max, but optimized very badly, so it is heavier than Skyrim

On PS3 have updated with the latest patch. Only about 7 hours in this time around. For me graphically almost nothing has improved. Lots of popin still the same. Still same crappy textures and clipping issues. Frame rate seems a bit smoother in the Hinterlands, but that might just be a placebo effect. Soundwise though I haven't had any problems yet. Also haven't had any crashes so far. Also I don't have any problems with the controller as some people have indicated. For me the patch has been a much needed improvement. That addition of searching for items showing in the minimap is great! Now if we could get graphics as nice as Skyrim or at least as good as DA2 I'd be satisfied. Maybe I'll run into more bugs the further I get it, but as of right now it seems to be at least playable.

That's actually working as intended - interactive banter. You have to be quick to hit it.

Texture pop in could have everything to do with old gen.  It's a texture streaming issue which can be a result of slow disc reading and memory bandwidth.

Other glitches, like the disc read error, cutscenes freezing, etc., don't have to do with being last gen though.  They're simply the result of sloppy coding.

The only issue that I've encountered so far is the controller doing things o haven't even pressed on , sometimes some text stay stuck on the screen, no rumble and that's it I think.
