It's not a bug, it's the mesh quality and old gen can't handle better quality unless they do do a rework on the textures and hair. So, I doubt the shiny hair will ever disappear from old gen version
They are fixing it for low and medium graphics for PC so they should be able to fix it for old gen as well. They really should rework textures if they can't, it's ridiculous for them to sell product like that. They should change it to matte at least.
Following my admitting I took the game back to Conal Pierse- as it's unplayable, and that I'm now waiting for them to fix the game before I buy a new copy, apparently Bioware have decided I am no longer a customer. Effectively they've stopped responding to any tweets or other messages I've sent since then. So, to recap, they've delivered a broken product. I've returned it. And instead of offering to fix that product, they've just decided I'm no longer their problem. I've also noticed they haven't once responded to anything posted on this forum. They are ignoring us, and will, I believe, continue to do so. This is one of the shoddiest examples of customer service I've ever encountered. Does anyone have any ideas on what we can do next?
What about their facebook? I know it seems a low key thing but.... people will see and maybe think twice about buying it. Normally you would be able to goto trading stndards but games makers see to be "outside the law" in that they can release a broken product and not get sued or have action taken against them for it.

I have seen just one "professional" review of DAI on PS3 and it didn't praise the game at all. Sadly couldn't find it now. User reviews on metacritic give DAI lot of negative reviews on old gen as well, on new gen the game is mostly praised. Same with amazon. So DAI isn't game of the year for PS3 and XBOX360 at all, game that gets more negative reviews than positive shouldn't be it.

Other characters with black hair don't have that ridiculous sheen, just the player. So it's not about the engine not being able to take it on the consoles. It can.

I may not own Dragon Age inquisition at the moment but I really wanted to reply to this topic because it affects me in a way.
Right now I am playing the Dragon Age series from the beginning (1st time) and I was super hyped for the third game.
I was planning actually to get myself an XBOX360 (very cheap due to Holiday deals) this Christmas so I can enjoy Dragon Age Inquisition finally along with other older games (I'm a newcomer to gaming,have been playing for a year now).Because I have no money for a gaming PC, my laptop cannot handle newer games nor I have money to jump right into the 8th gen consoles.
Before I commited to buying the XBOX360 and DA:I I wanted to read some reviews to see how well this game runs on older consoles and I came across this thread among others and I have to say I am extremely disappointed.Wow...It is so sad to see Bioware do this to us.If the old-gen versions were to be so broken why did they even release them in the first place?
What am I to do after all these things I've read?(I'm sure there are a lot of people in this position who can't afford upgrades or don't want an upgrade and really want to play this game on their old systems and are contemplating on buying it.)
This game costs almost 70 euros in my country which is more or less the equivalent of 90 dollars.I'd be really gullible to pay such money while knowing it's not going to work anyway.I don't know what to do.I'm torn on the issue.
Also what bugs me is the lack of reviews for the old-gen version.I can hardly find ONE.The only thing I find is people rightfully complaining about it but no actual article on any gaming website.This issue needs to be pressed in order to have any results.

Thanks for posting this... I think that Bioware need to see that people are starting to realise that they can't trust it will work on an old gen console and that they are going to lose sales if they don't address these issues. I love the Dragon Age games and I just want them to fix the issues so that we can all enjoy playing. Thank you for posting on their page.

No problem, It was the right thing to do.We shouldn't be ignored just because we are last-gen.They must find a solution, they owe us this much.I also love Bioware games ,the Mass Effect trilogy got me into gaming after so many years and I love it to death.I also fell in love with the Dragon Age series and I was looking forward for this.
I may still buy the XBOX360 just so I can enjoy other games I want but I'll definitely not buy DA:I if they don't fix it at least a bit.I guess I'll have to wait 2-3 years until I can afford an upgrade.Even then, I will buy a used copy.Not a new one.
i'm already over twitter myself i tweeted all of those people and bioware/dragon age account and no response at all so i'm not gonna waste my time any longer with that, on the other hand facebook works better since its something that everyone can see even if they dont reply to it.

i tried to address our issues to Angry Joe but that guy is just everyone else, ignoring the "old gen" and rather not get involved in anything that doesnt affect him , also tried to contact someone from IGN but you know... we need to either make videos on youtube and somehow get massive on views and what not and advertise the video itself so we can get acknowledge, otherwise lets just keep being the ignored.

Yeah, it's pretty garbage. When I played all the characters bar from my Inquisitor looked like goddamn clay.

Of course it can, it's already running. What you said is a characteristic of the engine, different mesh colors behave in different ways in different quality levels. Why does this happen? Good question, I don't know, but if you increase the quality you would lose a lot of perfomance and if it's already happening fps drops that makes it go below 15 in some situations, increasing the mesh quality would be a really bad ideia. If there's a proper way to fix this problem with the exact same engine and without losing performance, it's not a simple thing to do, it would require time.
Is there any way we could know or estimate which platform sold the most copies?
i am really curious to see if the old gen is selling less ,the same or more than new-gen or PC.Because if it selling less by a great margin,I'm afraid there's no hope.
I played for 4 hours straight today with the new patch and it was enjoyable overall.
The graphics......oh the graphics, absolutely horrible. Clutter looks like PS1 and Xbox quality, all the characters especially Lelianna look horrible, Varric looks like he's wearing a floating wig, I can see under his hair from some angles. The worst by far are the fade tears, they look like pixelated square blocks from Minecraft or something, just horrendous. Experienced some minor glithes, like an object on a shelf dissapearing when I move then reappearing when I stop. No major glitches.
Audio is fine, only had a minor anomaly when picking a herb.
Performance is good, lags a bit when lots of effects are going off in battle. I turned off connecting to servers and sending data like some suggested. maybe that helped.
No glitches or bugs aside from npcs sliding when moving instead of their animation playing, happened twice with different npcs.
Some hair is insanely shiny, theres one Templar women outside haven where Cass and Cullen are and her hair could set forests on fire its so shiny.
Its playable with the patch, just very sad the graphics are so bad.
I do still regret buying it, especially that I bought the digital deluxe. I could have bought the pc since my laptop can run it but would I have been happier? Who knows.
Hopefully future patches fix it further, I really am doubtful we will ever see graphical improvement.

lol sum the ps3 and x360 nums and it makes more than pc and xbox one....
I'll worry about the 360's graphics problem after they make is possible to play the freaking game. This disc unreadable error crap is inexecusable. Almost a month gone by with people discussing the issues both here and at the EA help site and the best (and so far only) thing they've come up with is 'have tried exchanging the disc?".

PS3 and XBOX360 have almost sold twice as much combined than PC. And they only talk about PC issues? Wtf. This doesnt make any sense. Is the game really so bad on old gen that the devs just want to wash their hands off?
