Wow, just froze twice within 15 minutes, both times in the underforge of Skyhold.

The first time, I simply went to character details on the pause menu.

The second time, I pressed X on the armor crafting bench.

Guess I won't be going down there again

On the 360, after the title update, my game always freezes when I try to get hawke the first time. I haven't tried using to use the default hawke, and I won't cause I don't like the blood smear on her face. But as soon as I press a on the choose custom hawke option the console freezes. I have a 2011 version.

20-Oct-2008 Wow, didn't realise it's been 6 years, and, touch wood, no problems with any game 'till now. That's quite a record. I remember going into a Blockbuster just after Xmas 2009 to buy it and the guy behind the counter bringing out a random console- and me having to get him to dig in the back and check the serial numbers, as I knew his store had one Jasper in stock, whilst he looked at me like I was a lunatic for knowing which motherboard I wanted... good times

I think if you play the game along time- you just start getting paranoid about where it will crash. I had a camp I needed to set up- pressed a it crashed, then reloaded and did it again, third time too, fourth... fine. I've taken one step and had it give up the ghost, so it seems to be fairly random, certainly on the 360.

Seems it is either a Philips-BenQ or Philips-LiteOn. With this MFR date, BenQ drives were really unusual, maybe these are the ones the game is having problems, but we need more confirmations from other people. On the other hand If your drive turns out to be a LiteOn then this could be some laser calibration problem and the game is requiring from the DVD drive more than any other game we have seen on the 360, or it could be anyhing

A note to all sufferers of Mr Unreadable Disc:

The 360 OS does not distinguish between the DVD drive and hard drive when reporting this error.

Just to clarify what I speak of, I'll tell a tale of 2008.

GTA IV came out, I started playing it. Unreadable disc error kept popping up. DVD drive was indeed iffy at that point. Only way I could get that fixed for free was forcing the 3 red lights.

A week later after getting it back from the repair centre, a trip which got the DVD drive replaced with a BenQ. I thought "Yay, now I can play", which was wrong.

Mr Unreadable appeared once more, the only thing I could think of was it may be hard drive thing. Removed that and could play uninterrupted. Hard drive back on, fail.

Replaced hard drive and normal service was resumed.

Tl;dr Might be a hard drive thing. Wouldn't surprise me if the installer wasn't doing it's job properly either. Hence why reinstall works for some.

Being on console we can't isolate issues all that well.

Good point; this could also be a HD problem since the console really doesn't have a specific HD failure message it may be reporting as Disc Unreadable

There are also things that will prevent banter from firing entirely:

• Riding a mount
• Participating in a conversation
• Being in combat or close proximity to enemies (if you are seeing red on your mini-map, you may be blocked from hearing banter)

 

 

After patching I still run into party banter during the fighting....

And... I can see how Skyhold loads. So first sec only green grass, second bulding and npc. After more 5 sec i can see lighting/shadwos... But it still didnt crash like before patching.

Theres still are bugs, new and old. eh...

And even then, I take it there is sweet F.A. that you can do about  getting the game to work? And of course to play Dragon Age you've got to have it installed on the Hard Drive- so you can't test whether it's the drive by removing the Hard Drive and just inserting a play disc.

I re-installed the game to the HD of my 360, and what little errors I did have seemed to go away. Aside from running the thing till it freezes after 8+hrs, I've come across very few, if any issues - and it's been like that since I got the game.

 

I'm sorry people are having issues, guess this a YMMV issue; Just lurking on the forums till the coffee kicks in, then it's time for more DA:I.

So another list of bugs:

• In some cutscene some characters stare blind somewhere and its look terrible
• still random show up enemies (read: falling from sky or suddenly come out from nowhere)
• banters after getting mount or doing some pensonaly quest (for me Iron Bull just shut up. I hear he's comments only for exploitation)
• Still Cassandra disappear after Character Creation
• Freezing in Haven (in polish Azyl, I just dont remember how it was written,sry)
• War drums in Haven (Azyl)!!! In new game!!!!!!
• Sometimes i cant pick up loots!
• When i want to talk whit someone i have to press more than twice on button "X"... 
• and sometimes it freezs the game if Im walking away or start conserwation whit someone else (so i take it back, game crashes after patching...)
• I cant finish Varck's personaly quest becose reparing didnt show up on war table...

 

 

Im sorry that i write some random i just play 3-4 h per day and i remember some bugs or run in new one =='

 

I think i will start to write them somewhere do not forgetting them...

I finally remembered to check the date on my Elite 360, its 2011. I'm guessing the last batch of Elites made, bought it when my original 360's hard drive died.

 

Tried to think of ways to improve the experience with the game, finally hooked up my 360 with an HDMI instead of the component Ive been using since I bought my first 360 and yeah, I feel stupid now. There is a difference, small but sharper and brighter/vibrant colours. Not sure if it improves load time or anything. I also played with the HD settings on my 360 and tv and it has made the game look nicer. I also downloaded the english voice pack on the off chance it may help. Too soon to say but I haven't had any dialogue issues since then.

 

I'm up to 25 hours with no freezes, crashes or any major issues.

Lol. Yep it would be up to BW to update us. I don't have much to update at the moment since there is no info about patch 3 and devs aren't really answering questions about old gen so situation hasn't changed ^^
