OK, it's just my opinion anyway, but keep in mind that there are a lot of people that couldn't play the game for five minutes

I'm pretty lucky to be able to play the game and I know that. A bad experience with a lot of problem, but still be able to play.

I know that other people have a lot more issues. I had some with other games too. For exemple, my version of Fallout New Vegas is so bugged the games freeze each time I met à NPC in the desert!

I don't have musics. I don't have the possibility to swap the leading character most of the time. Half of the time, I don't have any sound at all. 9 times out of 10, my Multiplayer game goes wrong because of massives bugs like key not dropping, flying players or character stuck to the ground. All of that makes that I can play the game, but I don't have a good experience and it is making VERY BAD MEMORIES.

ME3 needed the Extended Cut to turn a massive mess into an acceptable mess. DA:I need something to turn this horror show into actual game.

This game has the potential to be at the same stratospherical level than Skyrim. If he put down his own chains...

A massive thread with constant update stay in the top of the list of threads and will have a better impact. We can't ignore something that is glued in the face. ;)

All righty then, I'll post my list here too, and maybe re-post it every now and again in case a BW employee should happen to stumble in here by mistake or something. ;)

So, ye high and might lords of BioWare... these are the things we would like you to fix, or at least address:

  • Black screens, game crashing or freezing. Patch 2 has helped some players but there are still a lot out there who struggles with the game freezing or crashing on them.
  •
  • Textures not loading or flickering as well as very low resolution at times.
  •
  • Haircolours are too glossy to the point that they look more like metal than hair. The black colour is the worst one.
  •
  • Clipping issues: arms goes through weapons or torso, chins goes through armour and so on.
  •
  • Audio acting up.
  •
  • Wrong enviromental sounds playing in the wrong area.
  •
  • No background music or background music fading after having played for about 10 seconds.
  •
  • No sound at all.
  •
  • No or very little banter with the Inquisitor never joining in.
  •
  • The dialouge-wheel during quest related banter never highlighting.
  •
  • Dialouges freezing forcing the player to skip ahead or reload despite the fact that this was one of the things Patch 2 should fix.
  •
  • Multiplayer glitches and for some it is completely un-playable.
  •
  • Unable to load saved files.
  •
  • Subtitles and menues are too small to read.
  •
  •  Corrupted saves.
  •
  • Disk unreadable error on XBOX360.
  •
  • Major lag and texture pop-in's.

Oh, and if you could make Varric stop doing is crazy curtsy-dance when my character speaks to him that would be great too. And Solas does this weird little shuffle walk inside buildings. It looks pretty funny but it does seem a little out of character for him. You might want to take a look at that too for the next patch. Thanks. :)

We actually call it the Solas-shuffle because he does it all the time. It's like he's trying to do a moonwalk and just isn't getting it.

At this stage I couldn't care less about the too small text, the horrible textures, the overlapping dialogue, the strange camera angles, etc.. I'd like to be able to just play the darn game.  Without starting from scratch each time I can't get past the load screen.  Beggers can't be choosers, and I have certainly been made a begger.  I WANT to play this game.  I cannot confidently say I would not cave and buy it on XBox One when I finally do get that console.  Just like every other Bioware product.  But this is ridiculous.  And the lack of attention this is getting is mindboggling.  I don't count the insulting little pat on our heads we got earlier.  If they truly cared, somebody would have followed that message up when they saw how wrong a note it hit.  I have faith this will be fixed some day, but wow, I have never encountered such a buggy game, well...ever.

On a side note, one of my friends was waiting to hear how I liked it before buying the game.  I talked him out of it not realizing this was an old gen issue only.  I'm not really inclined to set that straight.

Well the other day I went into the tower to talk to Cullen and all of a sudden while he was looking out the window, he jumped out of the arrow slit and starting running on air towards the distant mountains. And they say there's no proof that god exists, tsk... :P

We have made post in Answers HQ and tweeted them to @dragonage. However no answers from your side at all. Also I know what patch 2 did, however I don't know if BW knows that it didn't fix many of the major problems old gen has. It didn't fix disk unreadable error for 360, it didn't fix corrupted saves, it didn't fix too small texts, it didn't fix texture pop-in's and them not loading. There has been no acknowledgement from your side of these issues, but BW sure has been very vocal acknowledging PC issues and fixing them although old gen has most broken game. Also in both Answers HQ and @dragonage it would be very hard to gather as much information in one thread as it is in here forums.. information that BW could use to fix the game, u know.

Hey Everyone,

This thread is going a little off the rails here so I wanted to pop in and get it back on track. We are following issues reported to us from users on all platforms, and this includes last gen. Patch 2 was focused on stability on all platforms (full patch notes), and are also looking at a number of fixes and improvements for future patches.

If you are experiencing problems, please report them on Answers HQ or tweet them to @dragonage. Unlike the BSN, these channels are geared towards providing troubleshooting and cataloguing issues from users. If you feel there might be an issue with the disc or product itself, you can also file a report here and our customer support personnel will do their best to help you.

If you notice that another user has already filed a similar complaint, don’t be discouraged from adding to their thread. This helps us keep better track of how many players are experiencing an issue and can better help our support staff troubleshoot the root cause.

Please note that the BSN does not offer troubleshooting services (apart from the help other people here kindly offer). Our devs come here on a volunteer basis to interact with fans and share stories with them, rather than to provide official support.

We appreciate your concerns and are working hard to address issues as they arise, but please remember that this forum is not the best place for you to make our staff aware of any problems you may be having.

Here is the response of Bioware.

I don't use tweets, don't have a EA account and don't have Facebook. It look like they don't want that we pollute their "feedback" section. Well, then change the name because saying that the game doesn't launch at all is a first-hand feedback for me!

Well, alright, I wouldn't call it an insulting pat on the head, more like avoidance tactics. I have several issues I'd like to share with y'all here, let me know what you think.

Firstly, I want to say that I believe fixing the games that don't run shouldn't be that hard on their part. If the problem a player faces is not being able to even load, it's one thing they can focus on fixing, not a heap of intermingled issues. They could do this, provided they wanted to.

Secondly, for the rest of us with the graphical/sound issues etc. Retrospectively looking at a single tweet by a dev who said that "The game is a very tight fit" for old gens, when someone asked why there are no scars in CC, I am coming to the conclusion that, even if they wanted to (debated if they do) they really CAN'T fix us. They have specifically said the problems are memory related, they appear to have chopped the game's graphics down ON PURPOSE to squeeze a fit for the old gens. I am really not sure there even can be a fix for us. This is... not a nice thought.

Also, the last point in conjunction with what people say about the Frostbite engine that it's too new, focused primarily for next gens and extremely heavy, also corroborates my theory above that they can't fix our problems.

It's almost like they thought, we've tested it on a pc and new gen consoles and it works pretty much ok, and then when it came to the old gen they probably had the most up to date models- and thought, well, it kinda works. Didn't even cross their mind to stick a copy in a ps3 or 360 manufactured a few years back.

I honestly think that's exactly what happened. I've been pretty lucky in terms of game-breaking bugs (only 4 crashes and 1 corrupted save!), but my PS3 is a relatively new model (bought in 2011)

I still believe that they should be able to fix things that are bugs. I just feel like they don't really want to spend time fixing them.. I'd have preferred if they hold old gen versions couple months more before releasing it while doing proper porting : / Also I don't think they should have done as demanding game if they want to sell it on old gen.

Lots of should-haves, could-haves, would-haves, the question is what can in practical terms happen now. If the game is the way it is because old gens couldn't take much more, then our graphical/sound problems are like that ON PURPOSE, and there's nothing really to be fixed.

They need to fix the bugs, but usually when they fix one bug two new ones pop-up, so I'm not as optimistic there either.

I really don't know how I like the conclusions out of all these.

Apart from everything, is this still worth buying though? I'm literally on the fence. Scale from 0 to 10 (Truthfully Please) Also PS3 owner.

Have you newer PS3 or can you try the game on your PS3 before playing it? The problems seem somehow related to older versions of the console but there is lot of inconsistency, some have lot of problems on newer versions as well. Overall if you don't mind the graphics being quite low and some performance issues I'd say go ahead, but you might also get very unlucky as well... it's kinda like Russian roulette I guess.

Well, you are talking about the graphical and sound issues. Some PS360 players can't play at all at their full-price game!

The Inquisitor stuck at the ground after a loading is not a graphical issue. The broken MultiPlayer part too. The playmobil beards are strange (after all, it is not the very first PS360 game with a character creator). The corrupted saves have no links with the sound i think.

See what I am drawing? Even if they clean all the graphical/sound bugs, there are more lethal bugs in the bush. In the PC section, they talk about new drivers for DirectX and the graphical cards so the customers can handle a part of the correction. But we, the old-gen owners, must wait for Bioware to correct the problem with the hardware.

If they have choosen to work on the borderline of the console capacities, fine by them! They must choose what to do now : either correct the game so he run smoothly without sacrifing more high res textures, either downgrade their game to improve the game system itself, either refund ALL the PS360 customers for selling a game that will NEVER work normally on their console. Nowhere on the package of the game is a line that said : This game may be never really work even with lot of patches and we claim the right to **** you off.

They puy themself in a corner. It's their own work, we never made a demand to have a game nearly impossible to patch.

The thing is that we can't do much at the current situation other than bother devs and make the annoyed ^^; It's up to them to tell what they can fix and what they can't and also fix what they can. I have been trying to tweet asking about patch 3 and what it will fix on old gen but no answers : /

Don't. Get a PS4 and then buy it. Sincerely, as an xbox360 user who doesn't have HORRIBLE issues like hangs and disc errors. If you even care one tenth about graphics quality, it'll depress you very soon.

An other thing that you MUST HAVE to have a good quality playthrough is a gigantic TV screen. The text are really really small. With my TV of 80cm, I have 2mm letters. At 3m of distance I must have a 17/10 eye vision to understand what is written.

Well at least it's slim, the fatty one's seem to have most problems ^^ It's just that we don't know what makes game buggier for some than others. Some PS3 players are pretty happy with the game. I don't think any has completely bugless game though but some have only minor one's. It's quite scary that some can't even pass loading screen though.

That's one of major issues that lot of players report. BW seemed to think that it's because players don't have HDTV's and HDM1-cables but quite many has stated that it isn't case. Hopefully they have realised by now that the text size is software problem not hardware.

Thank you for answering. Taking note of it too but I still need to pay off student loans too :( PS4 is not in the near future for myself.

I'm worried of the "corrupt saves" and other game breaking things.
