On PS3 there's a faint gray line in the upper-third of the screen during conversations, just below the subtitles. It's barely noticeable, but now I can't un-see it.

Ha ha ha...

Wait, mine has a speck of dust on it!! Oh NO!!  How can I play this terrible game?!!

Ha ha ha...

There is literally no reason this game cannot run smoothly on 360/ps3.  Skyrim looks just fine and runs just fine.  I have no problem with the graphics being watered down compared to next gen, but they were watered down to the point I don't think bioware really knows what they are doing with this engine.

Add to that the only time I've had any frame rate issues are in cutscenes, and not just because I'm in a large area, something else is clearly wrong.  There is no reason for facial hair that shines like a mirror.  The load times for cutscenes are obnoxious, and as I and everyone else have already noted the text.

Crashes, freezing, and glitches are not because the system can't handle the game, rather the game can't handle itself.

Mine is great so far, on 360.

I'm still waiting on my copy, but I'm getting quite apprehensive after hearing all the complaints. I'm not too fussed about graphics, but I'll be annoyed if the game crashes/freezes etc.

I'm also worried it might kill off my 6 year old PS3  :(

Don't be, there are far more people having fun than what you see here.  I had terrible luck with AssCreed 3 and DoggyDogmaDoggyArisen, but this time I'm good so far.  Will play a lot more tonight after gym time.

For the small text - I suggest an HDMI cable. Hopefully a patch fixes it in the longrun, however. Good luck guys. I have felt your pain, so I upgraded.

I'm on 360, have read through the list of problems and I am only suffering from 2. The biggest one for me is the audio errors, music cuts in and out, there's popping and slight distortion during sound effects and when in conversation with characters, some dialogue comes out completely screwed up, so messed up I have to play with subtitles on or miss out on what was said.

My other problem is with the dialogue wheel during open world banter with your companions. When those moments happen when you can respond to your companion's conversation, I get the button prompt but when I hit it the wheel pops up but is somewhat grayed. I'm able to choose what I want to say with the joystick but no buttons work to send it through so it won't let me actually respond. On occasion it will actually work but I've missed out on many conversations already because of it.

My Xbox 360 is working fine, and please don't call it "old gen."  So-called 'new gen' is nothing of the sort, just a name developed by marketers to sell the same systems to people who don't know any better.

People are complaining about the small text?  Yeah, it's a bit of an inconvenience, but nothing more.  Has nothing to do with game play anyway.

Nothing to do with gameplay?  Text is a significant portion OF this game, and it is more than an inconvenience.  I can't read it, and that makes the game unplayable.  I'm not the only one, either.

The 360 is last gen/old gen, and I'm using one too.  It is what it is.  Next-gen systems are not the same, they are much more powerful.

well lets call it, "past gen" ? either way ps3/xbox360 can definitly handle good Graphics and from what ive seen in some pictures or videos of this game, they dont exactly look like ps3/xbox360 quality much, more like low pc grapcs.

Funny, those worked just fine for me.

Looks like your experience is not the standard of which we all go off of.

Missed this before, to be honest I'm still stuck with an SD tv.  Before you say anything, I can deal with smaller text.  ME2 and diablo 3 are good examples of games with small text that I can still work with.  This game I cannot, it is far worse.

I wonder if the how buggy DAI is on old gen is just luck based or is there some kind of connection between disk versions, digital versions or different console versions. I don't think it's about disk and digital versions anymore like I first did since some have well-working disk versions and some well-working digital versions and some don't. Maybe the difference is based on console version?

The text is just killer.  Most of the time I can make out what's being presented, but sometimes (especially the war room text) it's completely unreadable.  Graphics are not a big thing for me but that just hurts.

Don't know. I read one person with a 2008 console saying mostly the same thing as others who Were more positive.
If I'm lucky (don't know if GS will have the game today, even if it should supposed To come yesterday), I'll let you know, since I saw the game at its best in the YT videos and I have a 2008 360.

Due they made a new model after that (with other changes then bigger Storage).
Though I read one person with a 2012 360 who said that graphics Were really bad. Though we don't know if he/she was disappointed At the YT graphics or he/she got the worse graphics problems on last gen.
As I said, I'll Hopefully be Able to tell you guys more today.
If I get the worse situation though, I don't know What I'll do. I'd be fine with the YT videos graphics, Not much with What other people got. Could I ask for a refund?

I'm not sure if you can get refund. With Origin PC players have money back guarentee for some hours after playing the game if it's no good but physical sales are done by retailers. I think that someone who bought the game in gamestop returned it and got refund cause they didn't use redeem codes or sth (though it sounded like they made exception). So I wouldn't count of at least full refund (game shops might take it back as used game but not full refund then).

I think the situation might improve though if you got bad versions of game or console with patches and fixes. Hopefully BW will really take their time with old gen fixes since there seems to be lot of different problems people are having.

Yeah, I really don't want to return the game, because I'm really interested in the story and the characters :(.
I know Bioware said they're working on it, but we don't event know Which bugs they're considering (and if it's about older Units we don't know if it can be fixed).
Another thing is that we don't know how long it'd take.

Yep those are true. I hope they would at least fix texture bugs (since I think that's the problem that makes some graphic look horrible) and then freezing and crashing problems since those can make game unplayable. Ah and text too, that fix shouldn't be too hard to do I think. Then sound fix would be nice too and.. oh there really is many they should look into : /

Ok, I have the game. Completed the CC and the first cutscene. It seems so far as the quality of the YT videos (with all the problems shown in them). I think Leliana looks worse then Cass, though I only see her clearly under a strong light (probably The one mentioned by others).
The darker hair colours seems better then the others, and some facial hairs aren't as bad as those shown in some shots. The light stubble is better then the heavier stubble.
I can't play the game right now (problems at home) but I'll post later when I'll play more :).

Guys, fixing a lot of the listed issues would likely not even be possible for old generation consoles. They are simply incapable hardware-wise of producing the performance you're asking for (apart from actual game bugs such as the dialogue wheel). The fact that the game is rather badly optimized doesn't help either...

Audio Issues, freezing and crashes should be fixed.

I'm playing on 360. I had to wait until yesterday to start playing because I had to buy a new hard drive. While there are some small annoying issues, I am loving this game. The dialogue has stuttered once, the text is small enough that I had to move my couch, and the facial hair is hilariously bad. That said, it looks and feels a lot like Skyrim, so it's far from unplayable. And, the fact that, in Haven, Varric sometimes does the lollipop guild dance makes up for it all to me.

A patch would be appreciated, but I'm having a blast anyway.
