It's almost kind of funny that DAIMP is a complete and utter mess and this time they had some experience, meanwhile ME3MP was accidentally fantastic considering Bioware has had no experience with multiplayers previously before it. I love ME3MP with all my goddamn heart, I played it so much I managed to clock nearing 550 hours and managed to get Best of the Best. (For those who are thinking "no way", yes way, have my N7 HQ.)
Like, ME3MP was a simple concept: 10 wave system plus extraction wave, and a challenge every 3 waves ish (wave 3, wave 6, wave 10), and each wave becoming gradually harder. To complete a wave, you had to kill all the enemies, or complete the challenge within the time limit, and when the challenge was done and time limit gone, you killed all the enemies. Easy. It was hard to break the wave, it was only stuff like enemies falling through the map, or the challenge itself (usually the escorts) falling through the map. Firebase London was the glitchiest, but that map could easily be avoided. It was only 1 of 10+ maps.
With DAIMP, they tried to build on that, but added in too many variables. If you have to wait to a key to drop, that's bound to glitch out. If you simply had to kill all the enemies that spawned, easy, it worked last time so it's going to work again. One of my friends have been playing DAIMP for the 360, and out of like, 10 times she played? The key only dropped a couple of times and that's just. Rubbish. Complete and utter garbage. The classes aren't as well built or as balanced as the classes in ME3MP. Some of the classes were garbage, but at least they were somewhat salvageable like the Krogan Warlord. Rubbish on anything higher than silver because of garbage mobility and he was pretty much Banshee bait, but absolutely fun to play on the lower difficulties. (I took him through a gold once with a few friends, and it was with Collectors and it was the most horrifying experience ever. We did extract though.)
People have also reported worse lag issues on DAIMP compared to ME3MP, more falling through maps, glitching into buildings, etc.
How they managed to botch up DAIMP worse than ME3MP now that they have experience is beyond me, seriously.
TL;DR: ME3MP accidentally fantastic, DAIMP accidentally rubbish. Let's hope they fix it and DAIMP can start to live up to ME3MP's name.
You are pointing out the big problem of DAIMP : This game is released AFTER ME3 and has a poorer MP!
You can't choose your enemy.
You can't buy at the shop a special chest to get rare or very rare item for sure.
The difficulty way too high! (Just try to do solo...)
LOT of glitches when you move (my archer keep teleporting close to the enemy after a dodge move or even jump at the enemy...)
"Waves" totally glitched (no key)
Enemy IA really strange (have seen multiple time enemies just passing by and hunting after a player that has not made a move yet and stay at 5 rooms of the enemy wave)
Not a single characteristic displayed! (HP, Mana, Endurance, Strenght... it is a RPG, you know...)
A really sad experience. But it is the same team : we can see a krogan head on a wall.
