Disney puts alot of love in everything. Ever played Kingdom Hearts? Got that for PS2, still works fine, and I'm gonna give that to my kid to play with in a couple of years time.

I love Kingdom Hearts! :)

And to keep this on topic: BioWare, please fix Dragon Age Inquisition so those of us who bought it for Xbox360 and PS3 can enjoy it too. Or give us our money back.

It's been three day since I purchased it. One time I talked to Cullen outside of Haven and then the soldiers around us stop in T-pose and started spinning, I thought they were summoning Cthulhu.

Does anyone know if farcry 4 is playable on 360? (sorry for offtopic but its on my want list and I DONT TRUST REVIEWS)

I haven't played Farcry 4 so I'm not very aware of situation.

From quick search however:

Well from user reviews on metacritic there is like 2 review that is negative on old gen (both consoles counted) and 20 are positive. With DAI it's 19 negative and 17 positive on PS3 and 16 positive and 12 negative on XBOX360. So according to those Farcry 4 is at least more liked ^^

On Amazon Farcry has 4-4,5/5 stars from customer reviews on old gen (both). DAI has 3-3,5/5.

That's what some who have played the game on consoles think. However I think it should be counted that XBOX360's metacritic page there was some reviews who gave to 10 to game just to fix "BS if other reviews". So I guess they wanted to wave the score rather than make honest review : /

Seriously.  I don't know how much other countries are paying for this, but we all paid $60-$70 plus tax for this.  And just a FYI the deluxe version...totally not worth it.  Charging us a next gen premium with less of the care.  Sounds like a cash grab to me.

Me too! I was very impressed by their sense of loyalty. Not even death can keep the soldiers of the Inquisition off the practise field! BioWare could learn something from them. ;)

Electronics have a lifespan. My xbox360 works perfectly and I just bought it like 6 years ago. But, I understand how the world of tech works. It's like asking why we need to buy DVDs when casette players still work. Hell, my casette player STILL works 30 years after, and I even have scotch-mended tapes that work, that doesn't mean I haven't moved on. Sure, I never bought a Blu-Ray, but I'm up to here in DVDs. With PCs it's even worse. You're not expected to have a PC you made like ten years ago, fullstop. It's unthinkable. So, why do we expect ten year old tech to still be in hype? The new gens are much more powerful and with alot better capabilities. It's a natural tech replacement process, sure, we don't much like it. But we can still have the old consoles and we can still play the old games on the old consoles. We just won't play any new games on the old consoles.

Which is my IMMENSE GRIEF with Bioware. They should have said "we don't release for old gen, period." They didn't. Instead they said "Ooooh it's gonna be great my luvs, marvelous entirely, only a few less NPCs here and there and you won't notice a difference, we swear." Yeah, right. If that ISN'T deceiptful advertisement, then I don't know what is. People sued Red Bull cause they didn't grow wings, and we can't sue Bioware for something hugely more realistic? All we need is a US lawyer. Or where Bioware is based, anyway, Ireland, I dunno.

You don't need a US lawyer. I don't even think you WANT one; legal precedent here favors business interests. You'll get farther faster with one from your home country, someone who understands the precedent regarding international trade and can determine whether there is a case for fraud. I still think everyone is best served by looking at the consumer protections already in place in his or her country/region if a refund is the goal. If censuring EA is the goal, that's a different kettle of fish...one where the fish look less like a full refund.

Personally I don't have the money to do either, so it's a moot point for the time being.

Today, on this underloved thread, I'm going to take you on a short adventure through DAI's text and subtitling via my TV!

Size references: TV is 30"+ (sorry, don't know the exact size, it's a hand me down), it is HD, the HDMI cable is in and it's in 720p. My xbox is an old xbox (an arcade version) but it still works like a charm. I am sitting an arm's length, or just over an arm's length, from the TV. (I use my arm's length, and I should note that I'm 4'11".) I tried to get my entire screen in the frame, and I will say that my phone camera is a decent camera because it is an up to date phone.

I recommend not quoting this post, due to the photo size.

Question: why would you use all caps as subtitles? Why would you make them so small? Why did you agree to this ridiculous idea in the first place? And why hasn't Bioware fixed it yet? It's a health issue and a disability issue.

TL;DR: grumble grumble grumble accessibility grumble grumble Bioware fucked up grumble grumble I'm going back to watching Vinesauce play Tomodachi Life.

You're right, I can't see a damned thing. It's a completely different experience for me sitting an arm's length (under 5'4") from my PC, though it would have been nice if they had chosen a font with greater differentiation between upper- and lowercase letters.

Same, or just doing no all caps at all and making the font and general lettering like the lettering we're reading now. Or like the subtitling and lettering in DA2, I heard the general consensus of that was pretty decent and legible.

It's just, how do you botch something so basic up so bad? I feel like this should go in a record book somewhere.

That may or may not be true where you live. A retailer's policy is not stronger than a law. If there are legal consumer protections in place where you are you may be able to insist on a refund.

Sadly they dont count games in consideration with this things so I'm lost. I've already searched about it.

I don't have any firsthand knowledge of what it's like in BioWare's offices but I do know that in San Francisco tech firms there is so much high-end equipment available that it's possible to lose perspective on the kind of hardware to which the the average person is exposed. That could contribute to the, erm, embotchment. It's not an excuse but it could be a cause.

That makes a hell of a lot of sense. Thank you for the information!

Actually, I can read the text better off those pictures you posted than I can on my own tellie. Not the subtitles, they look pretty much the same, but the rest of the text is a lot clearer.

I need to get a new TV...

And BioWare needs to step up and let us know if there will be patches focusing on fixing DA I for Xbox360/PS3.

There are 79 signatures on the petition... maybe the problems aren't that bad. Between my wife and I we have about 200 hours in on xbox360, one really old white one and a slim. We do have rare bugs and lockups but I can't say it justifies a refund... It hasn't kept me from really enjoying the game. I know I'm being a wet blanket but that's my 2 cents. There's so much to enjoy even with bugs it is totally worth the $60-70

It's all about how you advertise, how many time you do it and where.

If you don't go inform people yourself, they won't come at you.

Just saying that I don't think the petition has a lot of exposure and it's still new.

That's how fake hype is created, just by adverstising over and over the same thing for month.

For example, how many of you posted outside of this forum about these problems ?

Or did you even made a fun video to show these bugs on youtube ?

In Ubisot case, many started to laugh/be upset about those bugs because they talked about them on a big forum like Neogaf or on 4chan.

I think 79 is quite much taking accord that the petition was started less than week ago and none of us is any kind of internet famous. Maybe we should get it more exposure though, hmm.

The problem with game is inconcistency. It's great that you are able to play it with minor bugs but some XBOX360 players can't really play it at all cause of disk unreadable error or some other major bug.

I am guessing by March.  We might hear more concrete info on a new patch.

I don't think it is necessarily a good idea to wait 'till March- by then most old gen people, who would have supported us once they found out what their game was like, and hopefully found out where we were, ie this thread and the petition, will have probably returned it- if they're lucky, and are able to get a refund, or certainly may have let the issue go and have moved on to something else- if their not hardcore fans of the series. We will need their support- because it's not all about signatures at that point in then becomes about people chipping in on forums and agreeing with our views on the 'news story' we've highlighted. I also think it's not unreasonable to have a patch for these issues by the end of January- for a game that was released in November- maybe I'm overly optimistic. I say we strive to get 250 signatures by mid Jan, see the lay of the land- what Bioware announcements there are, and then if there's no news from their end we start sending to magazines etc.

Snip.

I've been struggling with whether to say something about this because I don't want it to sound as though I don't support your cause but I'm going to go ahead and hope you take this in the spirit in which it is intended: I think the petition's language should be strengthened. I think you should refrain from saying the problem affects players with older machines; that's a point for the other side to raise. I also think you should emphasize corporate responsibility, remove references to players' emotions, explain that there is no easy avenue for refund in some regions, and share what you plan to do with the petition once you agree you have enough signatures. Pig Bodine did a great job getting the petition set up and I think writing to the Amazon UK reviewers was an absolutely brilliant idea, one that should be repeated on other Amazon sites. It behooves you all to present the strongest argument you have with your petition, specifically that EA released the game for older gen consoles with the knowledge that it was too big for that tech and that it would, therefore, not work for some consumers. You have BioWare on record calling the game "a tight fit," if my memory serves. Cite them; that interview is out on the Internet. If you want them to be accountable, hold them accountable. Doing so will help strangers browsing the Care2 site decide whether to sign the petition even if they do not play games themselves.

Does anyone know if farcry 4 is playable on 360? (sorry for offtopic but its on my want list and I DONT TRUST REVIEWS)

Far Cry 4 is awesome- ending feels a bit rushed, but hey, it's not like the game is about the story and I didn't come across any glitches with my old xbox. You'll get about 20-35 hours of top notch fun out of it. Speaking personally- in real life I'm a vegan, but in the game I love the smell of carnage in the morning. There is nothing finer than stalking an evil dictator's ruthlessly oppressive forces with silent skill, then shooting a white rhino up the bum with a grenade launcher so you can then skin him and turn him into a wallet to hold more ammo... no wait, come back, I'm normal, really...
