I've been struggling with whether to say something about this because I don't want it to sound as though I don't support your cause but I'm going to go ahead and hope you take this in the spirit in which it is intended: I think the petition's language should be strengthened. I think you should refrain from saying the problem affects players with older machines; that's a point for the other side to raise. I also think you should emphasize corporate responsibility, remove references to players' emotions, explain that there is no easy avenue for refund in some regions, and share what you plan to do with the petition once you agree you have enough signatures. Pig Bodine did a great job getting the petition set up and I think writing to the Amazon UK reviewers was an absolutely brilliant idea, one that should be repeated on other Amazon sites. It behooves you all to present the strongest argument you have with your petition, specifically that EA released the game for older gen consoles with the knowledge that it was too big for that tech and that it would, therefore, not work for some consumers. You have BioWare on record calling the game "a tight fit," if my memory serves. Cite them; that interview is out on the Internet. If you want them to be accountable, hold them accountable. Doing so will help strangers browsing the Care2 site decide whether to sign the petition even if they do not play games themselves.

The reason I mentioned it being older machines is so that the people who deny we're telling the truth- because of their experience on a newer old gen xbox don't drown us out with positivity! I take what you mean about players emotions and will probably rejig the petition accordingly- though I would love suggestions on how you strengthen the wording without reffering to our frustration. I really like the idea about citing EA and will try and find a source. Not sure about mentioning corporate responsibility- there is a fine line between persuading people to sign because their is a question of injustice and making them think "...damn, these people are taking this whole thing too seriously in a world where people are dying of ebola, it's only a freakin' game etc..."

Well done! The new wording is great.  I've posted on my Facebook account and on Twitter again and I'm doing my best to make sure that my friends know about and sign the petition. I've also e-mailed the Swedish association for deaf and informed them that the game is un-playable for deaf players because of the tiny subtitles and so on. I know it's just one bug amongst many, but I figured that it can't help to get as many people involved in this as possible.

 

I think 79 signatures is a very good start considering the time of the year. And I think it will pick up after New Years. Everyone that I know has come across at least one major glitch or bug that's made them wonder what the hell BioWare was thinking, and this is over all platforms not just old gen consoles. We just need to stay positive and focused and keep spreading the word.

I believe I understand where you are coming from re: concerns about what people might think. It is a game, not an endangered species or a polluted water source. Nonetheless, a huge international corporation decided to release the game on old gen even though it was a certainty the game would not run for some consumers. To me, that is a corporate responsibility issue. It is my personal opinion that this is the sleaziest part of the DAI release of which I have heard, in part because it preys on an audience for whom money is a scarcity. It's your petition, however, and it should mean what you want to say not what I think it should say.

Sweet! If everyone who came here gets that active I know we can at least hit the target for the signatures- and emailing the Swedish Association For The Deaf was a great idea. Bioware are often, rightly, championed for being a lone post of social inclusion in a world of politically incorrect gaming. However they should be made accountable when they slip up. Just read an article about how D Age should be game of the year because of it's portrayal of gender roles- now I can't comment how good they are on this in Inquisition because I've yet to play the damn game that far in, but a company that prides itself on being inclusive really will not appreciate being accussed of making a game that specifically excludes the deaf. Obviously we mustn't just focus on questions of subtitling size etc, any more than I would want to focus purely on the disc unreadable error which is preventing me from playing- as I'd like to see everyone get to play the game, but it does seem that this issue might be one way of highlighting all the problems with the game to a wider public once we reach and hopefully exceed the signature target.

When money is a scarcity often time and energy are, too. Who has the presence of mind to fight for a refund while traveling between a first and second job? It's infinitely easier just to say "lesson learned" and get on with the business of earning a living. It's your petition, however, and it should mean what you want to say not what I think it should say. That said, I would be glad to offer some ideas on word choice at your invitation.

Also I believe that there is false marketing part involved as well since they said game wouldn't be lacking on 3rd gen consoles and I even found this interview: "Neil Thompson, the director of art and animation from BioWare has shared in an interview with VG247 that the dev team behind Dragon Age 3: Inquisition will be channeling all their efforts towards giving players a great looking game on both gen 3 consoles PS3 and Xbox 360. “We’ve probably pushed them further than we ever have before. When you’re trying to take a gen 4 experience and put it on a gen 3 console without compromise then by necessity you’re pushing those consoles really hard,” Thompson told VG247. Clearly, the PS4 and Xbox One will have an advantage from the graphics standpoint, but the aesthetics of the game will be about the same on both generations of consoles. “It’s tough,” he added. “We want people to have the same satisfying experience no matter what platform they play it on. From a graphical perspective the gen 4 versions look more dense, but in terms of the aesthetic of the game they should be the same across platforms.”

So only info we got when preordering or reserving game was couple interview like these on articles where BW stated game would fullfill potential of old gen consoles and there wasn't anything to be worried about. So honestly at least I thought I the game would be even better as ME3 and DA2 since it's newer than those and they said they fullfilled potential of the consoles..

Cool post bro, but fortunately I own this post now so dearest thread: what are the funniest glitches you've encountered/seen? I still stand by the one where someone approaching the Inquisitor about mail is 95% below ground, and the only parts of his body that are above ground is the forehead and helmet. Saw that on tumblr and I spent 50% of my time laughing and 50% of my time being sad that the game was released as a glitchy mess.

As for the text issues, I have no issues in 1080P aside from not being able to see enemy health numbers that well in Tactical cam. I have not done lower quality and probably won't.

 

I've seen situations where some of the inquisitor soldiers are halfway in the ground. That's like Bethesda level of glitches right there.

And yes, people are free to ignore signatures all they like. I'm not a huge fan of them myself, but right now they come in handy as an easy way to make people aware of the petition.

Thanks hun, it's a couple of things today, a little kid today begged me for something to eat while I was returning from the tax office, and it was like... I know you don't have them in Sweden, I lived 3 years in Denmark, but... when you just look into those little 6-7 year old eyes, and all the world's disappointment stares back at you, you kinda tend to have a bad day. Spent the entire day wondering if I could have done more... went back to where I found him later, but he was gone. Anyway, yeah, irrelevant, sorry. Also the money's not coming in, and I'm starting to get depressed from that too, definitely not a good day. Anyway. Sorry again. Ranted.
