Hey guys,

Are you familiar with gamermd83 from YT?

She has a gaming channel  and I have been subscribed to her for a while now because the tons of Bioware related content.

Yesterday she posted a video on her thoughts on cross-gen games.Although I did agree on a few points, I did disagree on some things she said.

She mentions Dragon Age Inquisition and to keep things short : Yes she acknowledges old genners have problems with this but she defends Bioware, stating that they worked really really hard to make it work for old gen just to please the fans etc.etc. and she said it kind of pisses her when people try to compare it with DA Origins or DA II when complaining about graphics etc.etc.

I am kind of disappointed that she didn't touch on Bioware's attitude on the whole issue. The fact they they are ignoring the people they sold a broken game to.

Any thoughts?

This is why I have given up.  Everyone that can play current-gen doesn't care about us.  It's just "shut up and like it, or upgrade".  If people with clout don't care, bioware won't care.  We can complain and petition until we are blue in the face but it means nothing.  Bioware will only care if a significant portion of their sales are threatened.  They aren't.

Given the quality of the port, "worked really really hard" and "old gen (version of DAI)" are mutually exclusive. I'm not even sure it was playtested, given the bug that hit every single time during Into The Abyss. Aside from some of the scenery, which does look good, it looks worse than DAO or DA2, especially with character models. When they actually load.

Also, "but they worked really hard" is a lousy excuse for well - anything. Just because you tried doesn't mean I need to give you brownie points, especially when I got something subpar far beyond what their own developers said. I honestly feel more ripped off than I did with DA2. Think about that for a second.

 Yeah it seems so.

The people who have it on current-gen will go as far as to say that their version could have been much better if only Bioware focused solely on it.That it's the fans fault for "demanding" an old-gen version and "forcing" the company to cut costs from the current-gen production to put it towards old gen.

I'm afraid that the end is nigh...Some mod will eventually lock this thread because it's "just the same people posting over and over again"

Problems I've encountered so far on ps3:

Freeze during the battle of "In Your Heart Shall Burn" (major turnoff!)

Freeze when I select Character Record

Constant lagging and freezing every time I'm in Haven

Texture pop-ups

Sound is out of sync sometimes

We already paid for the game, we shouldn't have to wait until these incompetent fucktards get their **** together!

After all this time I still have to say the text is too small.  I don't even bother reading codexes or journal entries.  Yes, it's better than what it was, but still darn-near unreadable.

Of late, I've also had random things just completely disappear, like some of the bandit camps, or a squad of Venatori.  Poof, gone.  Not there no more.  Can't kill, maim, destroy or loot.  And I've also started to encounter a lot of herbs or ores being all the way in rocks or the ground, making them unharvestable, but annoyingly still being pinged on the search pulse.

We are arriving in a very scary age in gaming IMO.  A select few publishers buying up most of the developers, sending games out the door in a beta state and making us pay for the privilege of testing them.  Developers who see customers as something less than customers and feeling they should be happy with whatever they put out.  Large chunks of game pulled and sold as DLC.  And we justify putting up with it because I think subconsciously we are addicted to the point that we will take whatever we can get our hands on.

They know we won't walk away from a bad product.  This is only going to get worse, perhaps to the point of another crash.  I see the same signs that lead to the last one happening now.

... and then the next two posts were by people I haven't seen on here before :)

Having said that? You're probably right, they probably will ignore us, but a) I'm still gonna bug them anyhow and  I'm hoping that at least those with issues pertaining to exclusion based on disability( the small text issues) one of those guys will manage to get a national disability group properly involved on this.

"But they tried! Really hard!" is such a crap defense it's just so--

Imagine someone setting fire to an office, then blamed the people who worked in the department for the fire, and then someone who works in a different department goes "oh my god, it doesn't matter because they tried! they totally like, put a hose on the fire for at least five minutes."

If I ever get into business, I'm going to take up Bioware's business ethic. I'm going to sell a pile of literal **** with glitter on, sell it for £60 and when people complain I'm going to go "but I TRIED REALLY HARD YOU GUYS, I spent 5 minutes sprinkling glitter onto actual ****!" I'm also going to put all pieces of information about my business in size 6 font at most.

@Bioware

Oh my god can you imagine if actual professionals got paid to be **** ups like gaming companies are. Paramedics using latex gloves on a patient that is deathly allergic to latex, going into anaphylactic shock, and then using an epipen and calling it a day 1 patch. Then blamed the patient for being allergic and not being prepared for latex gloves. It'd be such a clusterfuck.

Anyway, back on topic. How about them unplayable games son?

Hello everyone! I've worked double shifts so I haven't had time to keep up with anything really.

Has there been any updates on Patch 3?

Has BioWare said anything about fixing Dragon Age Inquisition for old gen consoles?

Okay, so I've read up on the new pages and nothing has changed. The game is still riddled with bugs and glitches, BioWare is still ignoring us and that article-thingy on Patch3 doesn't even mention old gen consoles... *sigh*

Does anyone want to hold hands and sing Kumbaya?

sorry to say this but if developers axed the consoles a year ago we'd be getting more advanced , but in 2015 well be seeing more  cross platform games that aren't  ps3 xbox 360 compatible,

It's pretty much obvious that they don't care anymore about the last gen version. I have stated this a few times here: this thread is open here just for the sake of people with old gen versions have a place to air their grievance and to, well, basically, "collect them into one place" so that they don't spread their negativity on the entire Dragon Age forum.

Kind of like... quarantine zone for the diseased that no one cares :P

Face the music, guys. They don't care about any of you. I am sorry to be so blunt like this, really I am, but they just don't care about you. To think otherwise is just denial and hopeless wishing on your part.

In other news!

FUN WITH CONAL PIERSE- it's my new game show where there are only winners...

Do you remember his fun tweet to my last enquiry?

'if you are experiencing issues, please report them on Answers HQ or to @dragonage'

Well, I had to tweet him back being as I'm such a sociable guy.

My reply: ' ur joking? No answers, no responsibility taken. Read the thread http://forum.bioware.com/topic/522013-old-gen-ps3-and-xbox360-master-thread-bioware-please-fix-these-issues/ …'and take responsibility.'

I didn't get an answer so I followed it up with this olive branch.

'no reply? no surprise. who is responsible? if this was a call centre I'd be asking to speak to a manager'

His reply to this really helped me put things into perspective.

'again, if you are having issues, you can report them here: http://help.ea.com/en/contact-us/new/?product=dragon-age-inquisition

I am unable to provide info or tech support.'

Can't wait to see if he bothers to reply to my answer to this, which was:

'Fair enough, but neither are they on these issues. Someone needs to assure us that patch 3 fixes disc unreadable error, etc.'

Then just to clarify I tweeted this.

'we've all tried EA help and, well, they don't. We need an announcement that assures us patch 3 will sort these issues, please.'

I really want to thank him. I never thought I'd be able to distill my feelings into 127 characters but i feel he's really helping me to get in touch with my inner pithyness. I can be such a chatty cathy sometimes, especially with star developers. To think this man was the lead coder on Jade Empire, a series which preached the virtues of honesty, hard work and justice, and now he is able to truly hold the line for

EA? Well, that is an inspiration to us all. I urge you to message him too- he really likes to chat.

MESSAGE HER! Direct her to this thread and the petition. Bug people, that's what I'm gonna keep doing.  The game is broken for alot of people. i keep seeing new comments on EA Help. They want us to be passive and moan on this forum. Go into the world connect with others who are annoyed and direct them to the petition, post links to it on comment sections- send it to journalists. Also bug the developers either they will listen or at least you know you're annoying someone who has alreday annoyed you- hell, with some of us they've effectively stolen our money.

Again, why did they release the game on first gen consoles then?? If they did this knowing full well that the game wouldn't work as intended then it is fraud. Maybe we are in denial as you say, but that doesn't change the fact that we paid the same ammount of money as you have for a game with some pretty serious issues. If BioWare just released the game with no intention of actually making it work on old gen consoles and only as a way to earn money then according to Swedish laws that is a crime, and I for one am going to get in touch with The Swedish Consumer Department and report BioWare. This might sound silly to you, but the SCD does have power and they can force BioWare to give me a refound.

You're simply the best... :D

I have problems getting my Twitter-account to work, but Facebook works like a charm and I'm doing my best to keep reminding BioWare that this thread exists and that they need to at least acknowledge that there are glitches and bugs making Dragon Age Inquisition more or less unplayable on old gen consoles. And that Patch2 in some ways actually made things worse.

I have no intention of giving up, as some other members on the forum has suggested. Why should I? We have all the right in the world to get our money's worth same as those who bought the game for PC and second gen consoles.

A little update: I got my Twitter-account to work on the laptop and I've tweeted: @Mike_Laidlaw@Cameron_Lee@BioMarkDarrah@dragonage@bioware and @ConalPierse

I wrote: STOP ignoring your old gen customers!! We paid as much as PC/XboxOne! PLZ ADRESS THESE ISSUES: http://forum.bioware...x-these-issues/

I've also posted the same message a bunch of times on BioWare's different Facebook accounts. Feel free to copy the message and tweet/post it too. The more the merrier. Now bring forth the marshmallows and chocolate! Wee shaaall overcooome... Wee shaaall ooovercoome... Weee shaall overcome sooome daaaay... We shall overcome soome daaay!!

Oh, and if anyone wants to get in touch with me on Twitter I'm on @Faeryia. If you follow me, I promise to follow you back. I'm not very good at tweeting though, but now that I've gotten the account up and running properly, I'll give it a shot. :)

Update #2: I've PM'd  Allan Schumacher, Mark Darrah and Cameron Lee here on the board. Again, feel free to copy the message and PM them too. Posting in this thread and on the EA Help forum clearly isn't enough to make BioWare take notice that they need to fix the major issues with DA I on old gen consoles. Like, Pig Bodine says, we need to keep bugging them. And the more people bugging them the harder it will be for them to ignore us:

Please, stop ignoring your old gen customers! We paid as much as those who bought the game for PC/XboxOne/PS4. We expected to get a game that we could play on our consoles, not this glitchy bug-riddled mess that is Dragon Age Inquisition. A lot of us can't even play the game at all due to disc read errors and sound completely going mute after Patch 2 and other major problems and issues.

We have reported this many, many times on the EA Help forum and gotten no replies at all. You need to step up and acknowledge that there are serious glitches and bugs ruining DA I on Xbox360/PS3. If the problems can't be solved then we should be able to get our money back. Right now a lot of people think you released the game on old gen consoles knowing full well that it wouldn't work and they, including myself, feels cheated and robbed. This is not what I expected from you, BioWare. Please, at least talk to us.

Please address these issues: http://forum.bioware...x-these-issues/

If the store has website/facebook/twitter, you could post or tweet that the old gen copies have major issues and that anyone buying the game for Xbox360/PS3 should be aware that they might be paying for a game that they won't be able to play.

The cost of giving everyone a refund who asks will be less than fixing the game.  The know it's broken, they know we're mad.  They don't care.  They know that PC players are sated by giving them attention, and current gen has no issues.  They know some of us will upgrade to play the game.  They know we have not yet reached a point where people will refuse to do business with a game company en masse because of bad practices.

I have noticed that too, especially on the Storm Coast. And there are a lot of birds sitting on nothing but thin air. It looks really weird. Still, if that were the only issues I had with Dragon Age Inquisition on Xbox360 I could live with that, but sadly it's not.

They will fix it and heres why

Its called greed

They didnt do us a favor and release the game on last gen. They did it for money .

Problem is when they release dlc they want that market share. Theres millions of potential dollars/currency

The game currently looks, plays and sometimes sounds like crap on most old gen. My prediction is they patch it before dlc

If the pc/nextgen elites think they wont do it they are wrong. That money is desired and the amount of effort is minimal. Decisions will be handeddown by people who font know code and dont care

We try too support game that we love,i enjoy dragon age play it since da:o bought all the dlc, same for da:oa and then da2 bought the deluxe too,but in dragon age inquisition...well really disappointed why here it is

game crash nearly 20 time on my ps3 and i fear that each time it crash will make my ps3 corrupted cause of all this

Major lag that happen when i was on FOasis and try too found all the shard and needed too leave the area to make that bug go away

The rush the Qunari race making just tall, have fews horn/hair and no blasted unique armor the only that that is qunari like are the weapon but i din't see any schematic for then at all

Choice! the choice we did in the pass game we really din't matter beside a few change i think it just a waste

The fall, what with all the falling monster from the sky or our main hero or companion fall form the sky and almost die each time good for the monster but very bad for us when we are in a blasted battle

I think they could have push the game about a month or 2 just too fix a few thing beside of rushing it like most game of ea/bioware for both old and new gen
