I think we all need to take a deep breath and count to ten or something. Or we might end up getting this thread locked.
Emotions are bound to run high when dealing with a much anticipated continuation of a beloved game series such as Dragon Age. I am not saying that we shouldn't be able to vent some of that frustration, God knows I have done that, but I don't think this should be aimed at other users. The simple truth is that we are all unique little snowflakes and that we will disagree and butt heads, but we shouldn't let it go the point where we end up acting like kids in a sandbox fighting over toys. ![]()

Actually I'm telling you that if you want the devs to respond you should reel in the abuse and conspiracy theories.
You think people having real problems are conspiracy theories? I regret taking you seriously.

Then we better concentrate on threads that made a good listing of the differents glitchs, bugs and suggestion. Each time a new guy post a problem or a suggestion that is currently listed, just post a link to the current thread. It will calm down the new guys but, sadly, they will see that the problems are knows since weeks.

Good thinking. ![]()
I love this thread. It has become something of a community in its own right, but that does mean that the posts reporting problems and issues drown a bit. I think Panda is making good work updating the OP with the different problems but is there another thread we can use where we can report the glitches and bugs and stuff? It wouldn't harm adding to such a thread if there is one, quite the contrary.
And sorry for any horrible typos. I'm on the cell and can't really do any spell-checking.

What started out as a listing of all the bugs, crashes, and issues that last gen users on this board and on the EA help forum started with just that. Then it turned into suggestions that Bioware/EA is just ignoring their customer base who are still use the last gen. Cause? The absolute non-responsive stance they have on these matters. I am not going to do the "they started it" bs., but I will say that when people get ignored, they tend to make assumptions to why they are being ignored. ![]()
As to why others on the last gen who may not be participating in our petition or outspoken? I haven't the clue, but, maybe you should do a straw poll. As i am fairly certain they are having real issues too. I am not on all forums, but I started with EA's help forum to find help on the micro-subtitles/text before I discovered the game crashing and freezing. The issues, it seems have grown, for the user base since I was last there.
edit: If the link seems broken, just go to the EA help board.

There is nothing wrong with this thread... Except, we just all need to take a deep breath and calm down. Panda is doing an excellent job of updating the front page and the thread seems to have more views than the others on this issue- and that in the final analysis is what counts And those numbers are also what may attract people who disagree or be here to cause controversy. If you feel someone's post on here is 'troll-like' just ignore it. Don't engage. Keyip may be a troll... or maybe not. Who knows and really who cares... just treat those posts with the same attention Bioware is currently paying to us. Assuming that they are not a troll, I think that Keyip is trying to point out that whilst we may have a valid grievance we don't stand a snowball in hells chance of getting a result. I can understand that, even if I don't agree. Three days ago I almost felt like calling it a day and giving up. Last night the petition got 22 more signatures. So just keep spreading the word, bugging people, etc... and then, if Bioware ignores the petition as well as this thread? Then we can discuss what's next, I guess?

Well, if you're visiting a site set up specifically for those who have problems you're always going to get a skewed sample of the community.
As for them ignoring you, as people have mentioned before, the last couple of devs who answered questions on the forums were flamed until they left. Maybe if people on the internet weren't so abusive, they'd feel more inclined to participate.
They're on holidays right now, which is why you don't have your patch. They've been on holidays since late December.

It's alright Pig, I ignored him entirely, and that's that. I have very low to zero patience towards people who will bend over backwards to prove that since they don't have a problem, you're lying or you're delusional when you claim you do. He's not the first, and I was extremely polite when I first replied to him in the other thread, when I provided him -and I am really regretting that- with the link to this thread. His claim was that Marc Darrah had already told us that we would be getting shite graphics and shite performance and we still went ahead and bought it, so it's all our fault. I provided the link and Panda's initial post. And he came here to be smarmy and smug. No sympathy from me, and that's the end of it.

Octarin, if you have nothing to say I advise you to stop talking. You're contaminating the forums with your pointless whines. Your original post was proven false, the thread you linked didn't prove what you wanted to, and you continuously conjure up strawmen because you have nothing to say.

You are all constantly moaning at BioWare but have you considered that MS and Sony are also to blame?
It is conceivable that a developer has the patch to a problem sitting on their computers but they have still have to go through the bureauracy of getting their patches certified by Sony/MS (not to mention paying for it). An example of this was with Fez.
BioWare have shown in the past that they can release 60 or so patches for their games (NWN) if they have not been constrained by the pencil pushers at MS/Sony who think they know DAI better than BW.
The patch certification process was supposed to force developers to release bug-free games and I respect that, but the concept has failed. Developers still adhere to the "ship now, patch later" mentality even when faced with patch-bills. The patch certification process for AAA devs needs to be relaxed because it failed in its goal to prevent buggy releases and is now a constraint. The X360's waiving of the patch fee is a step in the right direction but it needs to change for all platforms.
If BW could at least separate their patch cycles by platform, the two free platforms: X360 and PC should theoretically have patches quicker out the door.

That is very true, that Sony and MS are the gatekeepers for this patch. But not so for just announcing what will be fixed in said patches and when the dates those patches are slated for.

When I buy a Sony or MS game that needs the bug fixing this one needs, I'll moan at them too. Don't worry, personally I'm pretty democratic about whom I moan at
Joking aside, it's not the xbox's of the ps's problem, it's Frostbite's. It's a next gen engine that really wasn't meant to be used on older and rather incompatible tech. Which, we didn't know to begin with. Well, I didn't know to begin with, cause I'm not a tech, but I found out all about it after I hit the snag of "eat s@ite" when playing DA:I. And then I found out about how it was never meant for older tech and how it has incompatibility issues and other problems still from previous games and how EA forced it on Bioware's devs. Or so they say. In any case, the old tech machines are pretty much a known quantity, and given that other games play perfectly on them, we can't really say it's MS's or Sony's fault.

I was referring to the bureaucracy involved in patch deployment, not the hardware of the old gen consoles.
The following guy gets it.

Uh huh lot of things here ^^;
Actually I still think BW isn't even aware of the major problems or have decided to ignore them. Sony and MS might brake down patches but that doesn't forbid BW from gives us info. Cause I think lot of complain towards BW comes from that they ignore us, they refuse to make any statements and take responsibility over their buggy game. They should just man up and make blog post or post in news area about current problems and what they are fixing and apologise of the issues and don't act like nothing is wrong. This would be considered as good customer service and also owning up one's mistake, BW is currently lacking both departments.
And that's making me to lose all respect towards them. If they would take us seriously and would state what they are going to fix I'd be lot happier waiting for those fixes. I'm so freaking disapointed towards them and the way they treat customers.

Sorry to derail the conversation, but because this is the old gen thread, I wondered if someone else here might have encountered the issue I'm having:
Between myself and my roommate, we've played 400 hours (easily) since the game came out on the Xbox 360. And even though the troubleshooting for the banter glitch has worked, we've notice something:
In battle, in none of our saves, do characters *say* anything. They don't yell for help, they don't yell if they or someone else gets KO'ed, they don't celebrate a kill, Iron Bull doesn't even yell at dragons--none of it.
EA chat support (I went through three separate reps yesterday) doesn't seem to know what to make of this. I've gotten no response on the technical support forum, and Google isn't turning up anything. Has anyone else had this problem or something like it?
