Hello everyone I haven't been around lately for work issues but I haven't forgotten about this mess, but what I haven't been doing is play the game since early December lol.. The box is pretty dusty BTW, I wasted 65 dollars on a broken game , cheers! Good thing I pretend it was a gift lol and that I usually play Jedi academy movie battle 2 online instead, Happy new year as well.

The information of DAI in PS3 and XBOX 360 is currently shattered in many different threads which might make it hard for BW to address and get view how severe the problems really are so I decided to do this thread.

Not everyone is having same problems and there is lot of inconsistency: some have severe problems and some just some bugs.

ISSUES, CLITCHES AND BUGS

Performance issues:

  • Black screens, crashing and freezing game (better for some after patch 2 but still remain for many)
  • Frame-rate drops & major lag issues, for example Forbidden Oasis area is unplayable for some because of lag and frame-rate drop. (same as above)
  • Multiplayer gliches a lot and is unplayable for some (for example no key drop, no-end download and stuck on the ground).
  • Loading times are huge (over 20 min for some just to save the game)
  • Save files problems: corrupted, can't load some or any saves.
  • Disk unreadable- error on 360 & No digital download or installing game on HDD for 360.
  • Controller input lag.
  • Saving game freezes/crashes the game.

Gameplay issues, clitches and bugs:

  • Black screens during tactical camera (confirmed as not bug).
  • Dialogue wheel problems, sometimes dialogue has to be skipped in order of game to continue. (better for some after patch 2 but still remain for many)
  • Can't complete guests cause some parts of them won't load.
  • Enemies don't load or they don't attack player

Graphic issues:

  • Textures don't load properly or at all, texture pop-in's.
  • Screen tearing.
  • Low resolution at times.
  • Clipping issues: arms go through weapons or torso, chin goes through armor etc.
  • There is no scars in CC (confirmed as intentionally removed)
  • Lighting issues: in some places too dark to see (dungeons), in some places too much light.
  • Hair and bears have shiny bug.

Texture's don't load issue that's very usual and lows graphic quality and visuals of the game a lot:

Pictures by: http://bioticgirlfri...orrectly-on-the

Other major problems:

  • Sound problems: there is no sound, sound is lacking behind, dialogue has errors or doesn't come out right times, random sounds clitches. Happens in all background music, dialogue and sounds.
  • Problems of reading the texts; it's too small and/or blurry.

PATCH INFO

Patch 2 came 9th December. Patch planned to fix:

  • Stability – Various crashes, freezes, audio/voice glitches, and many stability improvements.
  • Gameplay – Conversations, quests, plot states, combat, UI, camera, controls, follower/enemy AI and path finding, exploits, radar, and search.
  • Multiplayer – In addition to some of the gameplay improvements listed above, multiplayer fixes also cover areas such as animations, game mode bugs, stat reporting, and stability/crash fixes.

Reported outcome by players: Many report smoother performance (less crashes and freezes), shorter loading times, less lag and framerate drops, and dialogue fixes (not as much skipping). Search tool has been improved. Some players seem to have performance issues and most of major problems still remain.

Spoiler

Please discuss here about the issues as respectfully and in polite manner as it's possible. Let's make Bioware hear our voices about the issues so there can be change.

For the PS3 DAI is HARD CRASHING the console, each time we need to Hard reboot the PS3, it is not an installation problem, i suspect it is an auto-save problem proper to DAI ...

Each time we fast travel the game auto save, and 1/5 time it crashe, same problem with auto save, if we are running when the game auto-save it crashe... On my side, each time the game auto-save i stop moving my character (and wait the save is finished)...

The auto save / saving the game take too much time (2-3 minutes or more), This freeze the PS3 and need an hard reboot... (i bought Inquisition on PSN, it is an digital version)

Disabling all the "sending datas" "in DAI Settings -> Account help ... It reduce the PS3 Crashes frequency...

PS : A DAI Save = 16 Mo

PS3 Saving : 2-3 minutes if not more

PS4 Saving : 5 seconds...

How could that be possible ? Both console have SATA HDD... 1.5 GB/Sec on PS3 3Gb/Sec on PS4, transfering 16Mo doen't take 2-3 mn even on SATA 1...

EA has released their estimate of how much they expect to make on 2015 from DLCs alone. It was over 1 million dollars. Will there be DLC plugs to fill in all the placeholders? You can bet that on the racetrack and wall street.

Actually that was $1 billion, not million.

I really couldn't care less about an industry crash. I'm living in an economic crash since March 2011, and I'm sorry I won't show the tinsiest bit of empathy towards companies.

I don't think you quite understood what I meant by crash.  I'm referring to the kind of crash that almost killed the entire industry because of practices just like we are seeing now.  I'm not much concerned with corporate profits, but I have no desire to see the gaming industry lost completely.

I rented the game from a local movie, music, video game place. (Vintage Stock.) After install, playing merry go round between disks, and the inevitable update installs. I played for about four hours, and died for some stupid reason. I reload my previous auto save, and it worked until it got to the second loading screen. Then my xbox crashed. I had to press the power button on the console turn it off, and then back on again. I try to load my auto save again, and the xbox crashed, again. I experimented and tried to load my previous hard save, (About an hour before my last auto save.) and it loaded fine. The only explanation I can think of is somehow, the auto save became corrupt. I deleted the auto save, and just continued from my last hard save, losing about an hours worth of playtime. To have that kind of error, that early in the game, was a little disconcerting. I was playing on an Xbox 360 Slim, with a 250GB hard drive, that was purchased brand new in 2011.

I've had other glitches occur, mostly relating to sound. Lines of dialogue that wouldn't play for whatever reason, or it would play but at a faster than normal playback speed. (Imagine, Cassandra, or Varric doing an impression of the micro machines guy from the late 80's.) I had subtitles turned on, and if I hadn't I would have had no idea what was said.

I had another glitch after I loaded my save from the night before. I had no audio, at all. My xbox made the usual start up noises, and the music on the menu screen was playing, but when I actually went into the game, no audio. No ambient music, background noise, dialogue, sound effects, nothing. I exited to the menu screen, when I heard the music playing, so I knew it wasn't my xbox. I reloaded my last save, and yup, still no audio. I then backed out of the game completely, and reloaded from the dashboard. The audio then decided to magically start working again.

Graphically, I've had a few issues. Textures that take a while to fully load, if at all. I don't know if it's just me, but everyone, and everything in the game looks as if it were slathered in Vaseline. Nothing as annoying as the audio bugs, but it is rather distracting.

I played it for two rental periods, about ten days, before I had enough. I returned the game and haven't touched it since. I'll probably pick it up again in about six months, provided they get the bugs fixed.

Oddly enough a friend of mine played it, also on 360, and he said he never had a problem.

Woah, disappeared for a couple of days to complete Jade Empire (which is a v good game, 10/10, currently a better experience than DAI) and saw that the thread had buffed up a couple of pages.

IMHO, the thread wouldn't be half as pissed if the Bioware/EA hadn't sold a broken game for £60 and then did absolutely nothing to address it. A simple post that's like, "hey, we're focusing on last gen issues for the next patch, let us know of any issues, etc!" could go such a long way you'd end up in Antartica with a warm smile on your face.

It's all about business practice.

I sold you an orange for £5, telling you it's an Orange of the Year, it's gonna blow your mind, and everyone can eat it! And you take a bite, and it's rotten. It's all green and disgusting inside. Sure, other people have got delicious fresh oranges but you have a disgusting green one which tastes like ass. So you're like, hey, can I have my money back, you sold me an orange, and told me it was gonna be great and stuff but you've sold me an out of date blob of disgusting bacteria!

(And, somewhere along the line, you find a group that have also been ripped off with shitty oranges.)

In response, I ignore you. At one point, I may blame you for not having the correct tastebuds to taste such a fine orange. Everyone agrees with me. "It's a delicious orange!" They say. "Stop being so grumpy!" I continue to ignore you two months on, continuing to sell dodgy oranges.

Bad business practice.

We wouldn't been half as mad if we were warned that this MAY be a bad experience for last gen because optimisation issues, but no, it was hyped up the wazoo much like Destiny and now so many people have an incredibly expensive coaster to put their shot of absinthe on because we're drinking ourselves into a stupor about how **** the Bioware business experience is currently.

New weird bug I'm running into.  Every now and then, I go to talk to someone, and for some reason, it doesn't fully kick in.  There's no wheel to choose dialogue with, forcing me to travel to a whole new map, then travel back and try to talk again.  So far, this has only happened on non-critical dialogue moments.

yeah these are the same problems I've encountered so far, I also had a save freeze and I remade my character and now when she talks there is some small graphical cuts by her mouth when she talks and it's really bothering me lol I didn't have this particular graphical issue during the first level so I don't know why it's happening now. Annoying as I made a new character because I was unhappy with my first characters appearance and now I've finally caught up to where I was and it's worse. I'm thinking it might be a problem with her lips or her nose placement or it could be that I used a slightly darker skin shade this time as opposed to the blinding white I used on my original character.

Great new odd couple sitcom on CBS: Potato and Orange- Orange is a rotten to the core videogame disc, Potato is a hapless operating system that tries to do good but is always being scuppered by Orange. - my excuses to those who missed the previous posts. I'm just campaigning to make Potato the Marauder Shields of this thread...

I'm having the same type of problems. And yes, it seems as if there are those lucky enough to have copies of the game that runs a lot better than ours. As far as I can tell it's like that over all platforms. Some people can't go more than a couple of minutes without a big bad bug ruining it, while others can play for hours and hours with only minor annoyances.

I've played the PC-version from finish to start. It took me around 120 hours because I did most of the side-quests, and the only problem that I noticed, aside from some pretty bad clipping and things like that, whas that the party member AI was really, really stupid. It had ranged fighters like Solas and Varric running straight into battle as if they thought they were melee fighters, and neither Blackwall or Cassandra ever blocked anything. Also, the party members never got out of the way when I cast area-effecting spells, which meant I ended up killing my own party as much as I did the enemies. I turned off Friendly Fire in the end.

All in all, there were no major bug that killed my game, whereas a friend of mine who also plays the game on PC, are having terrible problems with saves and textures and things like that, despite the fact that his PC meet all the requirements of the game.

Nowadays, buying a new copy of DAI is a part of lottery. Or more a russian roulette.

The fact the bugs are not on all copy make it pretty strange and, perhaps, is the main reason they go past the beta-test. If the guys on the test got good running versions, they will not see the problems. On the same side, how can people make patchs if they don't have the brocken versions to work on.

I'm seriously wondering WHY ALL THE AAA ARE BROCKEN ON RELEASE?! Seriously, they are big games, yeah, but they have the bigger teams and the bigger wallet too! My ten indies games have lesser bugs or glitchs all together than one AAA game.

I know. For a while back in late November, I was even tempted to live on instant noodles for a week and use the grocery money to buy a second copy of the game, hoping I would get one that was less buggy.

I came to my senses, thankfully.lol

It'd be good if Gamergate would have took more look into issues like this: game companies releasing broken games after pretty much false marketing them, relying on DLC sales and leaving games unpatched, bad communication, game journalists and sites given great reviews and awards to games that are broken and not playable in all platforms they are released. Too bad it became way too focused on female devs to actually have any kind of influence in the real problems in the industry.

Cause they KNOW that people are gonna buy them even in a shitty state if the Big Nice Company tells them the game's in perfect condition. And we do.

@Pig Bodine, There is a guy on youtube called Razorfist. He has a series on his channel titled the downfall of gaming journalism. I'd suggest to check it out, it's pretty eye opening. Fair warning though, Razorfist isn't exactly what I'd call politically correct.

@Faeryia, That's my second biggest non bug related complaint. For most of my playthrough, (Full disclosure, I only made it as far as right after arriving at skyhold before I got bored.) I had Varric, Cassandra, and the elf mage guy (Can't remember his name.) in my squad. Every stinking time, they would try to run in and tank with my Inquisitor and Cassandra.

I know the bugs seem to be on all platforms. I kinda casually follow the PC issues thread. Which was locked, then unlocked for some reason. Never seen that happen on a forum before.

@Keitaro57, That's exactly why I have a strict rent/borrow before buying policy. I've been burned way too many times, and have become cynical anymore. You want me to plunk down $60+ for you game. Then the proof had better be in the pudding, and not your marketing strategy.
