@Pig Bodine, have you tried the XBOX magazine? This month's issue has a piece on what they see as becaming a worrying trend of big companies releasing unfinished and bugged games. Though did not see Dragon Age: Inquisition mentioned, the other culprits of the last 3 months were in there.

I am mostly a lurker on the forum and rarely post but I have to add mine to the all the other X360 voices as I too have had problems with major and minor bugs both with gameplay and graphics.

I only pre-ordered the deluxe version of the game as at various points in the last couple of years, when asked, the producers and artistic director stated that the game would have run fine on old gen and the difference was in the graphics and area population, which to me meant it was going to be on the par with DA2 or (wishfull thinking) ME3 and not the mess I got.

That has really taught me a few hard lessons: do not follow closely the game development, do not ever pre-order, and wait until you have enough feedback from your fellow gamer before even begin thinking of buying a game.

Precisely my case, and precisely the conclusions I've reached as well.

Well, the next Mass Effect will most likely not be on the 360 and PS3, so I don't think WE will have to worry 'bout it.

Well I will probaply be here all enthuastic new things they have there but at least this time I know that when it's released it will be buggy mess and there is no point in pre-ordering it. Also now I know that BW isn't company you can trust nor company who listens feedback and people with problems so at least that will keep my exceptations of game in terms of performance and graphics low.

That might help with some problems but since DAI is still very messy in PC as well (my friend who has it in laptop has bug where you are always stuck in fade after CC and she can't play anything but CC of the game on her laptop so practically game is unplayable) I doubt ME will be in good condition either when it's released.

Little from column a, little from column b.

Anyhoo, back to problems that need fixing.  I got the weird "all sound cuts out" bug the other day.  Easy enough to fix, if just VERY annoying in its timing.  It kicked in right before a storyline segment, nothing but talking.  And I had to listen to it all in glorious silence.

Speaking of sound bugs, I get a double sound. Has anyone else ever had that happen? During cutscenes when someone speaks, even the Inquisitor, sometimes you get double the lines at a couple of milliseconds interval, resulting in a very disconcerting "I can't understand shite" feeling.

@JumboWheat01

It is not synonimous with functioning product though. I've seen posts from people with XB1, PS4 and high end computer about bugs in both SP and MP. So, no, I won't pre-ordered like I've done with the previous titles and wait a resonable amount of time before deciding to buy it as the so called 'improvements' made to the tacticts, ability and combats are not really to my taste.

Quite frankly, if I haven't been so invested in the DA lore and previous characters I would have returned it after the first 5 hours of playing and gone back to Borderlands the pre-sequel (claptrap FTW), which at least made me laugh throughout the PT.

Re: lack of ambient sound - Yup, it does it with mine as well.

@Panda

I'm with you on that, and so is my sister. Trust must be earned, and because of this we won't shell our money out, willy-nilly, anymore.

re: sound bug - I had that constantly before patch2, after that sparsely.

There is no general hysteria.

Up to now I've certainly been nothing but polite.

The only reason I put the last post up was because you accused someone of hyperbole when there was none- the most you could accuse them of was a deliberate attempt to shoe in the issue this forum is dedicated to onto a post that Bioware put up that has nothing to do with the issue, because a) they were being comic and b ) they were trying to get the message out there.

Quoting you- "I've got no problem with them deleting that comment. It a) contained hyperbole which b ) was being used weirdly to try and invalidate statistics (oh, the Xbox360 problems are focusing on women gamers who prefer to play as women characters and thus the stats are skewed. Please take them down *rolls eyes*)"-

Sorry but that seems to be a... ahem, strawman.

Go read their post again.

It seems to me that all it is saying is that they wish someone would fix this game, and I quote their comment which you critiqued " several lady gamers are here having xbox's with unplayable discs..." that is the only reference to gender- She is mock engaging with the article which is about gender and then bringing up the problems we are here to get fixed, that is all.

So, if you have no problem with Bioware deleting their comment then you do just want the person who posted to shut up.

Again I don't understand why you're posting here, what do you hope to achieve?

I know you're probably going to reply to this and I know it may seem a tacit admission of defeat to walk away, but I'm wondering whether it would be for the best to not reply to you again, because I need this thread to be about the issue, not an argument that will eventually disolve into a question of redundant semantics- with you crying strawman every 30 secs.

I think we may not win this fight. I agree with you. However i don't understand why you want to just pour cold water on the concept of even trying. If you look back at previous posts I was more than willing to give you the benefit of the doubt as to why you originally chipped in.

Now that you're not helping in any way, again, why are you here?

Boredom?

I was going to joke- "Some form of anti-Social Justice? A medal from your local debating society?"

Then i read that again and thought, that's just a bit prickly.

I apologise.

Look I'm sure you're here because you think some people are being hysterical.

Ok that's an opinion but it's not one most of us share, now what?

You want me to engage with that opinion again?

You think bioware should delete Octarin's 'hysterical' opinion- who made you the judge of that?

No-one's opinion is more important than the next mans.

Maybe Bioware is right and we should just shut up, that seems to be there's.

it's not mine.

I'm here for one thing, a somewhat naive attempt to get this game fixed. That's all. i don't believe Bioware are corrupt, have an agenda or there is a conspiracy. I just think they're like most corporations, somewhat incompetent on occasion.

I'd just like to play Dragon Age and so does everyone on here.

If you think we're all hysterical- don't enter the nuthouse.

I just want to get the game fixed, I'm not here to apportion blame or judge others for their opinions- unless they throw the first stone.

Thanks again for your input.

Actually, not even that. My comment was an answer to this lady here, asking this question:

But anyway, as I said I can't deal with a self-appointed martyr on a mission atm.

PS EDIT: Oh by the way, the comment's still there, with one like.

There seems to be so many sound bugs around so maybe I should make own category for them in the OP.

She's probably using the cutscene FPS fix. If she launches the game from Origin to create her character, everything will work. Once she gets out of the jail and on to the trail, she can save and exit and go back to using the cutscene fix.

Or maybe you could take it that as we don't have the marketing arm of a large company behind us, and that as every magazine I've sent this to so far has ignored any suggestion that this is an actual problem, and chosen not to run it as any kind of story,  that perhaps it's kind of difficult to get the message out there?

Maybe that will change if the numbers on the petition rise- I'm hoping it'll snowball. In the meantime, why are you on here? You have a game that works. Why are you wasting your time trying to shut people up who have one that doesn't?

Do you honestly think we come on here to moan because we're all collectively delusional?

I have never commented on a forum before: because, guess what? I've never needed to. And right now, you don't need to either. This is not a debating society. You can't refute or defend, you either have a game that works or a game that doesn't.

If it doesn't then you come on here to organise, because you hope there are enough people like you in the same boat to make the company do something about it.

If you don't?

Hell knows why you'd be there, the jokes about poatoes?

I'd advise, well, just step away.

Have you got nothing else in your life?

It would be like someone commenting on a thread full of people complaining about poor paliative care for their elderly grandparents when their's are happy in an excellent medical facility, saying ' well my nanna is fine, what are you bitching about?' You're not a medical expert/a Bioware rep. and you're not someone with a sick grandparent/broken game- so why would you be posting? The only comments on here that refute our stance should come from Bioware itself defending it's product :) -  oh maybe you're right to come for the jokes, 'cos that was an ironic zinger...

And no these problems probably aren't hitting the majority of xbox 360 and ps3 users, it is probably just older old gen consoles- and they don't deserve to be fixed because... reasons? I'll be honest, I don't even know if it's a significant minority of people who can't get the game to work, but as the petition has only been up 3 weeks and I have no mass media outlets at my fingertips to get the ball rolling then we're not going to know that for a little while...

I'm here to find out if I'm right and the numbers are there and then if this is a problem we can work towards solving, and you're here because..?

Well, I was going to be sarcastic and say because you work for Bioware maybe?

But to be honest a) I don't think they have the courtesy to flatter us with that much attention and  b ) given how masterful they are at diseminating half truths, if they did, I think they'd at least engratiate themselves on the thread before they spewed out their and your mantra of give up, shut up, give up, shut up...

Thanks but we'll do that when we're good and ready.

Few more things I've run into... amazing what you see when you actually go looking for them.

I've had a few times where a two-handed warrior was suddenly in the sword-and-shield pose.  Even tried to sheath his weapon on his hip, only for it to pop up on his back.  No idea what causes this or how to fix it, it pops up and goes away on its own.

Another one is where I suddenly see an NPC go flying across my field of vision to where they are supposed to be.  They don't seem to be harmed in any way, just sliding on their feat while standing up to get to where they're supposed to be.  Quite odd.  Doesn't happen all the time, but often enough.

And I've started having issues with the physics engine, where randomly I'll be launched extremely far one-way or another, whether from an npc moving/ability or one of my own.  Hasn't killed me yet.  Yet, being the operative term, since I have also been launched straight up.

Have posted in the XBOX magazines comments:

" Interesting article. Especially given that currently there are a number of old gen console owners who can't play Dragon Age Inquisition due to it crashing every ten minutes with a disc unredable error on the xbox 360 and random freezes on the ps3.

There are a lot of people on Bioware's own forum who have been complaining about this for weeks and reporting it to EA Help with no real response from Bioware.

Here's the thread with over 60,000 views:http://forum.bioware...x-these-issues/

As we've been ignored for some weeks now, we set up a petition recently to address this.

Please take the time to sign.

Thanks!

http://www.thepetiti...onsoles-fix-it/ "

Maybe they will notice- have also emailed direct to the guy who wrote the article in the hope he may listen...

If a lot of us write to the same journalists they may take notice.

His public email is dirigiblebill@googlemail.com

As ever be polite- especially, after all, as he's a journalist with nothing to do with this. We just want to get him to notice, report and generate publicity for this.

Cheers!

The petition's been talked about pretty constantly for the past 5 days. I have a feeling only people with older Xbox360 and PS3's are affected, thatt's just a guess coming from people's input (and the fact that my own is a newer 360 console.) I still hear more problems with the PC version than the old-gen console version though *shrugs*

I have one of the latest Xbox360 elite models, bought brand new 2013, and though I haven't gotten the read disc error and I have no problems getting the game to start, I frequently run into corrupted saves, textures not loading or flickering and audio being glitchy or going completely mute and the dialouge wheel not high-lighting and becoming active. Some of these issues seem to effect some copies of the game across all platforms, so no, I don't think only people with older versions of old gen consoles are the only ones having problems with DA I.

Without and end, there can be no beginning...

True enough.  It saved the industry last time, cleaned out a lot of the filth for a long time.  Perhaps it's time it happens again.
