Customer service doesn't really feel like customer service if it doesn't supply a) an answer to a problem or b ) at least the promise to get you a manager callback with some form of an answer in 48 hours. I understand you're patching a game, and that's difficult, and it isn't simple to respond to every request, etc- so therefore you need a different model of customer service. However Bioware were silent about these old gen problems for some weeks- I'm not just talking about a blanket reassurance that vague problems will be fixed. I'm talking about giving us a) an assurance these specific issues will probably be fixed or b ) that they can't be fixed and that you will sticker the product with a warning that it may not work on older old gen consoles. We've been supplying you with info since the start of this process and I'm glad to see you're still collating data but we would have liked to get more feedback ourselves. For instance have you got even the roughest of timetables as to when the old gen console patch will be released? It's taken a lot of going onto public spaces to get a response from you guys. I know it was the holidays, but just some reassurance or a definite no earlier would have been nice. Also, if it is a definite no and these issues can't be fixed- then how about all those people who hung onto their copies and now can't get a full refund for a game that is crashing every ten minutes or so? Will that be addressed?
I'll answer to you over here instead of PM cause it's pertinent. I've found that being a realist instead of a happy-go-lucky optimist really helps with not getting horribly let down. I wasn't. I'm actually rather amused as to how they can manage to both be deathbed late with this patch and at the same time manage to make it break everybody's gameplay in a variety of new and marvelous ways. Personally I got Divinity II The Dragon Knight Saga, one of Larian Studios' Divinity series games that I hadn't bought, and I am enjoying it thoroughly, much more than crappy DA:I despite the fact that it's a 2009 game, and the newest release, Divinity: Original Sin is out for some time now too (also fantastic).
You can contact support directly through here with specific issues and speak to customer service about your experience.
With regards to Octarin and others worrying that there's never going to be a patch for consoles, that's not accurate at all. Granted there's a certain reading between the lines with "PC patch 3 notes" but you are reading into it the wrong way.
I'm not at liberty to clarify further, but I'm sure some of your fellow forumites can (and have) clear that up for you.
So, a lesson to be learned dear boys and girls at Bioware, what matters isn't the month of your release, and I couldn't care less if November was more fortuitous than December, or how quickly you release the game, especially a multi-platform game with zero QA behind it. What matters is how fulfilled the player feels, and right about now I can tell you that at least half your customers are feeling q-u-i-t-e unfulfilled. Toodles from me then, I will be waiting a good semester to a year before getting the game and the new console for it after all. Till then, I'll return the xbox360 version I have and I'm more than happy to stick around here with my popcorn and watch the fireworks.
