That is all.....
We Xbox 360 / PS3 players (read: "Console Peasants" to people like you, no doubt) are not holding anyone back. Games like Wolfenstein: The New Order and The Last of Us received high praise from critics and gamers alike and both run very well on Xbox 360 and PS3. Even a game like Dishonored runs without issue on last-gen systems. Bioware chose to use an Engine (Frostbite) and clearly did not bother to optimize that Engine or DAI on Xbox 360 / PS3. This is probably because EA (who owns Bioware) believed the costs of optimizing DAI for Xbox 360 / PS3 would outweigh any benefits. EA probably also believed that the combined profits for DAI on PC, Xbox One and PS4 would likely outweigh any potential revenue lost on last-gen. While that may be true (from a strictly financial perspective), it is difficult to put a real value on the amount of "good will" Bioware would have likely gained from DA Fans (who play on Xbox 360 / PS3) had Bioware taken a different route with DAI for last-gen systems; one that would have made the DAI gaming experience (on last-gen systems) much more palatable than it is in its current state.
EA should have allowed Bioware three options regarding DAI for last-gen systems. Bioware should have had the option to either 1) Not release DAI for last-gen at all, if the technical hurdles presented by Frostbite were insurmountable or 2) use a modified version of the old Engine (for DAI on Xbox 360 / PS3) or 3) use Frostbite but delay the release of DAI (for Xbox 360 / PS3), for another 3 - 6 months, to give the Dev team time to make the game as close to issue-free as possible. Since Bioware chose to release DAI for last-gen systems, Bioware has at least a moral duty to see that the game functions properly.
To that end, Bioware has released several Patches to date. While I am grateful for the effort, it seems that most Patches have caused new issues (in addition to correcting old issues) that needed to be addressed with an immediate hotfix or another Patch. Bioware is at least aware that this is the case. The only evidence I need present is the fact that Bioware has begun accepting Beta testers for upcoming Patches on PC. As an FYI, you might want to check the PC Issues thread. There are several issues with DAI on PC that have nothing to do with the fact that DAI was released on last-gen systems. DirectX Crashes to Desktop is just one example. Furthermore, several people reporting having issues with DAI on PC (including not even being able to run it) also stated that their PC is very high-end and exceeds the Technical Specs required for the game to run.
Oh, if you got off your high-horse to relax because of TLDR;
EA should have allowed (read: insisted) Bioware do DAI right on last-gen systems (Xbox 360 / PS3) or not at all...

You can get back on your PC elitist high-horse now...
