I game on pc, but they paid for this game just as we did, and they deserve a properly functioning game. Too bad customer satisfaction is a secondary consideration to EA, it's all for the short term gain and profit for the shareholders.

Gaming is a hobby where you need to keep up with hardware....
As a PC gamer I need to have a decent video card in my machine so I can expect decent framerate to have a comparable experience.
Just cause EA sells this game for the older systems you can't expect great performance just like I couldn't expect great performance if I still had my old TNT card running.
Bugs are a differnt story, but how many sacrifices had to be made to the game so that people with ancient machines could play it?

When I read posts like that, I seriously hope game devs make game specifically for PC. Yes, game that need one specific graphic card, one specific OS, one specific RAM, one specific keyboard, one specific mouse and one specific screen. If one of the thing miss, you can't make it run. What? Because the game devs work to make the game work on all the different variations of PC (even less powered than PS360) they must not work to make it run on ONLY 4 differents hardwares?

I seriously hope guys like you will need to pay 2000 $ only to create the PC for EACH game. At that time, we will laugh too.

Gaming isn't some elitist hobby that requires tons of money. All you need is one working system. Also if you really think games worth is how demanding it is to hardware and DAI's problems are because there is old gen version, you are severely mistaken.

oh god. please don't come in here trying to tell people how to spend their money. When you start making it for them then you can. otherwise, don't troll.

i came in here to ask if anyone with a PS3 is unable to space between created names for custom armor and weapons. like there is no space bar in the keyboard that pops up and you can't press triangle to make it happen. that is such a weird and random thing. and before you ask, it only happens in DAI.

We Xbox 360 / PS3 players (read: "Console Peasants" to people like you, no doubt) are not holding anyone back.  Games like Wolfenstein:  The New Order and The Last of Us received high praise from critics and gamers alike and both run very well on Xbox 360 and PS3.  Even a game like Dishonored runs without issue on last-gen systems.   Bioware chose to use an Engine (Frostbite) and clearly did not bother to optimize that Engine or DAI on Xbox 360 / PS3.  This is probably because EA (who owns Bioware) believed the costs of optimizing DAI for Xbox 360 / PS3 would outweigh any benefits.  EA probably also believed that the combined profits for DAI on PC, Xbox One and PS4 would likely outweigh any potential revenue lost on last-gen.  While that may be true (from a strictly financial perspective), it is difficult to put a real value on the amount of "good will" Bioware would have likely gained from DA Fans (who play on Xbox 360 / PS3) had Bioware taken a different route with DAI for last-gen systems; one that would have made the DAI gaming experience (on last-gen systems) much more palatable than it is in its current state.

EA should have allowed Bioware three options regarding DAI for last-gen systems.  Bioware should have had the option to either 1) Not release DAI for last-gen at all, if the technical hurdles presented by Frostbite were insurmountable or 2) use a modified version of the old Engine (for DAI on Xbox 360 / PS3) or 3) use Frostbite but delay the release of DAI (for Xbox 360 / PS3), for another 3 - 6 months, to give the Dev team time to make the game as close to issue-free as possible.  Since Bioware chose to release DAI for last-gen systems, Bioware has at least a moral duty to see that the game functions properly.

To that end, Bioware has released several Patches to date.  While I am grateful for the effort, it seems that most Patches have caused new issues (in addition to correcting old issues) that needed to be addressed with an immediate hotfix or another Patch.  Bioware is at least aware that this is the case.  The only evidence I need present is the fact that Bioware has begun accepting Beta testers for upcoming Patches on PC.  As an FYI, you might want to check the PC Issues thread.  There are several issues with DAI on PC that have nothing to do with the fact that DAI was released on last-gen systems.  DirectX Crashes to Desktop is just one example.  Furthermore, several people reporting having issues with DAI on PC (including not even being able to run it) also stated that their PC is very high-end and exceeds the Technical Specs required for the game to run.

Oh, if you got off your high-horse to relax because of TLDR;

EA should have allowed (read: insisted) Bioware do DAI right on last-gen systems (Xbox 360 / PS3) or not at all...

You can get back on your PC elitist high-horse now...

Yes I have same problem, but you can go around it. Don't erase everything in the weapon/armor name cause it has spaces that you can use. Instead erase text, you can move with < and > through text and still leave spaces if you do so. So example: Blocking Shiny Armor. Don't simply erase everything, you have to leave spaces so erase Armor and use < to move (it leaves space) or write there and then use < to move and go to another word and erase it etc.

Lol, I hope you can make some sense out of that.

Somewhere in a secret underground lair (was gonna use "base", but lair sounds more foreboding), EA has statisticians keeping track of certain in-game player activities.  These statisticians noticed that players were using the spacebar very frequently.  The leader of these statisticians, we'll just call him "Fred" (see picture below), brought this up at an EA shareholders meeting and had the good judgement (for his career anyways) to suggest that EA / Bioware Monetize the use of the spacebar.  SO, the ability to use the spacebar was removed, until EA / Bioware can implement the "New Spacebar Usage Interface" which looks something like this:  $pacebar (Notice the dollar sign).  I would just like to note that several spies died to bring us this information.  May their souls rest in peace...

Picture of "Fred"

But on a serious note, the Spacebar issue is probably an unintended side-effect of Patch 5.  Hopefully, Patch 6 will correct the issue.  I play DAI on Xbox 360 and still have not installed Patch 5, since I am waiting for Bioware to release (or at least officially announce when it will release) The Black Emporium...

it's not a new error though. this missing spacebar was like this since i got DAI and I'm one of the not so bright people that pre-ordered it.

so hey Bioware person that may be reading this...PS3 needs a spacebar within your game.

Dragon's Dogma is amazing BTW, thanks for the recommendation Pig.

I have yet to install the current level of hell patch to DAI yet. Will probably get around to it tomorrow... er later today.

Nothing kills mood of cutscenes more than eyebrowns and eyelashes going on and off (including Dorian's moustaches, seriously those have their own life). Really these texture-pop-in's are bad, I don't have them all the time, but I have them all the time in cutscenes especially if they are longer one's and when I'm in inventory equiping stuff. It doesn't matter in inventory as much, just creates longer loader times, but it's really disturbing in cutscenes.

There would be so much to fix in this game still. Sigh, I don't have much faith anymore in Bioware though.

On a fun note (not that these bugs aren't annoying) Dorian's moustache dance is at least funny. It's one of the bugs I actually kind of enjoy. And the texture pop-in's shed some light on how the game is built. I specifically like watching all the layers of Varric's shirt pop in. And once, I fast traveled to Skyhold and had to watch every single layer of the castle pop in before I could move. Took like five minutes, but made me appreciate skyhold more.

One things kills the mood in cutscenes really better : the ear pointing out of the hoods!

Lol look at us, trying to find beaty and enjoyment in blatant bug and clitches in the game.

Armor texture pop-in's are quite intresting though.. too bad that they seem to increase loadtimes a lot.

I somehow can't be very happy about Dorian's moustache, cause he's best looking DA character I have seen so far and I would like to appreciate his prettiness, but I can't cause the moustache-nose-hairs. Same with Cassandra though, she looks simply awesome to me in new gen, but then I look the mushy pixels that's her face in my PS3 and well Josie starts look like goddess in comparison although I wasn't first into her looks at all :D

Wbino, not all of us think that buying the latest and greatest is in our game plan when it comes to money right now.  Just as you said, don't buy the latest nike... but instead of a game console there are things called bills and rent.  :)   None of us here said that we expected the game to look as spectacular as the ps4/xbone/latest pc.  What we did expect was a bugless/crash free/game as well as to be able to actually install it at day one.  Deep in this thread most of us said that if Bioware skipped the ps3/xbox360 gen because of the lack of the resources to get the full experience of DA Inquisition, we would have sucked it up and said ok.  But they put it out on the systems.

Anyway, let's not get into responding to Wbino with suck my etc etc etc.

I haven't had any single player problems with this game at all. That said multiplayer has been nothing but a nightmare for me. New sections don't load, invisible mobs... ect. Not just once or twice but every game. I can't believe ME3 multiplayer was put in as an after thought and worked great, but DAI multiplayer...... c'mon BioWare fix your ****. You should be a better company than this. Just because EA bought you doesn't mean you need to be slack on the product you realease.

My post WAS to be takin with a grain of salt.. hence the smiley....
It was only to nudge my fellow gamers to fully enjoy our hobby in the best possible way.
Unfortunately gaming is not like collecting stamps, you DO need to keep up at a certain point.
Yes your correct if Bio/EA sold it on a system it should be at least enjoyable.
But any complaints about the limitations of your hardware have to be realized......

Now let me get on my PC elitist horse and ride into the sunset..
