Dragon age Inquisition for PC. Minimal requirement :

2 GHz CPU

4 G of RAM

Free disk : 26 G

Xbox 360 :

3,2 GHz CPU

512 G of RAM

Free Disk : 250 GB.

Strange no? Looks like it's the PC that slow down the market...

On a fun note (not that these bugs aren't annoying) Dorian's moustache dance is at least funny. It's one of the bugs I actually kind of enjoy. And the texture pop-in's shed some light on how the game is built. I specifically like watching all the layers of Varric's shirt pop in. And once, I fast traveled to Skyhold and had to watch every single layer of the castle pop in before I could move. Took like five minutes, but made me appreciate skyhold more.

If I ever open a save from Skyhold I have to watch it appear layer by layer, unable to move.

Keep on twitter-ing at devs etc Keep on getting no reply. Petition up to 221 signatures now... what is wrong with these nug fondlers? Either tell us you're gonna fix it or fess up and refund, it's not rocket science.

Heh.

The XBox360 has 512 MB RAM... as in 1/8 of the 4 GB quoted as the PC minimum.

That said... I play on PC, but I really feel for XBox360/PS3 gamers. I felt tricked by their "for PC gamers" PR, but this is clearly worse.

I've heard PC gamers have their share of issues too.

Sorry about the bad RAM quoting on xbox 360. Looks like the site I used for info wasn't trustworthy.

But the fact lies that if the devs take lot of work to make a PC game run smoothly on an almost infinite of hardwares variations, it must be pretty easy for them to adapt the same game for a finished and stable hardware they are really used to.

Oh, I agree, this is a fair assumption. And we know that it can be done with Frostbite 3. For all the (multiplayer related) flak DICE got for BF4, their port to XBox360/PS3 was pretty darn good. I expected a similar quality for DA:I.

However, it seems that BioWare's devs struggled with the engine a bit. Things like the forced 30 FPS during cutscenes and the really weird lighting in many places look like some engine related trouble to me, and the problems on older consoles just seem another symptom.

Presumably a 6 hour demo won't be available on old gen because 5 and a 3/4 of those hours will be staring at a screen saying disc unreadable error.

I've read about that. This world is really turning to the wrongest! Look, they give a demo and people must be happy! But only during 6 days!

On old-gen, the demo is avaible on almost all games. Looks like that for the next-gen, the demo won't be obtainable anymore...

The gaming of tomorrow!

That is ridiculous... a demo? Why would they limit such a thing? Tis supposed to make you want to purchase the game is it not? At least that is what I thought, it appears I was incorrect. The gaming of tomorrow is looking less appealing as the days wear on..

Looks like I will be holding onto my PS3 for quite a while longer.

Also, DAI Patch 5 installed with no new progress on this end. Not surprised in the least bit, but I figured I would mention it.

I think limiting it to new gen is a tacit admission that it doesn't work on the old gen. The sales for 360 and ps3 were massive- so there is obviously a potential audience with those who haven't bought the game on old gen as large as those who haven't bought on new gen. They realise that it doesn't work on old gen and if people got to try it and find out, then they'd complain, especially if they were just casuals- (which demo trying people who haven't bought it yet would be) and not fanboys.

The more playthroughs I do with this game the more freezes I get. Quite infuriating, tbh. (Using PS3 btw)

I concur completely. What a very blatant way to mask a broken game. Typical EA stylings though, they are attempting to meld the VG market into some twisted beast where everything is limited time only and paid DLC will amount to an inclusion of patches.

This will Accomplish making it to where you really do not know what product you are getting until you have already paid for it and started playing. An assurance of their profits no matter the product.

True. I completed my first playthrough with Elf rogue at about 55 hours, no freezes. Started a new game with dwarf warrior 2 days ago, 3 freezes already... (PS3). How many more will come !!

Though aside from that, the game has been running quite well (for last gen). Sure the texture pop-ups are big distractions, and Dorian's sentient mustache is the stuff of the nightmares, but, I can still play the game from start to finish without any major annoyance, and have yet to face a game-breaking bug or even a minor one.

As for the load times, still better than ME 2, from my experience.

It's playable and quite enjoyable for me too, but some patches would really help. Something to increase text-sizes, not just subtitles, prevent texture-pop-in's, stabilize game so no crashes, CC needs help like why there is no scars and freckles (for some races) and why there is no metallic colored skin for qunari? (no grey or jet black, only human colours) and improve graphics on some characters like Cassandra and Dorian (especially Cass, her face always look 240p).

Bioware already said that there'll be no scars for the old gen. Though, I don't honestly care about it that much , I see the appeal, but that's something I wouldn't want on my character anyway, so same difference to me .

As for the other stuff, 4 months into the release, i think it's safe to say that hardly any of it is gonna get fixed.

Cassandra's face looks fine on my version, but seriously, Dorian's facial hair is really off putting, his mustache is on his nose and his soul patch is on his lips. Wish there was an option to tell him to shave.

I think they will still fix things, I heard that Skyrim's had patches that even came after year of the release, but probaply not many things for old gen. I think the Black Emporium is still coming.

How bad the thing plays seems to be all over the place- hence they're reluctance to address those of us for whom the game is flat out broke.

Well, here's hoping. Though I'll probably be done with the game by then .

Is the Black Emporium a free DLC ? Because I had my Dragon Age imported, it didn't release in my country, hence I cannot purchase the DLC's. So, I hope it's a free patch, cause I sure miss my favorite Geth.

It should be, it's currently in PC beta test. I don't really have more info about it.
