I've just discovered this today after playing the game for a couple of hours.

 

As a male character you only have a single female romance option from your followers. There are in fact two female romance options in total, but the second one is not a character you roam around the countryside with.

 

On top of that the single option you have is a burly tough girl tanky sword and shield type.

 

Seriously?

 

This has probably been covered a lot already I'm sure. But I have to say I'm pretty annoyed.

 

Thanks Bioware for a great game, but it should have more then a single romance partner for heterosexual males.

Meh. It doesnt bother me. I like both Cass and Josie. Going for Cass this playthrough tho. Im more disappointed that there still isnt a dwarf LI for either gender. Seems kinda crappy considering theres been 3 games now. But im not complaining. Im pleased with the LI's for DA:I

You have two options. Just because you don't like the idea of romancing an adviser doesn't change that.

I actually think Vivienne is hot and it would have been awesome if she was an option. But beauty tastes are not universal, so even if she was an option there would be a lot of unhappy players. 

 

I thought Samara in ME2 was the hottest as well, so obviously my tastes are a bit different from the regular classical. Was pretty disappointed to find out she wasn't a romance option.

 

The annoying thing is that it doesn't sound like we are going to be able to have mods anytime soon if at all, which would have been the quick answer. Just add a couple more companions or change the appearance/voice of some.

Can't. I've never been able to play as a female character. Tried it so many times in RPGs and MMOs. Just cannot get my head around it. Can't play as evil characters either. When I was in SWTOR I was empire, but light side sith! Oh Yeah! That was truly epic fun actually. The comments you would get from people in the game that were expecting you to torture and execute them, who you were merciful to instead, just epic.

It's not like anybody's discussing your romantic life during banter. Turns out only people who don't know you actually care.

Advisors are as important characters as followers though. In some sense even more important, you can't miss or made them leave unlike followers so they will be there regardless.

 

Also lesbian players (who play lesbian Inquisitor) have same options as you; one follower and one advisor. For some reason they don't complain though unlike many straight male players (who play straight male Inquisitors).

The advisers get plenty of development though so it turns out Josie's romance isn't lacking compared to Cass. Which is very good news.

Yep. Straight female humans get 3, straight female elves get 4. Straight female qunari and dwarves get two.

Apart from female human and elf everyone has equal numbers of romances. Idk why some straight male gamers can't stand the though of getting same amount than majority of the players.

Also, the Iron Bull was race-gated against dwarfs at one point. If that was still the case right now straight female dwarfs and gay male would have had one option. Not to mention that we wouldn't have Solas or Cullen without the extended development time. If the worst thing would have happened then female straight dwarfs and gay male dwarfs would have gotten the short end of the stick.

Straight girls were just the lucky ones this time around. Nothing wrong with that.
