passed all the set content i find myself wanting to max out my level and violate things, but im seemingly out of stuff to kill, so two questions.

1) what is the level cap?

2) how can i XP to get the after all the set content and events have been done?

1) Level cap is 25 until Awakening is released.

2) Once you finished the landsmeet you can only do DLCs. There is no such thing as 'grinding' per se. As far as I know experience is limited and I read somewhere that Bioware is aware there is not enough content for players to get to level 25. Solution to this I guess is to make or download a mod that has unlimited fights. (I remember seeing one called 'The Gauntlet' but have not tried it.)

i just didnt know if i was missing something

and yes ive done about everything you can do I.E. codex, mobs, quests, side quests, traps, chests, areana events still not 25

There is a finite number of enemies in the game, who do not respawn. Additionally, there is XP you get from codices and lockpicking. Getting most of the codices (all bar 3, which I cannot find, grrr), and doing all available DLC and practically every available quest, I managed to get to 24, and part-way to 25.

The only way for you to level up is to donate to your allies via the crates in your camp (which gets you approx. 10XP per item). But unfortunately, that doesn't involve killing anything.

yeah im in the same boat as you are, now we have to trade gold for xp to which there is also a finite amount of gold aswell.

Did you ally with the Dalish? If so then you can buy infinite amounts of elfroot from Varathorn in the Dalish camp, and donate it to the Dalish emissary for 880XP a bundle (for some reason the experience caps at this, even if you donate 99). If you sided with the Werewolves, then I'm afraid you're out of luck.

Interesting, I have only hit level 24 at the very end with donating most of my cash to redcliffe and was frustrated that it seemed I couln't get any higher. Guess I gotta stop selling all my gems and donate them to the dwarfs... meh such a boring way to level xD

I have seen someone post a bug or something where you can get the darkspawn blood and return to duncan, I forget what to do from this point. Something like talk to duncan but don't give him the blood. You can do this over and over to gain xp. I anyone knows what the proper way to do this is please refresh my memory.

That was patched.  If you want to do that, don't install 1.02

Likewise. Its particulrly worth it if you are playing a city elf or dwarf commer, as you hardly get any codex entries in those origins, which means you probably get more XP total in the game with this belt than playing as some other origins (I don't *know* this, but it seems logical). You get a lot of more entries during the origin as a Human Noble, Mage, Dalish Elf or Dwarf Noble.

Regarding the gems for the Dwarves: How useful is ti to donate these? Do you only get 10XP per item, or does it scale with gem quality? If so it'd be better to sell Saphires, etc. for the extra cash.

You can wear Memory Band, Archivist Belt(for more XP from codex), kill allies with AOE spells, or give a bigilion elfroot to the elf representative at camp.

Elfroots are the cheapest exp givers (cost to exp ratio) from Allied Troops bar none.

The best way to get XP is to set all the NPC's to passive;custom tactics. Use your Healers to heal self and allies, then, pound away on the swarms. This tactic gets you 98% of the experience through the game. Also, go Rogue as you get all trap and chest experience, as well.

What mgass? Stop posting false information, your whole party gets the exp, no matter who gets the kill. Learn to play, before you spread lies.

There is a 2% kill bonus to who ever does the killing, but it's not going to make a huge difference. Because of how the level scaling works, doing Orzammar early makes a big different in the amount of XP you gain. I'd still recommend doing the Circle first, you just aren't going to more than about level and a half out of that area and the bonuses are useful. Then do Orzammar, there's a ton of gold and you'll be below the low end of the level scaling there so you'll get more XP per kill.

Seeing as the last post before yours was about 6 months ago, I'm fairly sure the person who posted that knows by now.

Best way to get XP

Step 1: Max out Morrigans Herbalism

Step 2: Craft lots of Potent Lyrium Potions

Step 3: Sell said crafted Potent Lyriun Potions

Step 4: Repeat step 2 and 3 until you have the desired amount of money

Step 5: Gain access of the Dalish Camp

Step (5.5): Don't side with the werewolves or step 6 wont work.

Step 6: Buy lots and lots of Elfroot

Step 7: donate all Elfroots repeatedly to Allied donation box to the Dalish at your Camp

step 8. Repeat step 6 and 7 until you reach level 25.

Every time you sell 99 Potent Lyrium potions, you get a profit of 15 GOLD. With that method you could buy out every store if you wanted to.

The whole concept of gaining xps by giving materials to allies kinda sucks to me. I want to play the game to earn xps and not just gain xps for trading and crafting.

Since I play on the PC, I've utilized player mods to add 6 new map areas to my Origins map. I can now easily get to level 25 before the end of the game, even before the Landsmeet if I so desire.

What modded areas are you using?
