Modded areas added: Anvil & Hammer, Tower of Dreams, Alley of Murders (Denerim addon), Castle Cousland, Calenhad Tower and one other escapes my memory. Image IPB

Actually, I've found that I don't need to play them all to reach level 25. I can usually make it by playing 4 out of the 6 add-ons. Depending on my character class, I pick which ones I want to play that will yield the most enjoyable playing experience - loot is secondary because some of the items are "god-like" and I tend to shy away from using those. None of the modded items will transfer to Awakening, of course.

Im sure that when your on the Circle of Magi quest in 'The Fade' part you can just keep going in out of different areas and keep killing the Darkspawn, just not the bosses.

No.  Once you kill monsters in the Fade or anywhere else in Dragon Age, the monsters stay dead.  You don't get to repeat kill monsters for additional xps.  You can only earn a limited amount of xps from kills.

I thought I read that a bug in the Circle quest will allow a return to Uldred fight if you decline to go with the First Enchanter, descend one flight, and return. Never tried this exploit, but I believe it is mentioned here; possibly the Wiki.

The subject of this topic is "Best way to XP" - I had assumed it is to do so without exploits. I don't count mods as exploits simply because you still have to do some killing in order to earn xps in mods.

If you are playing an apathetic character, use Storm of the Century in unusual locations, such as the Dwarven Assembly, some of the back alleys in Denerim, possibly the Landsmeet, etc.

Best way to get exp is to play as a solo rogue and pick/disarm all traps and locks and do 100% damage in party contribution

If you wish to throw caution to the wind, the single most efficient way to xp is play on a PC, open the console and type 'runscript addxp 1000000'.

Congratulations. You've won the game.
