I haven't played the game yet on pc so I don't know what it's like BUT
It's quite unreasonable to sell a game to people, on a platform, and then have it so the game is unplayable unless you use a separate controller that most don't have.
I would expect xbox/ps4 users would react the same had they bought the game and then realised they needed to buy a gaming keyboard and mouse in order to play the game. Yes of course it's not the end of the world but it's extra money, a hassle, and something that you shouldn't need to do.
That said from the videos I've seen on PC playthroughs I don't think the controls are as bad as some people are making out.

So i played the trail and i can say safely that the tactical camera is fine for most purposes on my Xbox one, my only minor gripe is where they bind the tactical key to the "back" button which brings me nicely to the point and saving grace of PC's that you can bind your keys however you damn well like.
Okay so what if the defaults aren't what you like? change them!
the only minor issue with the tactical cam is that it can get a little cramped in caves, but to me at least that's part of how i feel it should be; cramped spaces should have a cramped feel to make the player think about how to manage their characters better and not get them all trapped.
games nowadays are getting too easy, all because players whine about convenience, wind back 10 years and you didn't have people complaining about things like this; you adjusted how you played in order to beat the game, if you didn't like that you put down the game and played something else.

the more I think about it, I'm at a crossroads of whether I want to play this like a FPS (which is what they want) or try the traditional method with all the ham-fisted button-holding/mashing involved.

The controls for PC are indeed bad but it isn't anything that a few tweaks in the key bindings can't solve.
Can you share these tweaks that you're saying?

Yea, and please tell us what you tweaked that allows us to click to move, or auto attack, or map controls to all our mouse buttons.

Now I also hear "wwaaa I don't wana play an rpg with a controller waaa (stamps feet like a kid)" just grow up please and stop being stubborn and childish there is a solution to play the game... use a controller. ... If you want to be stubborn and childish about it then stop posting get a refund and just shut up...
Thats a lot like demanding the adult stop building things with Legos and only use prebuilt Duplo kits.
I'll play the game with the M+K because thats whats comfortable for me to game with, if the game is horrible at it, I'll stop playing it until either Bioware or the community fixes the issues.

So you don't like the controls for pc... Then go out and buy or use an already existing controller and play the game and it is soo much more better and enjoyable you will not regret it...

I own Pc and xbox one version and i play pc with a controller and i love it stop keep saying useless bad things about a game that don't even have anything wrong with it your just nit picking...
Who's being childish now? ![]()
He has a point though(albeit in his own unique way)
I can tell PC controls are a little bit "wonky" but people making threads about it and complaining constantly isn't helping. It's not like BioWare just came into your house and raped your computer.
Actually, making threads and complaining about has led to the dev team taking notice and posting that they are looking into a fix. I doubt they would state that if they weren't looking into a fix. Granted, I hope the first "fix" is the DirectX CTD which I just started getting last night, leading the game to be actually unplayable rather than just annoying.

Thing is, using a controller won't actually fix the problems. You still have to manually walk around instead of clicking to move. You still have to walk right up to loot before you can pick it up rtaher than pressing a single command to walk there and get it. You still have to hold down a button to attack when not in tactical mode. Tactica mode is still subject to the same limitations. The flaws are there in both control systems.

Controls are bit stiff but combat is missing attack rush like in DA2 ![]()

Controller?
I do not play any game with gamepad. Tried it once and it made my fingers cramp up. After 20 minutes I simply could not continue.
I have never owned or used any xbox or playstation before in my life. I play games on PC using external keypad (Nostromo) + mouse. Really enjoyed the previous Dragon Age games, but I wouldn't enjoy any game with a weird controller device that makes my fingers hurt.
When I read this I just imagined a French aristocrat working on a peasant's farm in the whole noble getup XD

Sorry but this isn't the way to go about bringing this up. I'm going to go ahead and lock this up.
