I understand that it's unrealistic to have every female character look like a supermodel, but why do ALL have to be ugly. Above all, why are the ones that used be pretty now ugly? Leliana used to be good looking, now she's all emaciated and icky. Morrigan went from being beautiful (allowing for graphics) to looking like an aged crack ****** (just look: http://www.dragonage...humans/morrigan). And the romance options are ugly enough to make one asexual for life.

Again this. Male players really should expand their idea of beaty since this is getting tiring. You don't see lesbian players complaining about ugliness of females or straight female and gay players complaining about looks of male characters (which aren't even close to supermodels either). Thus I have to believe that the problem is on straight male players and not in the characters themselves.

DA:O took place at the beginning of DA2 and DA:I is 3 years after DA2, so it's been 10 years.

It all comes down to personal taste really. I don't find Sera attractive and I think that Leli looks a little...off. But I find Cass and Josie to be very attractive. Also, personality and all that jazz. Don't exclude it cos it can make someone you don't find overly attractive super sexy.

And ugly females should really expand their idea of dudes not finding them attractive. This complaint is just deluded. There is a reason 3s end up with 3s and 8s with 8s for the most part. The whole "expand their idea of beauty" is just 3s being upset that 8s don't want to pay attention to them.

No. You need to realise that they aren't ugly. As woman I can say that Cassandra looks are my ideal as woman, something I would love to look. Sera is cute with her little nose. Josie is beatiful like Indian princess (she looks close to Indian to me).

Are you serious bro? This game isn't a damn fashion model! Is a game full of warriors/rogues/mages... a fighting game... I can't believe that you're bitching about the women appearances. Who gives a crap about what they look like. Get over it.

And I fear you are going to get a lot of flak for this post, from different sides, but I do agree somewhat. While the personalities are sparkling as always and well-done, I do also think that, for example, Cassandra took a bad turn from the awesomeness of DA2 to DA:I, same with Leliana. Sera is awesome but seriously, I'd rather have a punk-ish mohawk for her than the raggedy catastrophe that is her hair atm...

 

Madame de fer is really pretty though, IMO.

The point being, not everyone finds them ugly. More people have gone on about how attractive they are than not. They are not to your taste, that is fine. Don't romance any of them. No one is forcing you to settle for "ugly woman" because you are not being forced into romancing them. You do have a choice in the matter.

Eh, I have never understood the apparently feminist (?) viewpoint that "everybody is pretty, it's just you that has to do away with unrealistic expectations yadda yadda". No. Not everybody is pretty. Just like you have sparkling or dull personalities, intelligent or dumb wits, people can be beautiful or not.

If it helps keeping the froth away from peoples' mouths, I don't consider myself pretty/handsome. And I have no problem with that, I have other qualities. So what? Still doesn't make me Prince Top-Model.

Well, if you are going to get on the side of beauty is in the eye of the beholder blah blah, then you can't complain about me or anyone else "not realizing" that they are really good looking. Nope, they look damn ugly.

 

And just cuz you want your lesbian lover to be the "male lesbian" doesn't mean anyone else should settle for butch chicks.

 

And just as in real life, I'd much rather romance good-looking ladies than w/e those rejects in this game are.
