On the Human Soldier, Concussive Shot 6b and Frag Grenade 5b both give damage over time vs organics. Do they stack weirdly with eachother in the same way that incendiary glitching does? I was just playing a couple of games with this setup, and it seemed like organic enemies were going down faster than they should've.

Not sure if anyone ever tried that specific test, but CS dot was tested extensively and never found to be bugged. There have been a lot of questions about any kind of dot being bugged like incendiary over the years, but none of those were found to be bugged.

However, CS dot is quite strong against organic opponents, especially on barriers.

I used this Cryo Human Soldier setup in two Gold pugs, Reactor Hazard Collectors and Rio Reapers:

http://kalence.drupa...!34O54324!29FBG

I was using Acolyte + CS vs mooks, Acolyte + CS + Grenades vs spawns, and AR + Hurricane vs leftover bosses. Kalence says that with this spec, the grenades are doing around 3500 vs armor, plus 50% (of base?) more bleed damage vs organics. Concussive Shot is doing a little over 500 per cast, plus something like an extra 400% (or is it 600%? shredder says an extra 200%, or 300% total, times the 200% of rank 5) vs chilled/frozen organics. (These figures are with the Acolyte equipped, but not the Hurricane.) Between Grenades + CS, anything organic and/or armored was dying pretty quickly, but still some of the big enemies were going down too fast, almost like the damage may have been glitching.

Edit: inb4 lolfitness instead of maxed passives

Edit2: forum doesn't seem to like that kalence link for some reason nvm it magically works now for no raisin

I'm unsure if +200% shredder isnt calculated on the *2 chilled CS

Lets look in the "first" http://forum.bioware...-gold-viable/ :

"Now, Shredder actually benefits from Shatter. What does this mean? It means the Shredder effect also gets doubled in damage. Concussive Shot, alone, can reach a maximum of nearly 500 damage with the the passive bonus power damage evolutions, Power Amplifier IV, and Mental Focuser. With Shredder and Shatter, against frozen/chilled organics you're talking about 1000 initial damage, and 2000 damage dealt over 10 seconds, total of 3000 damage! For a power that you can spam every 1.5 to 2 seconds, this is no small deal. Best part is that the DOT stacks much like Reave."

Yeah, exactly. That's how I've specced my Female Human Soldier since I started playing the multiplayer. This is the first time, though, that I've taken the bleed evolution on the Frag Grenades, and I was seeing such a big difference in damage output vs before that it's almost like something fishy was going on with the DoT.

Bleed makes a big difference imo.

You never used the Bleed Evo before? I always used it, then one time I wanted to try it without and all of a sudden I seen the bad rap folks were giving these nades. When I used to play with weaker weapons, those nades with Bleed and Armour always came in very handy for bosses.

For the nades,

(1) Rank 5b (Bleed Damage) is multiplicative (based on total damage).

 (2) Both Rank 6 evolutions are multiplicative (based on total damage) but only 50% and not 75% as stated.

This may explain why you are seeing a big damage increase with Bleed Damage.

Yep, bleed evo is multiplicative of the total damage so it's nothing to scoff at.

Don't think it is bugged, that is just a way to stack a lot of DOT on Organics.

Now take that into a Geth game and you will not be impressed.

As others have pointed out there are a few multiplicative bonuses at work here, hence the high damage. Using your build against armoured organics, an Acolyte shot followed by one Concussive Shot and a single Frag Grenade will do 4771.5 damage immediately and a further 4766.25 damage spread over 10 seconds for a total of 9537.75.

Add another CShot into that barrage and a gold Brute wouldn't survive it.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know the grenade bonuses were multiplicative, that really helps explain it. All the big organic armored units - Scions, Ravagers, Brutes, Banshees, Praymaxians - were taking huge hits.

Also yeah, it still felt decent vs Geth, but not the wrecking ball it was vs the others.

I might add that, in general, evolutions that add a percentage of the damage as dot usually refer to the total damage, and are therefore quite powerful.

Question: Are there armoured enemies that are also considered "Organic" for the purpose of these damage calculations? I assume Primes and Atlases would be a straight no, but it might make sense against Dargoons/Brutes/Banshees.

In the past, I always assumed the bonuses wouldn't apply to armour, but I never thought to ask until I read some of what's in here.

Now that I think about it, this may have been my first time playing this setup with the Power Amp instead of Cyclonics. It was just crazy how much better it was than before. I feel like I've been doing it wrong all along up til now. I was nervous going without the Cyclonics but it turns out if you're killing things fast enough you don't need shields.

Staph guise. You are letting the console nerds know how I'm owning them with the Scimitar.

There is some weirdness though with one of those DOTs. I get late weapon kills, like after I've ran into a completely different area of the map I'll get a Scimitar kill from something hit with DOT. No teammate with sabotage or anything weird like that.

IF you can spam CS fast enough you don't need the shields really.
