There is also the "[customisable character]" bug which makes the voice to your Inquisitor change halfway through the game which people seem to not be mentioning.
From what I hear, it makes the voice RESET rather than change. So a UK voice with elf/human and American voice with dwarf/qunari should be okay (at least that is the current theory about now. Don't take that as gospel).
So in short, if you're buying it now...
- Stick to the default voice for your race if you want to change [customisable character]'s face later
- Flip between male and female in the CC screen a few times
- Rebind keys to suit your preferences
- Lower MSAA if your FPS drops too low during gameplay
- Unlock FPS if it drops too far for you during cutscenes (though be aware this might have its own issues with lip-synching)
- Save often as the game may crash
I mean, most games I tweak at least a few button layouts (capslock for.. anything I'm looking at you) so I disagree that it is necessary for Bioware to have the button layout "exactly" how every PC gamer wants. But I totally agree that the difficulty the engine has with allowing both mouse and thumbpad functionality is annoying, as well as some other UI elements. But like I said before, I hope that they will introduce a patch to improve on it, or (crazy insane nevergonnahappen hope) they create a new UI scheme that fits the PC better (like SkyUI mod for Skyrim)
SkyUI took months to develop into its current iteration. It has some seriously dedicated modders ![]()
I seem to recall that Skyrim took about 5 patches to iron everything out...

I have updated my drivers(and so have many others). That stopped it for a while, but it eventually started up again with that.

Yeah I know, but what I am saying is that Bioware could provide a UI like that, even though I think it is highly unlikely for them to do so, and with Frostbite 3 engine mods of that extent are going to be almost impossible for even the most dedicated modder to provide ![]()
There's also the DirectX error on PC that causes a CTD. I've had it happened to me three of four times, twice within half an hour of each other.
Install the 340.52 driver set and the problem should go away.
