Anyone else feel this way? Dont want to spoil anything but after I met Hawke with my Inquisitor I knew that instant that it was destiny / meant to be. The writing team of DA:I has done a fantastic job. But this is a missed opportunity that will forever leave a sour aftertaste in its road-not-taken sorta way. 

Not sure if the writing team is reading this forum, but please enlighten us how you could miss out on such a gigantic opportunity?
As for the community, what do you think? Any reason this should NOT come to pass?

I love it when the writing team crushes the hopes for peoples fan-fiction, I picture them dipping clothes containing your tears in their beverages and toasting each other good work while relaxing on a beach island resort

Honestly, I adore Hawke and would have loved him as an option for my male inquisitor. Im kinda sad he isnt actually.

And do you expect Bioware to ... guess what your Hawke should be like? That's a weird expectation.

Have them pop up for a cameo or hear people talk about them, ok, but as a fully realized romance?

As much as I like Hawke, just having Hawke talking to the Inquisitor felt a bit surreal. Not bad, but odd. I just can't picture an romance. It would be like having an relationship with an alternate version of yourself from another universe. Could you do such an thing?

I hated the fact Hawke was their in the first place, because it was fully not my character, she was based somewhat on Harley Quinn personaltiy, which is humors with a hint of a aggressive personality to her. Instead, she was like Harley, after the 52 Harley's arc a shell of her former self to me. Grumbles! She has eyes only for Anders, so I don't understand how my inqustior would fit her.

Still better then guys who wanted to have incest-romances Bethany/Carver in DA2.At least Hawke is just NPC in DA:I.

Nope. My Hawke is already taken, I can see them both becoming good friends though since they share similar ideals(Hawke is a just a bit more greedy and hides her issues with humor.

This was my reaction as well.  I had to change my Hawke's look when the customization option popped up (they don't have her hairstyle anyway, but the closest option would be the one I'm using for my Inquisitor) or she and my Trevelyan would look like long lost sisters.  Still felt a bit like I was talking to myself.
