"Never". Right. Indeed they have, not that big though. These new breaches are obviously unique and are called rifts. Previous veil tears, if small enough, were easily closed by mages with a lot of Lyrium (circle mages), blood mages (Avernus) or fade entities (Sophia Dryden).

Blood magic causes tears in the veil, all that blood magic Avernus was doing is what sundered it

The Breach is different from a regular tear, a tear such as this that is actively spawning demons and opening up all over the world is not the same as a sundering of the veil following a battle or something.

Furthermore, templars ARE experienced in the suppression of magic which is what you use them for

And then she meets the mages.

Suggest meeting Fiona after Val Royeaux, Cassandra express a need to consider the Templars. Suggest meeting the Templars, Cassandra agrees. Someone obviously wasn't paying attention.

And then she meets "Fiona" and all that goes down the drain. When she meets Fiona in Redcliffe she's completely sure then that the mages are simply trying to gain the favor they lost back. That with her constant insulting of them should make it obvious who she prefers, even when you discount approval. It's not that hard really.

And she saw what the Templars have become, alignment with demons and red Lyrium.

Disbanding of Templars and Cassandra's reaction (defending the Inquisitor for the decision)

Cassandra completing raging at the situation and berating you for siding with Templars and not disbanding them

Continued because you cannot post more than two videos in one post:

Siding with mages and making them your ally (not imprisoning them). Cassandra is indifferent but is against Cullen's paranoid concerns.

Imprisong the mages, Cassandra disapproves, saying they are desperate enough we don't need to add to it.

I like how you're spamming a game I already own and have seen. I know how both sides go, and Cassandra clearly voices an opinion in favor of the Templars. Calm down, it's really not that big a deal.

Yes well her approval gains say otherwise.

Don't argue with those facts

She definitely prefers the Templars the entire game.

Yup.

She's just scripted to be agitated in that scene.

She even later admitted that the faction in question gave them enough power to seal the breach.

Rofl.  Yeah, I got that and it was hilarious as hell.  I picked the funny option of exiling him and his people to Tevinter with weapons which pretty much everyone approved of.

Yes well her approval gains say otherwise.

Yeah, Cassandra approves conscripting the mages if you did the mages and keeping the Templar Order intact if you did the templars but even if you pick the exact opposite option she doesn't make that big of a stink of it like Cullen does I think which is mostly about worrying about security with mages becoming abominations and such.  Surprsingly most of the party members approves those two options as well if I recall.

So a thread whose origins are about a mother who gave up her son so he can have a life turns into the millionth Mage vs. Templars thread? Where's Varric when you need him? Also, yeah, it'd pretty much screw Ferelden for her to tell them who she really is. BTW, anyone else wonder if Leliana knows about Fiona? Interesting how she pretty much disappeared from that scene when Alistair arrived, given how long it must have been since she had a chance to talk to one of the old Origins gang.

I was actually kind of heartbroken at Fiona's reaction to Alistair, and this...Elgar'nan, she's lived a rough life and then some (note: personal "toy" for a human noble from age 7 to age 14). Maybe she could have made some serious, even enormous, mistakes while trying to do right by her people? Maybe this makes her neither a saint or a monster, but another survivor trying to do her best by her own?
