Its like im playing an mmo or something, move 10 feet and every thing is back, I thought this was Dragon Age. There is no point to this other than to be annoying and make the player fustrated. I have always been a completionist in these games and in Inquisition exploration is a chore. There is already too many rocks and plants to pick up and animals to kill without them re-spawning, Same with enemies. In Origins, most times there was a reason for a battle. Battles mean nothing in Inquisition, they mean even less than they did in DA2. Enemies are generic and forgettable. I have played for over 10 hours and hundreds have died in my wake. Sure it makes sence for a few enemies to re-spawn over time so the zones are not barren but I just dont understand the point in making the game a grind. Bioware, if you want to turn this game into a pointless grind give us back auto attack. Im poasting because im fustrated. Origins is one of my favorite games and after waiting years for Inquisition I dont even want to play it, this being one of the main reasons. Is anyone else feeling this way or fustrated by these pointless and annoying re-spawns? Or all of you content with what bioware did to this game?
Why all the re-spawns? (Patch it already its a problem)

It's not a problem, it's a design decision to make the world feel alive and never exterminated.
And if your OCD is forcing you to pick up every plant, that's your problem, not the game's.

Hmm, it's not that bad IMO: Respawns seem to stop or are, at least, significantly reduced once you complete the main regional objectives. That said, I once had mobs pop right on top of me. Not cool.

I like picking flowers/plants (or actually I feel compelled to do so)
so it'd be nice if they didn't respawn so quickly...I'm never going to be able to save the world at this rate. ![]()

Yes respawning can function as a good mechanic to make the world feel more alive, but if you overdue it, or do it wrong (read: mammoths falling down from the sky for the player to see, as in Skyrim, or NPC's randomly spawning/changing features as soon as the player looks away, as in AC Unity, it has the opposite effect and breaks immersion).
For me the respawning rate is too high Inquistion, I feel it's been overdone, and in this regard exploring starts to remind me too much of an MMO - which it shouldn't, 'cause it's Dragon Age. We have plenty of MMOs out there with an abundance of respawning enemies, but there are very few Dragon Age games, so yeah I'm partly with the OP on this; I'd like less respawning in Inquistion, I don't want it removed completely, but I'd welcome some balancing in a future patch.

It doesn't make the world feel more alive if I just cleared out some templars and mages only for them to respawn on top of me 5 minutes later.

Agree completely, so I really hope Bioware will make respawning slower than it is now.

You forgot the Saints rows' cars each time you moved the camera...
Seriously many games have the respawn and "Zubat encounter" sindrome. But going "shadow to the colossus" is not the solution, maybe putting a timmer for respawn like 15 mins or so would be good

Agree 100%.
Personally I would prefer if nothing respawned at until I actually LEFT the map and went somewhere else.
I can't tell you how many times I was just standing somewhere and a bear/spider/etc just spawned a few feet from me.. its stupid.

What is funny is when they res-spawn right on top of you. "Four NPCs to beam down, Scotty"

Simple fix would be under Gameplay to have an option to set the respawn rate. Or just expose these commands and variables in the config files, or the console for PC players to adjust, as we usually do, to our liking.
Companies do not realise the great benefits to them of allowing PC Gamers to modify their games. I would never have enjoyed Mass Effect 1 , 2, or 3 without the modifications I made to them.
I have an entire directory of mods that I used for Dragon Age 2 as well.

The timers need to be adjusted. Playing on Nightmare, even simple fights take a while because of the need to use tac cam. Any time I start clearing through the hordes of mages and Templar in the middle of the Hinterlands, groups start respawning on top of me before I get through to the other side. I appreciate the intent, but tone down the timers or let us reduce respawning by claiming nearby landmarks or defeating specific encounters. Sometimes I want to take my time exploring without worrying about another band of rogues like the three I just killed meandering into my path.
+1
I think respawning in an openworld game is a must but this is just way too fast!! Respawn timer needs to be adjusted.

100% agree, the respawn in it's current state is tedious and immersion breaking. The situation ruins the experience of exploring when you defeat a group, wander down a path, dead end, then turn around and need to fight the same group again...
It makes sense to have an area respawn SOME enemies when you leave and come back "weeks" or "months" later but at this point it would be better to just not have respawning enemies at all. I'd prefer them to respawn maybe 10 or 20% each time you visit a region, otherwise it just becomes a chore.

If flowers didn't respawn, you'd run out of potions in a hurry; it all ties in....
Well you wouldn't need so many potions if there weren't an artificial number of combat encounters... Even so, I play on Nightmare and I can play for several hours without going through half of my potions (now that I turned AI off and play turn-by-turn), and the insta-heals replenish automatically. There has to be some balance they can strike.

Could re-spawns frequency be a funtion of your play difficulty? Would make sense.

It "would" make sense for the higher difficulty settings to have a longer respawn timer for resources and enemies.. but sadly, it doesn't work that way.
Someone is going to have to decompile this game so we can get at the lua script controlling timed respawns, because I have a feeling bioware won't do it.
