I realized something in this vast open world. We don't get very many dungeons. I'm in the Hinterlands and just entered the Storm Coast, cause I'm getting bored in the Hinterlands.

And dungeons to me aren't the small dinky caves we have in the Hinterlands. Dungeons are something you delve into and explore deep ruins.

Last time I checked DA2s dungeons were bad and DAI didn't get much better, all we have are these small caves, and small castle dungeon thingies.

I want some deep, dark tunneling exploration as well.

And don't tell me I get it later in the game. If that's the case, this game was really designed to frustrate the living hell at me. I hear the sidequest get better later in the game, erm hello to introduce your player into the world, wouldn't it be a good idea to have some good narrative driven side quest in the first region they enter? Guess not.

So, what the maps get better later in the game too?

Doesn't help I have no clue where I am going because the minimap is just a blank "compass" with little icons on it.

There is a Dwarven Dungeon called Valamaar hidden behind a waterfall in the Hinterlands. It's full of dwarf rogues and Darkspawn and a boss.

Found the location, didn't find the key though. Probably missed it three times already

protip for valammar, just completed it myself: go to your quest journal and "activate" the quest that says you need to find the key to valammar. it will then show you an area to search :)

Lol really then you have not explored much of the game yet trust me I have over 50 hours and there is a few decent size ones in the game. However one of them you better be high in Knight Echantress otherwise you will be hurting.

P.S

Every huge area has a decent size of a dungeon one of them is early area to unlock but wont know its there unless you do constant things on the war table to unlock it there is a monster in the place that kills you in one hit. It takes you to another whole new location and what you see there will make you turn away because even at level 16 I feel so under leveled compared to it.

So to sum up:

You come on here and make a ridiculous thread title and then spout off saying how you're upset because in the Hinterlands (which is the beginning of the game basically) and haven't found any dungeons yet.  But yet, you haven't looked for them as you probably haven't even halfway cleared Hinterlands yet.

I just don't understand some people.  Do you guys just enjoy bashing a game and gaming company because things aren't spoonfed or laid out right in front of you?  I mean to actually explore a little hurts, right?

I've played for about 15 hours, and I've run across 2 decent size dungeons I think (not main plot related).  With how much there is to explore and do in the overland maps though, it really just becomes a matter of aesthetics.  Dungeons are traditionally the more expansive mechanics focused part of an RPG, this game just has that everywhere.
