I beat alexius but the game bugs out after the cutscene, dorian says 'you'll have to do better than that' but besides the inquisitor looking at a defeated alexius and being able to change my inventory i can't really do anything.
i've tried restarting the game and nothing's changed.
never mind found an earlier save and it fied it
Ugh I'm having the same problem... I even reloaded my save to 20 mins before the Alexius fight and I'm stilling getting this...
I'm having the same problem. There seem to be quite a few people having this happen to them from what I've been reading. I haven't found a fix for it yet.
This needs to be fixed asap. I cannot move past this point and replaying from earlier startpoints does nothing to remedy it.
I had the same problem, and found the same EA Answers page; the repair install thing was a bit of a red herring in my case. What solved it for me (as far as I can tell) was plugging a gamepad into my PC and restarting the game; I set the control device to the gamepad from the main menu to see it had been recognized, then switched back to keyboard and mouse, the next time I tried the cutscene worked as normal.
I also got pretty good at that boss fight after 5 goes with 1 health potion, but I'm glad I'm past it. 
Edit: Come to think of it, the controller thing may be a red herring too, anyone tried just re-launching the game?
I tried the fix mentioned above twice. Even played without the using the mouse. Nothing worked. As soon as the majestar kneels, the cutscreen freezes. I can click on buttons, looks at character details but the scene does not move forward.
I've just ran into this bug. I'm on the xbone and simply can't do anything other than quit and do the whole thing again. This really needs fixed.
