This game has stolen my very heart. I am a long time fan of all things BioWare and I must say that this game has exceeded my expectations in so many ways. Being a long time fan of the company I sort of knew what to expect and always have high expectations... but this game is so friggin awesome! I just want to tip my hat to the awesome team that put this together.

20+ hours in and I am so amazed at how much there is to do and I love the story so far.

I am curious to know how others feel... yes there are some issues here and there, but man are they small compared to the awesome that is this game!

Thanks again BioWare and I can't wait to see what you do with this series in the future as well as Mass Effect 4!

Kudos to the team and keep up the awesome work!

With you, pal.

Game is legit. NME is gonna be a hell of a space odyssey.

Feel the same. I loved the game as soon as I started character creation.

Just wish I could play more than 30 minutes a time before it crashes. But hopefully there'll be a fix for it soon as a few people are getting the same problem. :D

It's one of the best games this year in my opinion.  Bioware has completely outdone themselves once again.

Almost the same here. I've spend 20+ hours and I'm only at choosing which between the Templars and Mages I will have as allies. There is soooooooo much to do without touching the main questline, its crazy!

Yes after playing this game, I can only imagine what they have planned for ME4 and it has me excited beyond what I initially was.

Yes, I'm not even out of the Hinterlands yet, but the game has been so amazing. I get instantly sucked into any side quest and picking up any herb.

I'm very interested to see what they do for the new ME, but I don't know. It's just hard to imagine ME without Shepard and Gaurrus.

There are only some hiccups PC wise (UI and Keyboard+Mouse controls), but besides that, I completely agree with everyone posting here :)

22 Hours here, still just scratching the surface, playing on PC, max settings no frame problems or crashes (used the 60 fps debug fix). Difficulty is in hard mode with Friendly Fire on. Loving the game so far, but I still think the controls for keyboard and mouse are crappy compared to DA Origins, and I prefered the darker tone of Origins myself, but the graphics in this one are awsome indeed.

About 15 hours in - been recruiting the companions - took peeks into several areas but have only explored large portions of Hinterlands/Storm Coast - but in no way are they "completed".

In love with this game.

I'm the opposite, crushingly disappointed. It plays like an offline MMO... no real quest design, wide open spaces filled with nothing in them. Combat is random spawns, not designed encounters. Totally different genre from Origins. Sad clown.

Loving the game so far, the open-world exploration part is nailed perfectly. There are minor problems here and there, but overall - great job, kudos Bioware.

You do realize Origins had side-quests that played exactly like those in DAI, minus open world? The chanter board, the Mage Collective jobs, etc? Get the quest, travel to target area, kill a few baddies or collect a few herbs, return to claim your reward?

There are designed opponent encounters in DAI, by the way. Random spawns are just that - random spawns. When fighting opponents that are part of a quest (like for example the - Hinterlands mild spoiler -

Spoiler
), their abilities and positioning on the battlefield is not random.

I second this. There are definitely set piece battles (I probably could use a better word here). As mentioned,

Like the OP mentioned, this game does certainly have a way of just sucking you in.  I purchased this game kind of on a whim and because I was simply looking for a good RPG since there has not been one come out for a long time, I liked BioWare's past games, and figured what the hell?  Lets give it a shot.  I also picked up my pre-order of Far Cry 4 that day - fully expecting to leave DA:I sitting and gathering dust until I had went through FC.  I haven't even gotten past the title screen in Far Cry 4 because DA:I completely took over.

This game caters to the explorer - or wandering fool - depending on what you happen to stumble upon.  There have been more than a couple of occasions where I have wandered into an area that I quickly discovered I had absolutely no business being in.  But, it is there, and I don't have some invisible wall blocking me simply because I don't meet some level requirement.  If you want to stumble unto a dragon and get toasted before you even get the chance to say to yourself "Hey look, a dragon!" - Well, then go ahead.

What I was looking for was a decent RPG to burn a few hours on, hoping for a decent story and the possibility of having a good time playing through.  What I got was a HUGE game that is so chock full of things to do, kill, or find; that I will likely burn a few months rather than just a couple of hours.

Good game, BioWare.  Good game.

I can say this I spent about 50 hours in already and I located something you may have to wait to beat the game to take on or I will just grind the crap out of levels killed one dragon going to kill another one later this feels like the old days of bioware. This game is really good and not sure how many locations there is left. I can't tell what is a region or not sometimes some feel huge yet very small pretty sure they are not regions. I can say I have a over abundance of power, also make sure to save as much gold as you can you can eventually buy something very, very good for a warrior for slaying dragons. I have not turned my game down from hard mode and not had to use the tac cam yet I just over level myself before doing anything within the main story. I have died a ton of times specially fighting dragons. I also found within my 50 hours that every time I feel like I explored everything I can something else opens up.

I like the game so far, but honestly I have a really bad attention span and the large areas with sidequests everywhere are really throwing me off.

I feel the same way. I'm about 16 hours in and I keep wanting to see what's around the next corner, or what's on top of that mountain.  Finally got my act together last night and started cleaning up loose ends to push the story line along.  This game is going to take awhile, but it will be fun filled.

Awesome read! I love the way this game makes me feel when playing it. I feel so immersed. The way I am feeling invested into the world is amazing. The only other time I have been this immersed is with games like Mass Effect (Trilogy), Skyrim (I love Skyrim), and the Witcher. Outside of that, this kind of immersion is hard to find. I love this game and it is good to hear from all of you to see how your experience with it is. I'm clearly not the only one who absolutely loves this game. I'm not even sure I've eaten over the past few days. lol!

Try going to a different area.  I was having the same problem with the Hinterlands.  So, I moved to the Storm Coast for a bit, did some quests, explored a lot.  By the time I was done, i was ready to return to the Hinterlands.

Thank you for this thread, I haven't played yet as I'm in the UK but it's nice to see the other side, I've been reading about all the problems people are having and I was starting to get scared so I needed this.

This ^, I get so easily distracted with how tempting every area is to explore... You are just compelled to see whats around the next corner and it's intoxicating
