Thank you for this thread, I haven't played yet as I'm in the UK but it's nice to see the other side, I've been reading about all the problems people are having and I was starting to get scared so I needed this.

Oh no problem. The thing with forums after release is that people who enjoy the game are away playing it. The people who are having problems, don't like it, or just simply hate life tend to be the only posters during that time.

There are a ton of people who love this game beyond words.

The only reason I am on here is because I'm at my place of work and cannot play atm. So since I can't play right now, this is my fix... talking to fellow fans of the game

It's starting to grow on me. I hated the Hinterlands and most of the first act. The second is much better and the new zones are better as well.

I am only 6 ours in and I am just heading to the Hinterlands. When I read reports a few months back about how big some areas were I was a bit skeptical, but I am simply blown away by just how big the Haven area is alone. This is going to keep me busy through the long winter I think.

The problems most people are reporting are due to PC issues, and those can mostly be boiled down to PC requirements not being met or because those with an entitlement mentality are upset because the game was not designed specifically to meet their needs.

Is the game perfect, not quite.  But, the small issues that come up from time to time (and, in my experience are few and far between on the PS4) - are VERY easily overlooked by the amount of care, design, story, and almost overwhelming amount of things to do!  I am in over 17 hours so far, and I have barely progressed the main quest at all.  I just discovered today that those 17 hours have barely chipped the surface of this HUGE glacier; and I could not be more pleased with this purchase.  Worth every penny - and that is a lot when looking at the numerous problems other games have been released with lately, and yet they tell us it is a finished product. (UbiSoft, RockStar - Looking right at you guys!)

If you are going to focus on the small amount of technical issues that may occur here and there, then that is a choice.  If, however, you are in it to play a game, enjoy a story, and literally get lost when you happen to go out a little too far from the campsite (happened to me) - then this game has that in spades!

16 hours into the game and i just became the quizzy and reached Skyhold. Been loving every minute of it so far. Whether the story keeps up being this interesting remains to be seen.

Also, i love the inner circle of the Inquisition so far, even Cole. So far, this game is better than DA2 in every way possible. Also, better than DAO in some aspects, but i'll judge that when i finish the game.

So far it's been awesome.

PC tactical mode is a bit weird at first, but it takes time getting used to. Not sure why people are saying it's game breaking though. Tactical mode is a bit too similar to the consoles. Otherwise, i've loved the gameplay. It's pretty damn challenging in hard mode.

Now back to playing.

Yeah, if I didn't have classes to go to, all my time would be in Thedas. 7 hours, haven't left the Hinterlands, it's awesome.

Looking to be my favourite open world game to date!  But I'm only 8 hours in so far.  Trying to avoid major story elements until they fix the cutscene issues, which is kind of sad really....

Agreed! I really don't understand all the hate. I believe gamers are getting older and just simply not enjoying games like they used to but they won't stop because that's all they have known for entertainment (I am one) they mistake this for a crappy game. I love this game though, so much to do so little time and the soundtrack is beautiful as well.
