I've never actually completed ANY mission and I've ran prolly 30 of them. Extremely upsetting....
Demon commander is by far overtuned.

Yeah, he's balanced horribly with really cheap stun lock effects. It's like the Geth all over again.

yea dude, he's freaking impossible. I tanked all the way through level 20 in Threatening Mode and lost to this guy in zone 5 every single time. Came close a few times but still failed.
Although, I think I really needed combat roll, but you can't change spec loadout that I know of. Might be able to time it perfectly to avoid his BS 1 shot kill.

Wouldnt be so bad if his attack was realistically dodge able. If you are in the middle of any animation and he glows under you, theres no way you can escape the hit.

He definitely has the best damage and crowd control abilities of all the bosses. Due to his teleports and the fact that you have to stay so mobile against him, he also has some of the best survivability. They should probably take a closer look at it and make sure they really want it to be a "2 Keepers or wipe" boss.

He's beatable but still by far the most difficult monster out there you can fight. Ideally I'd tune down the frequency of the teleports, make it so that there's more of a delay from once you see the green coming below for him to come up (seen many instances of people sprinting around to avoid it and still being hit). Maybe add another pulse for his aoe panic so at least if you're meleeing him you can get out of it before it goes off, incredibly frustrating.
If I'm legionnaire I don't really mind him, or even a ranged class at least. Hate being any other melee class on him though.

We killed him with only one keeper, two tanks and myself as an archer on threatening yesterday. We held that little room in Orlais with only one entrance. You really need to keep him taunted so he doesn't OHK your damage dealer though, otherwise you'll get swarmed by mooks.

He's so cheap it's unbelievable
His 'pop thru the ground anywhere' attack is absurd and will one shot many characters. As well as his 'stun you for 5 second' attack.
At this point, I assume wave 5 fail as soon as wave 1 starts with that enemy

The nice thing about the demon commander is that its a very predictable boss in terms of where it places aggression. It almost exclusively will attack a fighter. So long as you have a fighter in the group, and they attack the demon commander, it will draw the argo. Leaving the rest of the group free to operate.
imo Legionnaire can easily tank the demon commander without problems (I guess depending on character level, gear, difficulty, etc.)
Also... not sure how popular combat role is as an ability. But the second tier on the ability removes stun. Or, if you get knocked down, it instantly picks you up. Its a new favorite for me.

Honestly I prefer the Demon Commander over other bosses (Other than Red Templar boss).
Although i never have trouble on threatening, when it comes to perilous i almost always get destroyed by the Qunari boss because players go down trying to take him out, or no one attacks him. Only time i actually get a win is when the boss goes down within seconds of zone 5 flag placement or someone uses a spirit resist tonic.
Venetori is annoying simply because of the bulky barrier and same goes for the Dark Spawn boss. Dark Spawn also has the ray of death though.
The Demon commander is relatively easy, more willpower = less damage. And if its a problem use a spirit resist tonic at start of zone 5 flag. Only thing to note is to have everybody a distance away from eachother so if the boss pops up hes not hitting the whole group.

Have you tried using a Spirit resistance tonic?
Beat me to saying this... Sure would be nice if more players actually utilized the potions they get. Other than the health one.
But I always found the Qunari commander to be the most difficult out of all of them. So I always pack a sprit resist potion. Demon commander is so mellow compared to how he was at the start of the game. Also, if you charge him down when he teleports away and stay close to him, he usually walks around for some reason.

Or get directly behind him and only use normal attack and he never moves at all

Lol quanri boss is dangerous but he is so squishy. If you have any physical damage dealers you can probably insta kill him the moment he jumps in.

He also takes out a whole bunch of his mooks with his hissy fit self destruct, reducing the shield wall farming potential.

This is an old topic and I think the Demon Commander has been nerfed so he's not as scary as before imo.
I agree that the Quanari Boss is hell though. And sometimes there's two of them to deal with at the same time.
I don't mind his high damage, but we need to be able to avoid some of the insta-kill things he throws at us (like giving us more time to read his attacks). I was Legionnaire and had full guard and health and still died because he threw this weird green/blue electricity at me. It's so chaotic I don't even know what happened. If my Legionnaire couldn't handle it, how are Archers and Keepers going to handle him?
Bioware, if you are reading this, please adjust this boss in some way to make it more fair.
