Just as the title says. I go to the tavern in Redcliffe village and enter it with Dorian in my party, but the quest will not trigger. Instead, I'm inside an empty tavern. By chance, I had the problem before and was able to get it to trigger once, but then I reloaded from the autosave and nothing I do seems to work.

Someone said on the Dorian thread that you may have to enter the Tavern "as" Dorian. They said it worked then. Try that and see.

You need to go in with ONLY Dorian in your party with you. If you enter with other people in your party along side you and Dorian, it won't trigger.

I can confirm that if you enter the pub with just Dorian the quest will trigger but this only works if you havent already tried entering the pub with a full party. So if this is the case you 'have' to reload a previous save to ensure youre not entering into an 'empty' pub.

Not true. I entered it with my whole party. Here's what I did:

 

1. Entered with full party, pub was empty. 
2. Go outside and save.
3. Reload the save.
4. Re-entered, quest triggered.

I entered as Dorian. That triggered the scene. And I had a full party. The "other" two waiting outside, once the scene started.

i had full party, and not as Dorian, everything went fine.

 

I had noticed that the proper cut scene won't show up in some situations, likely bugs.

 

e.g., I sat down to judge Alexius, I saved the game before doing so. Once I finished the judgement, wanted to try another option, so i loaded the save before sitting down for judgement, and then the cut scene won't play for me to judge him.

I had this same issue. Pub was empty. What ultimately worked for me was this:

1. Only Inquisitor and Dorian in the party.
2. Created a save outside of the inn.

3. Exited out of the game completely.

4. Re-opened game and loaded save.

 

After that the cutscene loaded. Hope this helps someone.

I had the same problem. How I solved it:

- Only Dorian and the Inquisitor in the party.
- Enter the tavern (tavern empty).
- At this point you should have an auto-save INSIDE the tavern.
- Load that auto-save.
Then the cutscene triggered.

PS3 version, entering with a full party and everything worked fine.  Everyone who's having problems, what console are you on?  That'll let Devs possibly reading this know where the issue is
