Is there a way to see your "approval" level with your various companions?

So when you make various choices it notes that "So and So character disapproves" or "so and so greatly approves"...stuff like that.

I was wondering if there was some way to actually see where you stand with the companions like in most other Bioware games via a menu or the UI...or if that is hidden from the player and you're supposed to just be able to tell by talking to them and gauging their reaction to you.

No. They took that away.

I quite like the change.

It means you have to do pen&paper bookkeeping.

I think the devs said that they will interact with you in ways appropriate to their feelings about you.  For instance, Cassandra was practically wanting to strangle me herself at the beginning but when I started talking to her (and somehow got nothing but "Cassandra approves" all the time), within the span of a couple of hours she became far less hostile and is reluctantly curious about me and was embarrassed at her initial impression.  I take that as a good sign.  I read some other posts about how players ticked other characters off and the characters were either super professional or hostile to the player as time went on.  I personally like it and I have to be very impressed on the way the devs handled it (the body language in itself is pretty damn amazing).

Cassie should stop giving me reasons to turn on friendly fire.

I like this change. Because if they like you they spect differently. I like not having the exact numbers because it helps immersion.

I also like this change.  It has *dramatically* reduced my approval micromanagement.  I now find myself saying what I want to say a lot more and a lot less of what I think people want to hear.  If they don't like it, they can leave and them leaving no longer feels like a failure because some meter wasn't full enough.
