So, for anyone else who thinks that sound cue when unlocking game achievements is incredibly annoying and wants to disable it, I refer you to this post (first comment on the linked page by EA_Nils).
No more annoying sound cue.

This annoying *bleep* sound really freaked me out in Mass Effect 3, glad to see there's a fix now ![]()
Great, thanks, I wondered where this stupid sound came from... ^^
It really is ludicrous.
Orchestra! Violins! Olde worlde chanting! Medieval blacksmiths! BAM! SPACE ZAP LASER FROM THE FUTURE!

Well, EA_Nils did speculate that you could use your own Achievement.wav file to play a custom sound. If it works, there's nothing stopping you from having epic sax guy blaring into your ear everytime you unlock a new achievement.
Thanks. This was giving me an ulcer. That sound was yet another proof that Origin was designed and implemented by drooling idiots.

I misread the word "sax", and was briefly confused and titillated.

Maker bless you. I've been startled enough.
Managed to kill the sound, at least until they implement the patch. WIsh I could do a 'workaround' for the popup, but at least that doesn't shake the walls and rattle the windows at zero dark thirty and wake up the neighborhood every time it pops. ![]()
