The game definitely has flaws. No arguing that, and no need to rehash those same topics that are being repeated over and over all over the forum.
But I'm still having a good time with the game. I am having fun. Why?
The world. It's simply amazing. The huge, beautifully crafted world is an absolute joy to explore in. I spent hours literally just wandering around, doing quests, interacting with the environment, discovering secrets, and just admiring the attention to detail that went into it. Later I checked my quest map, and saw a quest point WAY out somewhere, with a huge expanse of unexplored blackness between me and it. I thought, "DEAR GOD. Does it ever end?" It was awesome.
And I'm still in the first area! Other than a short jaunt to Val Royeaux, I haven't even left the Hinterlands yet! It's insanely large. But it's not just big, empty space: It's jam-packed with quests, collectibles, discoverables, and all sorts of things to do.
Yes, the game has some problems. But I feel the problems are the kind that are easily fixable with patches. You can easily correct control problems with a patch. But you can't patch in fun.
Overall, I'm very happy with the game, and look forward to exploring more!
