By the way, can anyone contact Mister Mark Darrah https://twitter.com/BioMarkDarrahand ask him about the broken and glued arms fix?
I did a few days ago, linked him to this thread and several others stressing the issue at hand. No reply though :[

Hm maybe you-or someone else who has a twitter should try again. I do not enjoy their silence in this matter. I remember BioWare 'bragging' about how good their elves will look in DA:I. Now they are broken, glued and we do not even get an official answer. It is not surprising but still, mighty vile marketing practise.
*looks at the body* They were bragging about this? I know kids in first year college that do a better job then this.

Yes. They were supposed to be upgrade from DAII elves (my favourite ones). It rings at least twenty bells of naivete in my head, but I would never submit my work for the review if it was as much botched as the male elves in DA:I. These people are responsible for creating multi million products. I would walk with the red cheeks for weeks. Shameful. I will thank them if they fix it-sorry, when they fix it, but honestly? They don't deserve it. The only thing worse are the comments mad eby the people who ridicule one of the biggest RP aspects in the RPG by saying 'lol broken arms, we have bigger problems'. Walking and talking with broken amrs for about 100h is not a trivial thing. For many working people these are weeks of experiencing it.
The skinniness I think is not likely to be fixed as that seems to be a deliberate design choice. The weird angles and crookedness of the arms, however...

All I care about are broken and glued arms. Skinny body is a second priority. I can live with it but not with broken-glued arms.
Wow. I heard whispers in the dark about problems with the male elf model but was quite content to stare at my Lady Inquisitor Lavellan and leave the male for the second playthrough. But this...this is just, I don't even know what to say. Here I thought the Skyhold "outfit" is a problem. These arms....dreadful.

This is basically how I feel. I'm not bothered by the skinny body, personally -- although I'd happily pay $9837649.87 (exact change) for some DLC that lets us wear armor in Skyhold.
But this bug with the collapsing arms in cutscenes genuinely ruins the experience at points. The broken rigging looks goofy enough on its own, but it's immersion breaking when you get into an overly grimdark dramatic cutscene, and there's Solas and/or your m!Elf Inquisitor with their arms sinking into their body, ruining the animations and whatnot.
I'm sort of getting used to the skinny arms. I just wish I could wear my Warden Battlemage armor on the throne.
I do want this rigging issue fixed, though.
But until then, here is a totally awesome Fenris dancing animation + music to watch and amuse yourself with until the patch finally comes.

Really this thing is awesome. It makes me so happy to watch and listen to. Dance, Fenris, dance! ![]()
I've been armorcrafting and I've noticed with some arms it looks worse than with others. My rogue actually looks okay in some of them. But then there are others where everything just looks horribly bent and crooked, it makes the Skyhold outfit look good in comparison.
Yeah, I avoid those armors like the plague. I really want to play the whole game in the warden battlemage outfit though. can I get a schematic for that, BW? ![]()
The freaky arms are honestly getting me to do more and more of the open world stuff. Time spent doing sidequests and just wandering around is time spent actually wearing armor and not seeing the squashed arms in the cutscenes. I do hope they fix it soon though. I'm going to run out of sidequests eventually.
I've always liked Fenris. Didn't care much for the way he treated red wine but at least he had two healthy looking arms. I really hope BW will fix this.
Slightly off topic but: Are there any decent looking medium Dalish armors for the Inquisitor in this game? I keep finding robes, which are nice, but of course my rogue is not allowed to wear them, annoying.

Theres a tier 3 schematic for Elves on the Hissing Wastes vendor. Looks like Merrill's robe though on females. On males: http://i.imgur.com/iexdW3p.png
On topic, this bug is killing Solas so bad for me. D:
Thank you, something like Merill's robe will do nicely. I'm not too unhappy with the long leather mantle at the moment, but always nice to have a full wardrobe.
*sigh* Still, I miss elves looking decent and not getting further butchered. Is it wrong to like Tolkien style elves? Well sorry, but I like my pretty boys as much as guys like their pretty girls. I really miss Fenris to. The new look of elves in DA2 took a bit of time, but I really came to like Fenris and Merril. And at least Fenris looked like he could handle a sword. I'd take their style back over this broken, skinny to the point of unhealthy, abomination of proportions thing that's supposed to be an elf. I still can't imagine how my elf lifted that Inquisition sword.
I had really hoped that Bioware would do good for elves this time around. Seems they only put in a mediocre amount of effort, and most of that was dedicated to the females and npc companions.
Well..on the bright side, at least BW's elves aren't like the elves of Elder Scrolls games. (who's females conveniently always manage to look pretty, but the males are hideous)
To fair, you absolutely can recreate the DA2 elf look in this game with your Inquisitor, if you get the sliders just right.
On the topic of elf armor, I'm forever bitter that we can't get the armor the Mythal elves wear. It helps so much with the male elves' physical build and the way they stand.
I got back to Skyhold and

How come he gets to wear that, but players can't. ![]()

meh. Not a fan of the copper color. Give me a dark green or blue. ![]()

I feel it too and it is painful. Patch, need patch

Congratulations, you have caused fractures in Solas arms. If this is not a bug then I'm cyborg bee

I don't know... he kind of looks like a copper toned frog. It's the scales on the armor coupled with the skinny calves. ![]()
Anyone with twitter, please inform Mister Mike Laidlaw of this bug: https://twitter.com/Mike_Laidlaw

Yes, even Solas can't escape doom.
Thank you very much. With the upcoming patch, it should be fixed. Can't imagine playing this game with this thing.
Hello everyone.
Sorry for my english. ![]()
I've been confused by elven appearance too. Registered here just to share the pic. That's what i've noticed-
Some of the gear looks different(normal/as designed) in craft window than it does in the game world.
Did not have chance to check other gear but rogue.
It's clearly NOT normal:
