As much as I would hope it would, I don't think theirs ever going to be a patch unless someone mods the PC version. I don't often see things like this. By now they've probably seen your post, and still no word of it being fixed, just somebody from bioware saying it doesn't happen to every elf. I think you might be wasting your time - which is dumb, because it should be fixed.
I'm sorry J G, but I can't even begin to believe or accept that. There's no way something like this is going to be ignored as it effects a significant enough portion of the player base. This isn't just some tiny bug, it's a huge oversight on a playable character model and it deeply effects the strengths of this game; in this case, the social scenes. I understand it's a game and all, but every time you see it, you instantly remember, "Hey, I'm just playing a game and my goofy elf's arm is broken. Cool." You really can not stay "in the game" and take things seriously unless you are very good at ignoring glaring graphical goofiness. At some point, you just want to give in. I know I am, I'm very near starting over as a human (I'm 35 hours in, mind you...) because I can't take the game seriously anymore. It's a damned shame too, I like my character.
As for the silence, my best educated guess is based simply off of the information we've heard about anything else. We're only hearing extremely small bits of news about the audio problem for example (a problem I admittedly wasn't even aware existed lol) and I've seen multiple threads on various other issues with the PC version. Most likely, they are working diligently on a large list of issues, working on them one by one, and rather than take the time to constantly update the player base, they're batting down the hatches and just powering through it. I'm sure we'll hear something soon...well, I hope. I'd love an update despite my suspicions lol.
