Haha, as a guy I can agree with you, it's nice to look a female for 50+ hours opposed to males. Funny to see it goes both ways :).

Yeah. I know people who like to play their own gender, people who like to make a character that looks like them, people who prefer playing the opposite gender, and people who don't like having a character based on them at all. I'm with the later groups of people. I enjoy playing guys more, and I prefer making up original characters rather then base one on myself.

Although, my dwarfette is adorable. (i really wish there was a dwarf she could romance.)

@Lord Surinen

If I used social media, I would. I'd harass them so much. But I don't and I'd rather really not have to touch that. ^_^  I'll just keep harassing the forums.

I will say, though. If its not fixed in the update, I will sign up for twitter and start harassing. That's how much I want this mess fixed.

Yes, if it won't get fixed then I will consider making twitter account myself. I would rather prefer to avoid to hear 'there was no time to fix it' as if it is fine and normal to release botched product and fix it later. I have seen it already too many times in this industry. Big and beautiful words won't work, I have at least +90 defence to emotional hijacking. If it was fps game or even tps then I would not care as much about it, but it is RPG, I'm supposed to look at my character during cutscenes, observe him, his reaction during cutscenes, respond emotionally to situations presented before me. I don't see it happening with broken-glued arms.

Exactly! I can role-play myself enough in real life, and while that can be fun and enjoyable (sometimes.. lol), I'd rather use games as an escape and a learning experience to a different point of view of the world.

I just want a body like Solas.  He's not even buff, he just doesn't look like a 10 year old boy.

Yep. Plus, I can get into my character more if I design a backstory and personality for my character. My male elf is kind, with a hint of snark at times, but genuinely wants to help the Inquisition and mages. (I've wanted to aid with elves and mages since the very first game) My female elf is polite and kind, but she's a Dalish at heart and is wary for her people.

Minor story spoiler...

Spoiler

I have a qunari mage who's snarky and a bit reluctant about being dragged around, but he is still willing to help. (throwing a minor complaint out as he does so) He's a bit more untrusting and nervous, being a qunari mage who would otherwise have been bound and leashed by his people under the Qun. (which made me sad when none of the conversation options with Iron Bull addressed him being a mage, just a Tal'Vashoth. <_< )

And my dwarfette is a selfish, snarky, lethal carta girl who will make all the choices I wouldn't in my other games.(like siding with Templars). I've decided to embrace her backstory.

Solas is a god among elven men in the eyes of my male elf. I'll be lucky if my elf doesn't get possessed by an envy demon at this rate. <_<

It really bothers me that seemingly no one else has mentioned this particular problem. All I see around the net and on news sites is issues with party chat banter. I mean...really? Personally, I haven't noticed any issues with my party, everyone's talking just fine. Seems to come up at just the right moments on my travels too. But, again, no mention of us elf players lol. Guess we're a too specific lot. It greatly surprises me that not one review noticed this. Did they all play Qunari and human lol!?

I don't think the banter issue is as big a deal as people seem to be making out. I haven't come across it, nor has anyone else I know who is playing DAI. As for the elf, I guess most people are probably playing human or female elves. Seems to be that way if you look on Youtube.

People who would roll a male Elf are sadly in the minority. No accounting for taste I suppose.

Judging by the Introduce your Inquisitor forum thread, most players play human...and female. And after that is followed by female elves. With qunari male in the runner up. Female Qunari/Dwarf, Male elf, and Male Dwarf are in the minority. :(

Honestly I didn't notice a problem with party banter.

I noticed a problem with male elf as soon as he was standing up straight.

Yeah, the Elf body model could use a tweak.. it seems like all you guys did was take the "human" model and "Squish" it.. rather then make a full on new model.

Also... WHY IS MY HUMAN MALE CUT IN HALF!!  Seriously, I found a piece of armor that the "Waist" is completely free floating above the legs...  just wtf...

What bothers me the most about Male Elf is how *sickly skinny* he appears! I mean, he looks good wearing Rogue Coat but when he's wearing the Inquisitor pajamas? **** looks awful :( The proportion of his head compared to the body seems so off :/

I don't mind the male elves looking skinny and kinda feminine, but I think the arm things are a legit problem. My male elf's arms bend inwards towards his body like wet noodles, and his arms often cut into his armour and body. I made a male elf to romance the amazingness that is Dorian, I don't think I can take love scenes between them seriously if his arms are bending in places they should not bend.

Yes, broken-glued arms are horrible. We are still waiting for the patch. Will it provide us with fix? It should.

Please, contact https://twitter.com/dragonageand try to get answer about the fix.

As much as I would hope it would, I don't think theirs ever going to be a patch unless someone mods the PC version. I don't often see things like this. By now they've probably seen your post, and still no word of it being fixed, just somebody from bioware saying it doesn't happen to every elf. I think you might be wasting your time - which is dumb, because it should be fixed.

It happens to every male elf and it must be fixed. It is a botched work in multi million production. Patch is on the way, we don't know the content of it but I hope that it will fix the issue. There are people who bought this game to specifically play male elf Inquisitor. Mister Allan Schumacher did not show up in this thread after his initial posts. I'm still waiting for a more vigorous approach from the BioWare.

I'm sorry J G, but I can't even begin to believe or accept that. There's no way something like this is going to be ignored as it effects a significant enough portion of the player base. This isn't just some tiny bug, it's a huge oversight on a playable character model and it deeply effects the strengths of this game; in this case, the social scenes. I understand it's a game and all, but every time you see it, you instantly remember, "Hey, I'm just playing a game and my goofy elf's arm is broken. Cool." You really can not stay "in the game" and take things seriously unless you are very good at ignoring glaring graphical goofiness. At some point, you just want to give in. I know I am, I'm very near starting over as a human (I'm 35 hours in, mind you...) because I can't take the game seriously anymore. It's a damned shame too, I like my character.

As for the silence, my best educated guess is based simply off of the information we've heard about anything else. We're only hearing extremely small bits of news about the audio problem for example (a problem I admittedly wasn't even aware existed lol) and I've seen multiple threads on various other issues with the PC version. Most likely, they are working diligently on a large list of issues, working on them one by one, and rather than take the time to constantly update the player base, they're batting down the hatches and just powering through it. I'm sure we'll hear something soon...well, I hope. I'd love an update despite my suspicions lol.

I've retweeted to @DragonAge on twitter again, still no response. I'm starting to lose my patience :/ If they aren't gonna fix it, at least tell us so. I need a friggin reply so I wouldn't have to wait in vain for what may be a month until they finally admit that they are not going to fix this. And if they are indeed planning to fix the Elves, then I'd gladly wait some more...

Yes, I share your opinion. If they are willing to admit that their standards are extremelly low that they allow botched models to be included in the AAA RPG titl then they should do it, better than no information at all or delayed one. We should spread this information to prevent male elf players from buying this game until the bug is fixed. Maybe you should retweet this message every x hours (just to avoid spam accusation) to both: https://twitter.com/Mike_Laidlaw(tell him that dragonage obviously does not care to answer, but they so vigorously comment on some completely irrelevant messages) and https://twitter.com/dragonage .

It is quite vile, look: https://twitter.com/...e/with_replies they are replaying to the same tweeter users x  times but you cannot get even 1 answer.

I'm pretty sure that applies to, like, the news and real people doing real stuff.  Vile is a strong word.

Anyways, I decided that my full playthrough character was going to be a male elf archer.  I was sure I could ignore the graphical issue until it was fixed, especially since I've played the first 10-20 hours a metric crapton of times.  I lasted until right after the first Hinterlands quest.  The moment you get/craft your first set of armor the issue stands up and starts yelling at you to look at it, waving broken arms and sickly shoulders.  I'm pretty sure the shoulders turned to me and went neener neener neener.  Has to be a bug.

I'm not going to make noise for an answer.  They know.  It'll get fixed or it won't.  Incessant tweeting is just annoying, not motivating in any way, shape, or form.

Fast forward to the last 30 or seconds of that (its 8hrs long btw).. but yeah, the last 30 seconds shows the Human male clearly cut in half.  Its REALLY obvious during the cut scene where you can see snow through him and people moving.... so sad.

EDIT:  My bad, its about 6 minutes from the end..

I was not aware that robots, cyborgs or software is responsible for quality check.
But seriously, there are real people behind testing, quality check and game release. If you allow your broken product to hit the market while knowing about its many issues then it is vile.

Indeed and this is why male elf playthrough is nearly impossible to achieve within rpg ramification.

I share the opposite opinion. Being moderate, neutral does not solve problems. Loud, extreme stance does. It does not matter whether the cause is good or bad,. extremities attract the most people. You march forward and apply pressure.

What we are doing here is quite mild, sporadical tweets are mild. Us being ignored by Them is not doing Us any service.

I dunno if it's related, but my female elven inquisitor has her arms "missing" when she is wearing this particular piece of armor.
