Well he certainly has the chest of a young girl. His arms are about the right size, too. Give him some makeup and nobody will be able to tell the difference!

don't tempt me to photoshop, man. I have no time this morning. ![]()
Another day without a patch. Broken bones scream for justice. Stop the oppression! Glue won't define us!
Dragon Age has the worst elven character models of any video game to date. No amount of arm fixing with change that. Sad but true.

Fragile appearance is not new. Of course I have preffered cat-alien from DAII but DA:I is not terrible, just the bugs are, at least to me. Fix broken and glued arms and I won't stop playing.
someone found base model in game.
i just edited to cover ken doll bits, there you go:
looks like human race model with upper part scaled down by two times causing all problems

I'd argue that the Elder Scrolls elves are worse. I can't even bring myself to play any of those races. ![]()
(not counting the females, who still tend to look somewhat pretty compared to their male counterparts)

Do we have an image of the base human model for comparison?
The shoulders are just way to squished in...If all they did was seriously scale down the upper part of the body, that would explain why I feel the hips down are final in modeling, but the area between neck and hips is just......horrid.
Did they really do that? Cut corners? And not test to make sure no issues arrised? Ugh...
****
Yup

I quite like Elder Scrolls elves. it takes some work to get one looking halfway decent sometimes especially in Oblivion, but overall they look alright. Plus they can actually have beards which is an immediate +500 points in my book.

And how does look PC elf model? The same body proportions as Solas?

Mer of Nirn are alien, beautiful, unique! Glory to the Altmer and infinite in their wisdom Thalmor!
Of course it is a botched work.
Yup
Spoiler
*tries to ignore the sexy dorian model* Ahem...but yeah, you can definitely see the difference and how one was squished. I mean, even if the character has a lithe, smaller frame...they should still follow the pointing down triangle rule (unless they are meant to be chubby or unmatured...)
examples...

no matter how hard I try, I could never get a decent looking male elf, myself. At least...not without mods. ![]()

those are PC bodies applied to companions. Look, even nipples are stretched.
it's clearly badly scaled human body.
In short, a man's hips are not supposed to be wider then their shoulders. That's just how proportions work. How the male skeleton works. My inner artist is cringing painfully in a tight ball. ![]()
Ugh... now I will never play a elf warrior. I mean how that thing with a body of a teen girl is supposed to smash things with a big two handed sword?
Also, got tired of waiting for a fix and started to play with an elven female mage.
Each time I look at the male model I feel it should be smithed with righteous fury.
What's strange is comparing the elf Inquisitor to Solas. Solas is slender and lithe but is still normally proportioned, whereas the elven Inquisitor looks like a skeleton with his arms glued to his torso.
Edited: Nevermind, just looked at the Solas model and it's pretty f-ed up too. But not as bad as the elven Inquisitor.

Ugh, I know what you mean, Its driving my inner artist OCD crazy. Its just basic anatomy at this point. They squished the upper body but inexplicably tried to keep the lower pelvis and legs the same width as the human model. Giving male elves a terrible pelvic deformity on top of broken arms, malnutrition and possibly breasts.
I'm not asking for much. Just back to this:

Fenris is a Greek God compared to what we have currently >.>
I rolled a elf male mage, and ugh! No thank you. Too skinny and the proportions are all wrong. I'm going to do my second playthrough as a qunari mage.
Maybe my rogue/renegade playthrough will be a elf female. I always roll a badass human fem for my "*******" run. But I think a elf female would work. Especially since the Solas romance I hear is pretty cool.

The more I look at it the more I think "Water tribe~"

Fenris is just a God in general....
*shameless fangirling moment*
*ahem*
Solas looks normal outside of his base elf body because of his default clothes, which are fashioned in a sense that makes him look normal. Simple as it is, the elf base body is horrendous. Its a crime against anatomy and proportions. Even in a class where you learn to drawn monsters and creatures, you still have to consider anatomy and proportions correctly. Otherwise, you get instances like this where people ask "how the hell does *insert creature/race* lift a *insert weapon/object/etc* with those *insert body part*"
which incidently leads to a highly amusing madlib. ![]()

I always suspected that Fenris had the narrow, shoulders and skinny arms of a prepubescent girl (like other DA2 elves) and that they hid it underneath the shoulder widening feathery armored covers.
Anotherday, another waiting session. How will they fix our broken-glued arms and when will the patch appear.
Fenris using the Big Bad Fenris mod was the only reason I could play the game. *sigh* He actually made DA 2 not so crappy
Now we can only hope some clever modder can do something for DA I down the track.

Mind you, I would happily settle for a model with the original Fenis body in this game, it would at least be payable for me. It's a shame really because it is a gorgeous game, but lacking that extra something because I really want to play an elf.

Honestly? Horrible mod. What did they do to Fenris. Let elves be elves, slim, thin or whatever. Broken-glued arms are the only problem there is, it is a bug and it is bad, badly bad.
Right, cuz elves cannot be fat or muscular..
