Theirs where we disagree. You shouldn't use the term we. Not everyone feels the same. I'm enjoying my elf playthrough just fine.

Yes I use term 'we' and I will continue to do so, for I speak in the name of those who care. It is not mine to judge someone else's standards, just know this: you are doing a horrible disfavour to the righteous cause.

Male elf arms are ridiculous. You gotta be very drunk, to not notice it :D

Just to add my voice to this thread.

I'm fine with the overall body-shape of the elves. Yes they look like very, very thin humans, but they're not humans. Works for me.

The male elf odd-angle arm, however, looks like something went very, very wrong. I would not want to play a male elf until that's fixed.

It looks like this:

  1. Rushed
  2. Botched
  3. Ignored

All combined, Commander Inquisitor.

Can't wait to see patch notes tomorrow.

Well, clearly I'm not fine with the overall design, but hey I could live with the skinny thing if the shoulders/clipped arms weren't there.

I re-rolled my human warrior after 40hrs because it was so dull and gave in to temptation to play at least half of my preferred character because I figured a DW rogue human had to be better. And it is, but it is still lacking something for me.

I'm actually considering bailing on the game in favour of loading up DAO withy all the mods I couldn't manage to run on my laptop (yes, I did spend well over a grand having a new PC built to spec so I could run this game) because all I can think while I am playing a human noble is how much more amazing it was to be my Dalish Warden. That's right, the new game is making me wish I was playing the old one.

That is ridiculous! I paid $90 for this game, I think it's reasonable to want to play it as my preferred race without cringing.

So heres to everyone who is willing to keep fighting for a decent male elf.

Spoiler

Left- Nude body model

Right- Skyhold outfit

Middle- Difference between them

Both meshes are elven models we have in game

-------------------------

Model proportions look fine in 3d max, not like in the game.

Upper arm is ok too, Skyhold outfit has some bending there, but not as much.

Or i'm just wrong, idk  :(

So its less likely the person who did the base models and more likely an issue where they had several people modeling clothes and no one properly coordinating with each other to make sure they were all working with the same model in mind?

giphy.gif

At least in regards to the constantly warping body type. Still don't explain/fix the broken arms.

It's likely model/animation conflict. Lets pray they fix it or i will do anything to mod the hell out of this game i swear

If mods are released to fix this and devs will not. I may have to switch to my PC version full time...sigh.

If that happens I will regret buying an xbox one to play this game rather than a gaming pc (it was just too confusing).

We definitely have a rigging problem then it looks.

Though that's also one more knock against the Skyhold outfit as it is literally painted on. >.>

If this happens, I'd regret buying my PS4 version of the game and may have to sell it :(

I don't think they will. From that blog I read, it seems they're going to focus on PC controls and overall stablity of the game for this patch. Full patch notes have not been released, but from reading the blog game stability seems like the priority.

But the people responsible for models are not the same who fix the code. They could prio both. This is all very nice, fixed controls will most definately enhance the joy coming out of broken arms.

I doubt the arms/shoulders will be fixed in this patch. I actually doubt they'll be fixed any foreseeable patch. If you look around, people just don't care about the arms because so few people play elves. Aside from this thread, it's almost a non-existent issue elsewhere.

Still, it is a main race in AAA production. It just can't remain broken. Probably few more hours and they will release patch notes. Hoping for fix.

Will depend if they managed to track down the issue fast enough to do the fix. Also if the artists weren't given some other things to fix (although I haven't heard about anything that'd be as noticeable as the elf arm thing so there's hope it's assigned some priority)

Guess we'll see soon enough.

Actually, it would be pretty funny to see in notes 'fixed textures on the rocks by the lake' or other silly graphic bugs that are nowhere near broken-glued and devastated male elf model!

Indeed, soon we will learn about BioWare's integrity, dedication and care for their customers, especially elvhen fans.

Failing to fix one issue straight away that doesn't actually prevent people from playing the game or from seeing content is hardly reflective of 'BioWare's integrity, dedication and care for their customers'.

DAI is probably the biggest game that they have worked on - a game that was developed for 5 different systems; two of which hardly any dev currently knows 100%. They probably have much bigger concerns to tackle first.

Quite the opposite. They have shipped the broken game with obvious bugs. Any patch without fix for it since the premiere speaks against BioWare. It drastically reflects on them. They haven't done their job with day 1 patch and if they won't deliver now then this is going to be a tragedy of far worse than Ubisoft proportions.

Two different teams two different jobs. I dont see how fixing it can prevent  other team from doing their job with the code. Size of game matters not in the case when testing/QA has been cut just to get product on the market faster.

Many of us were prevented from enjoying our playthroughs because of these vile bugs.
