Everybody speaks about time, about other issues. BW is truly a large company and they have many teams responsible for different things. Why would some artist be involved in the code.
This fix will require coding. Everything in a digital game has a coding component else it does not display.

But there are separate groups of people doing their respective work. I don't see a problem here with fixing it fast.

As someone learning in the game industry as a student of UAT, this is not always true. There are designers, programmers, and artists. Yes, they need to communicate with one another, but modeling and rigging issues can be handled by artists without the need for programming. Programming comes into play when you load the animations into the engine and need to code them so the animations play when they are needed. Aka, press the interact key and the door opening animation plays.
Most artists get away with no knowledge of programming. Designers need a little knowledge in both art and programming.

I agree with you. I think you are absolutely correct about the conditions and the process and that the artists will be able to doctor the image without a coder. However, eventually, as you implied, the teams' work must meet in order for a patch to be rendered and released. Consequently, I think it promotes what is sometimes called "toxic expectations" to believe that this issue can be fixed with artists alone. This is the only point I was trying to make.

Toxic expectations? I expect them to bow down before me and apologise for releasing game in its wicked condition. There was no open letter of apology nor 'free dlc'. I expect them to work non stop until it is fixed. Fixing it should not take more than 3 weeks and we are already during on our third week.if I'm tire. We did not even get an estimate date for a fix to come.

I honestly don't know enough about Bioware's development cycles to speculate how far in advance they schedule their workload calendars. It's possible, for instance, that the artists could be available and prepare their part of the fix in "x" number of days while the coders won't have time to look at it for "x + y" days. Some product managers are very strict about deviations from schedule and yes, the need for patching can cause conflict in an office. Sometimes different heads of department won't agree on what is most important and what should be fixed first.
I am reading this thread because I think it is a very interesting problem and the theoretical 3D rendering discussion has been really cool. However, I will confess that I don't quite understand the urgency to your demands for a fix. It would be very peculiar of Bioware to leave the male elf model in this condition forever; therefore, I expect they will fix it. I simply don't expect them to address it before they stomp out the bugs that keep the game from playing entirely for some people.

If it will be a thing, if it will come to this then BW will become a new LOW for me. I'm rarely swayed by feelings but when I think about such possibility then disgust shows all over my face. In the times when pirating is on the rise, companies such as BW should do everything to keep players closely, treated well and fed with fixes.

I keep hearing the engine is difficult to mod though. A shame, really. Otherwise some talented modder might have fixed the arms and those dreadful pjs already. Oh and fixed the non existent walk funktion for PC. And added a storage chest. And added a way to reaccess the CC...

Urgency of my demand is basically dictated by me wish to play a male elf. It is an RPG and I expect RP from it. Immersion untouched by vulgar distractions of broken-glued arms ilk or even worse. How m I supposed to feel connected with my character when he is trying so well to destroy any kind of relation that I can have with what is going on the screen.

I actually understand that completely and can imagine feeling that way about something. I do hope you get what you want. Just as much, though, I hope you are able to wait without becoming terribly unhappy.

Yes, toxic expectations. It is a phrase that originated with psychological therapy and has entered common usage in some parts of the United States. It means to create expectations in one's own mind regarding situations over which one has no direct control leading to one's hurt and disappointment.
I'm aware of the meaning, but I don't think that there is anything toxic about customer's demands toward seller in case of broken product. I would gladly leave these forums and go play my game.

I'm not unhappy at all. If there was unhappiness then it has been replaced with disgust. Waiting is boring though.

I agree, nothing toxic about a customer holding a seller accountable. My concerns are for the toxicity of the wait, not just for you but for everyone to whom this is very important.
By the way, I appreciate that you are writing to me in earnest. Sometimes what you write is very funny and glib but it is good to merely trade ideas sometimes, I think.

However, if the issue lies only in the rigging, it should be a quick fix that should already work with the current coding. Depends on the extent of the damage.
Its really hard to tell without getting our hands on it ourselves. That's why I want a fix, whether its soon or in a month. Just eventually, would be nice. *my point of view*

Edited to add: yeah, waiting can be a major drag...
Edited again to add: your possible disgust is not what I was glad to consider.

Waiting is a drag. Which is why I'm happily going through my qunari mage playthrough first. I may also just remake my elf boy and try to see how to make it work.

Well, you'd know this better than I: if it is just the rigging do they then need to put the elf guy through a playthrough or "x" number of hours of varying activity to make sure he is viable? My knowledge is focused on enterprise software production and user-end web apps not games. However, if the issue lies only in the rigging, it should be a quick fix that should already work with the current coding. Patience is one of the few disciplines I can place in everybody's desires. Pity that so many shake content of their basket.
Sometimes.

I know only of words I use. Most often they happen to to lay in phrases corresponding to some more feelings ridden arguments. Dramatique erotique s1e25.
I'm most definately actively pushing.
I wonder, what kind of patch will arrive in a week time. Hopefully, not one of the 'none' breed.

Holidays line up this month pretty intensively. If not in a week then when, I would be worry about it. Four weeks might be a min. Disaster on the horizon.

It might be. Then again, patching can gain momentum. Some of what didn't make it into Patch 2 probably just missed the cut-off for inclusion so Patch 3 could be sooner. As has been indicated in this thread by souls not I, lack of information makes educated guesses impossible.

The likelihood that they are being rushed to patch and get things fixed by the end of the season is very high. At least here in USA, christmas time is a big release and sales time for games. If the buzz about broken stuff now seems bad, watch for the after holiday buzz. Yeesh...

Not really. They would need to look over all the current animations, and maybe view him in a couple cutscenes since that is where the issue has made itself the most present.
According to what Kiitosu seemed to find, its just a rigging in the upper bone that warps weirdly when moved about.
