Its funny the sheer difference between the critics and the fans on metacritic. Critics give it a 9, fans give it a 4.5. That's...quite a big difference.

Secret de Polichinelle. Yes, it is quite a difference but who cares, it is GOTY, successful, such a wonderful game with bugs that I expect of F grade productions made in the garage, under influence of all that mother chemistry blessed us with.

You'll get 0 score from "fans" on Metacritic even for things like the game being published by EA, or because it's bundled with anti-cracking measure and lot of other reasons like that. Plenty people there with axes to grind. And it only takes one such person to sink two people worth of decent 75+ scores.

Don't worry. Cutscenes come and your arms will be beautifully glued to your ribcage.

By the way, is it a mage?

Nope, two handed warrior.

Oh man, if the cutscenes will glue my arms, ill drop the game and look for another one. -.-

They will. There is no hope. Please, watch closely during cinematic, while your character stand idle. Please make screenshots of it and do come back!

From my perspective it is a team wasted. Elves are still bugged. It does not help when they advertise new ways to spend your real money and provide content for it, while the singleplayer suffers.

Well, from mine, its not as I find multi quite enjoyable to kick around as do many people so ;p

But again, different team with a different development cycle. There's no reason the multiplayer team should delay the release of their work because the single player team screwed something up. Plus the multiplayer team is not working with the modular PC meshes or with the cutscene mode that are the problem in the single player game. So even if you did uproot them from their own work and forced them to work on the main game they might not actually be of much help.

Besides, I highly doubt the issue is just a simple lack of resources on Bioware's end. It could be a lack of time ( due to management decisions or EA breathing down their necks ) or a lack of experience with the new engine or simply having to beat said new engine into doing what they want to begin with. The Frostbite engine is not an RPG engine, it was made to be an FPS engine, so a lot of DA:I still had to be built from the ground up.

Then throw in the looming holiday season.

There are no excuses. It should be shining. Time is one of resources and I expect them to drop everything until game is finished. That's it for me. I can listen to this kind of reasoning before game release 'we need more time, theres much to do'. After game release it should be ticking like a finest clock.

that's a pretty cool armor. The elf looks so normal in it.

Kind of crap you can use it only in the early game, no schematics for it.

That's how I feel about my warden battlemage armor. I wish I could wear it the entire game.

Yep, it's definitely not an isolated issue.
It seems to happen regardless of what armour you have equipped -- the common denominator is that all you have to do to experience this bug is to play an elf.
Pretty shitty considering it's, you know, a whole race AND your player character.

Also, just something I observed on another thread -- check out these proportions! It's quite clear that the model, in its entirety, needs a damn good fix.

Also, double post and *bump* because no one is f***ing watching these forums any more, not even moderators it seems.

Good frigging job Bioware, you ignoramuses who happen to be good at making games (for the most part), but fail at community engagement xoxo

Modders toolkit is still WIP so they can't fix that bug yet because they don't have access  to the animations, just the skeleton.

Also, that's normal that Sera seems to have a larger body, it was stated by a modder that she has the body of a female human it seems. :P

Anyway, if it can cheer you up, here an example of what modder (Kittou) might share with us the day the toolkit will allow mesh import in the game.

Spoiler

That's a dang fine looking elf. I'm a fan of the hair -- very Dalish.

Unfortunately but yes, I were right. This is an obvious bug replicated on every machine and game. For some reason they have released a bug ridden mass of mess. It is a wonder that these models don't grow hair and teeth from armpits.

If they did, how would we ever know?

and

Wouldn't having armpits be an improvement?

During romance scenes they would pop out from the place that is supposed to be armpit.

I want elves fixed!

I'm presenting explanations, not excuses. I'm trying to be reasonable as being reasonable gets things accomplished easier than frothing hyperbole. Which typically gets you dismissed or ignored.

Eventually I just made my elf as ugly as possible and called him Dobby.

Dobby didn't mean to kill. Only maim or seriously injure.

I can't agree. Reasonable was to expect and get finished product. Everything from that point that is reasonable or moderate will be useless. Extremes are required.

The biggest problem of this thread is that it is very much contained within 3 threads. If not for my poor english grammar then I would send messages to all possible gaming media to show how ridiculous this GOTY is and how many obvious bugs got there. Botched work deserves shaming. Lack of communication is atrocious.

Oh damn I play only females and the elves are fine. I can't believe they haven't fixed this yet. Do they know about this? If this was happening with my female elf, I'd hate it.

They know about it since week 1 of game release. They most probably knew about this pre game release. They avoid giving any information, no contact, no updates. They are harvesting profits from sales and microtransactions in multiplayer that they are so vigorously promoting on their main page.
